The lack of Miru Marauders is disappointing.

There's two reasons:

1. It's an NTR game. If the girlfriend is shit, the NTR would be meaningless - you'd just dump her for the better LI's. The whole point is for it to hurt and for their to be consequences all around. Unimaginable consequences. Such as Dylan (under what we currently know) being Ayua's father. In that situation, Ayua might just call Katie 'aunt' to avoid confusion.

2. How Miru percieves Willi by the end of the game will literally measure how much of an asshole we made Willi to be.

3. Miru is a badass and will take care of herself, thank you very much. There's bones in penises waiting to be broken. :WeSmart:

I will never, ever, ever play a path that betrays Miru. I will quit this game if Ocean forces it. Leia can cuck me all she wants, but I will never intentionally hurt my Queen. Besides, even if Miru wouldn't hurt me, her clan will lay waste to everyone.

Well, it's not a NTR game since you have the choice to enable it or not. It also depends of your choice.

It's like saying a game is a BDSM game because you can have a dom/sub relationship with one LI.

In the old build the choice was faithful or hard NTR(cheating, stealing, etc). In the reboot even with NTR enabled you get the option for swinging/sharing and can ask Miru to be a pornstar, or even choosing to forgo all that and stay committed. The implication is that it only becomes hard NTR again if you have low points with Miru or refuse to sexually satisfy her.

It won't be forced, if NTR off is an option, it has to mean NTR is off.

So look at it like this. If you cheat with NTR on, choices might mean Dylan is Ayua's dad, if it's off, Willi is Ayua's dad. Either way, AYua will exist as a Zane and can be explained in SG, without forcing the player down any path. Ayua is inevitable, but the choice of how she exists can be open to player choice, with a little bit of scripting shenanigans.

But the NTR thing, I'm just mentioning WHY Miru is so great. For the advertised NTR aspects that are a drawcard for some players, there needs to be the consequence of losing something precious. I personally am not interested in NTR, but I like the idea that there SHOULD be consequences if I get Willi to cheat on her. That will make a far more interesting story. I'll play one were Willi's faithful, and several where he isn't. Like in SG, playing one path will mean you never get all of the story - Ocean hides things that only get revealed on some obscure choice combinations, even things like different images in the background of renders. So I'll probably explore the whole lot, just to get a better idea of everything that's going one, regardless of my preference for Katie.

Sure, but Ocean wants a bigger fan base. Being able to turn it off at the start of the game doesn't mean you can switch it on or off at whim, and we've not seen all Ocean has planned. The choice doesn't exist for people who want to play with risk, it exists for the people who want to play without risk. It's not an in game choice in that sense.

That's like saying Donna wasn't really pregnant in old WiaB because we had the choice to choose to turn pregnancy on. Think of non-NTR mode as booting into safe mode; you can't do all the things a computer is good for, but you can open up your word document.

I try not to kinkshame, I really believe in fap and let fap. NTR though, for me, is personally very traumatic and triggering. Needless to say, I play NTR off. It's even difficult if I'm the one cucking someone else, unless it's purely consensual (IRL and Games).

Of course! It's not kinkshaming to talk about your own preferences. You're leaving space for other people to have their own fun. That's how I see the option in the game, it turns off the parts that some people don't want to see. I'm guessing that Ocean will have a different mechanic for betrayal without NTR for those people who don't like NTR. There will still be lots of cloak and dagger to the story though, so relationships won't be simple even with NTR off I believe. I mean, we have an image of Willi with an axe and Helen with a handcannon. Messiness will be a-plenty.

gangs will be gangs. I still don't understand why Leia was so shocked that MC was in prison for a while, with what fun and games she's involved in. Also, if the family is so connected, they would have easily have been able to find out.

Whoa, I just realized—the last update was over a year ago! Personally, I like to wait for a year’s worth of updates before replaying a game on this site, and only if there are three or more updates during that time.

What surprises me the most, though, is how overwhelmingly positive the comments are here. In other games, after months of waiting, people usually start worrying about the game being abandoned. (By the way, after a year without updates, doesn’t the game normally get the "On Hold" tag?)

Is there a particular reason behind the strong support you all have for this game?

Yeah...I got nothing! Honestly this game is just homework for me because I play the dev's other game.

I guess it's got a couple of planet sized women in it...if you're into people who could have their own gravitational field. Also possible NTR in the future. I don't know...

i think it's weird how overly positive the comments are. it gives off uncanny valley vibes to me. anyone that asks "update when" gets absolutely wrecked.

That's because "Update When" is a meme at this point. In fact, several memes. Share your favorite!

Schrödinger's update: until we have seen it, it exists and doesn't exist. So, why not believe that the fortnightly devlogs have substance behind them? The dev goes into more detail than required for passing the buck. Plus, he has indicated the update will be very soon™. This Wednesday we're likely to see how many inches closer we are.

Don't mistake positivity for blind faith. I'd say everyone here is aware of the tardiness. It's simply this: why waste time being unhappy about something you're here to pirate? Either it's here or it's not. Being happy when it's here makes sense, being unhappy when it's not doesn't - there are more days in any AVN's life when there is no update, so perpertual unhappiness over the lack of an update is boring.

We support the idea that the project is ongoing and we'll see an update, what does positivity cost us? If we're wrong what do we lose? There are much more important things in my life every day than being unhappy over an AVN's status.

Dare I say we made friends along the way? :coffee::whistle:

What do you mean, "overwhelmingly positive"? There are a lots of 2-3 stars reviews at the recent reviews page that criticize literally every part of the game. The average weighted rating is 4.2, which is very low for a game of WiAB's quality. So it's not all that clear-cut.

If you mean the comments in this thread, they are mostly from regulars who have long ago decided on their attitude to the game. They can be annoyed by Ocean's unpredictable turns or changes, be pissed by his slow work, but in general they love both the game and its characters. Those who do not like the game have long since splashed out their frustration and left the thread, they are bored here, and there are a lot other games for every taste in the Zone. The main problem is the slow updates, otherwise the game looks great, in my opinion most of the renders look like separate frames from a movie. The plot has many mysteries, vague hints that attract attention and cause long discussions and inventing theories about what will happen next. Interesting characters, a lot of emotionally charged scenes that make you sympathize with these characters. While there are some porn scenes in the game, porno and fetish exploration are not the main focus of the game's plot. So if you were attracted to this game by, for example, the NTR tag, I'm afraid there's little in the game's plot that has anything to do with it yet.

Basically, those who stayed here to regularly write negative posts are either trolls or people who have a personal grudge against Ocean, the rest are tired of it long ago and moved along. Although this is just my opinion, I haven't read what they write now, as I've added most of these users to my ignore list over the past couple of years.
