Well, she was in the old, we don't know now, but Ocean has tended to keep the names of his main characters. Even William isn't a Grimaldi but a Grimaldi-Zane after all

A character tree would be great for this game. Too many names and families to remember.

At the end of Ch4 we get a board. Chances are we'll see that board updated throughout the game. It's be good if Ocean put it in the gallery, with all th unlocked details based on story progression, that's be a simple way to keep people informed.

Finally played it, from the start and honestly, with the rewrite... the story feels pretty stupid and the characters even way more stupid than the story.

Nothing makes sense and they just look weird and not bright at all.

The renders are still amazing, but it looks like a AAA game with an empty shell of a story now.

This new WiAB project is just weird in all the wrong ways. Who are these characters, what are these lewd scenes (I know it is a porn game but doesn't Ocean try to make something serious? ) , why is there too much weird nudity? What is this polarity where we have serious conversations and then you throw something childish with this "bibi" bs? Why is Miru some reddit /discord moderator wet fantasy?

I'm afraid all of this will brush on the Summer's Gone project. It wouldn't be a surprise that it will also be a Mobster story and Summer is collateral of some family feud. If so, good riddance.

And now suddenly he likes Helen and she likes him in WIAB 1-3? The only reason that is because it is still the original backstory!

And even this short "sweet family memory" of him fighting with Leia under Dylan's supervision hints that the Zanes didn't let their children grow up weak. So maybe they encouraged Katie to stand up for herself and not get involved in their squabbles. However, if you remember, Willie got punishments for bullying Katie, for example, when they locked her in Gina's cafe. He himself recalled that he was grounded for a month or something like that. Quite an adequate punishment from parents who do not differentiate between their own and foster children.

Except for the first thing you answer, all the rest is speculation on your part. And about the objection, 1 to 3 still exists in this new canon, and in 4 Katie explicitly says that Dylan never failed her.
And to paraphrase you, it's fine that you don't like it, it's changed everything, but it's also not necessary to make a response like that, where half is speculation and half is interpretation.

Am I pissed the incest was removed? Yes I fucking am. I don't even care about it as a kink (especially given the only well written incest story is years old and finished at this point), but like with many others, the entire story was written around Gigachad and Princess icicle. Everything was related to those two. Without that...it's just...meaningless drivel.

Am I dumbstruck at how dumb the ridiculous tribute no murdering kids get a 'family' to take them in storyline? Yes...what a crock of shit.

Am I happy with the five families plot line? Not really because it's fucking stupid. Sure, it was always a crime plot to some degree, that was obvious even back in the day...but this shit? Are we gonna wake up next to a Krayt's head if we fuck someone, that some apparently important old farts say we shouldn't? Oh fuck off...please...

Am I pissed off that Ocean has turned Gigachad into the biggest anti-sex fucking moron this side of a Trump rally? (and seriously, can someone actually tell me why you guys worship celebrity politicians and go to 'rally's? Honestly, it's fucking dumber than this current plotline). Yes I am...so many hot girls....so many who want the Willichad....but no...put your boobs away please ladies....like omfg...Ocean, stop cockblocking the Gigachad...please? Despite all the so called professionlism and team of testers, Ocean needs new proof readers...

It is just an incoherant mess right now? Yes...sure as hell is.

However:

I still actually like all the interactions with the girls. Still one of the best around for that. The renders,, especially atmosphere and lighting, is still without a doubt, bar none, the best in the AVN sphere. Little details also matter, and Ocean is very good at those, very very good. Have to really look at each render to see the slightest of things that tell you something. Most will probably never notice them...oh well. I do and greatly appreciate it.

Is it still in my list of favourite VN's currently? Yes, very much so and despite the dumb plot now, I doubt that will change any time soon, though hey, each update is an opportunity for that to change. Will I continue to play it? Yes, though I maybe do now have one big toe off the train, where as before this update, both feet were firmly planted inside.

Is Katie still the best and hottest AVN girl ever? Damn sure....that alone counts for a whole lot and thankfully, their interactions are still great despite the lack of a bloodline.

So all in all, I am slightly disappointed but hell, at least we still have her:

I basically agree on pretty much everything. The only positives this has left (besides of course Ocean's talent as an artist) are the interactions with the side characters and all the side plots. I loved every second spent with Gina and Kat. Zoe actually grew on me and I thoroughly enjoyed their business endeavour shenanigans. The only time spent with Miru I enjoyed was the apartment tour in chapter 4. She got done dirty imo. Katie has a few moments here and there when the retarded plot isn't mentioned. And I want more from Mon and Daphne.

Everything else is an abomination in my eyes. And whatever "testers" Ocean has are certainly chimps with cerebral palsy because the amount of grammar errors is still too high for something that was cooking for over a year and a half. Render errors too. Case and point:

I don't think Jabba the Don is supposed to be illiterate. I call the tard Giopepe as mockery. I don't think she meant to do the same.

I was surprised he dropped that info this "early." One of the best pastimes of Oceanverse is connecting the two stories (ignoring the whole planned five thing). I guess I'm supposed to care that someone will show up in the future of WiaB and I'll jump up like Leo in his chair in that one gif and scream "That's Nika's dad!"

It's hard to "like" characters that get introduced later into a story unless they make a splash (that's a Dana joke). By the time the mom actually showed up in How I Met Your Mother, most people that watched it were already checked out. I guess time will tell but right now it's hard to imagine giving a fuck about Nami and Nika's eventual parents.

It's hard to "like" characters that get introduced later into a story unless they make a splash (that's a Dana joke). By the time the mom actually showed up in How I Met Your Mother, most people that watched it were already checked out. I guess time will tell but right now it's hard to imagine giving a fuck about Nami and Nika's eventual parents.

Yeah Ocean's games I play purely for the characters I don't even care about the story. Tho this one I only play for Miru cause I can't remember anyone else until I do a fresh replay of the game. I don't even know what the Main plot line even is in SG lol

Ocean tends to do character dynamics well. The fact SG doesn't have a literal "this is the main plot" helps it. It lets the focus shine on the interactions between Nika and everyone.

Compare that to WiaB, where the focus could have been on Will and his interactions with the others but there's more to it, bloating it.
