But you're looking at it from the wrong perspective. This generation of players who are "five-years-and-no-progress-dont-you-even-try-to-keep-me-here-ima-leaving-now" will go away and the fresh blood from Steam will replace them. So, for the dev, losing a part of the audience due to the slow development is not a big problem. As well as for that part of the fanbase that is not fixated on the certain game of the certain developer.Passion lasts for a limited time. Even though I still praise Ocean's creative level at present, the fact is that his works really take many years to complete ( assuming he will persist until they are completed ), but by then I will probably have lost myself in the trivial matters of life.
And the cooling down of interest in the game... well, every day a new shiny AVN appears, which overshadows yesterday's favorite and keeps you occupied. With a new update, interest will return. At least this is how it works for me.
