Really, with Ocean's stuff, I throw logic to the wind. The characters and interactions are what keep me coming. Ocean generates mood better than almost anyone.

To change the story so as not to lose funding, the latter is possible if you are not a millionaire who is able to finance dev directly. He has to maneuver between laws and history in order for this organization to at least pay off, taking into account all sorts of SJW, taxes and ineters of players, etc )

He produces at too glacial a pace for this to be financially feasible. A high estimate of SG's steam sales puts it at 177k gross.
That's before Steam's cut, income tax, healthcare contributions, development costs / general business expenses, etc., etc.
He will play ball with Patreon/SS because the unbound scope creep allows for no other option. Getting a Steam payout once every few years would put him in proximity of poverty if he made Steam his sole income source.
Both games have potential (WiaB significantly less so) that could invalidate everything i've said, but that requires a realistic and consistent release schedule.
That will never happen unless he cedes control to someone with better business sense & understanding of project management to ultimately decide what is and isn't worth pursuing.

SG will be the money maker without a doubt. I have no idea how much I'm
just going by the intertest in both games. And SG wins that hands down and
I kinda wish he never made WIAB because it slows down SG. Just my 2 cents worth.....

Anyway, yeah, it is not surprising that Ocean said here: "All I've been doing on this page for the past 1-2 years is clearing up rumors and absolute bullshit."
I've read so many fucking awesome stories in the last weeks alone.
And about how Ocean spent three years developing the latest update for SG.
And about how he had Season 1 Steam version of SG ready in the November of 2023 and worked on S2 since then.
And about three or five reworks of SG and one more in the process.
And about Ocean's terrible writing, which for some reason they can't stop reading and bitching about for years.
Now it's about how WiAB slowed down SG. I suppose Regium was Ocean's alt, right?
And this is all even after I have half of Ocean's threads participants on my ignore list.
