People complain about it being 1 april joke, yet some of us stil have 3 hours left until 1 april.
Also, downloaded test/alpha versions is rarely a good idea as such version many times will end up corrupting ur savefile so that when the full version releases u need to start a new game to be able to play. Take care of ur ctrl by skipping such version

The pirate code is "you don't steal from a fellow pirate or all loot should be equally distributed "This Honnor among thieves is very stupid... I mean how can you call yourself a pirate and attack someone that is doing what a pirate should do "stealing content" you are a hypocrite if you attack me.
And that "unplayable test version" you are speaking about, how do you know it's unplayable. You only got the dev's word to back that up...but you don't know that for sure. You can see they are mad because of the leak and want to delay the game because of it
.A leak is not someone sabotaging the code and now we need extra time to make things right. If they were professional they will have kept their mouth shut to release the game when it was ready and dealt whit the QC guy in private.This is really disappointing if the dev has this kind of mentality when something stupid "Leaking a build" happens.

We know it's unplayable because people have downloaded it and it doesn't have the .exe needed to run it nor any images....
The devs only said it came from their beta testers.

Next time, each tester should have a different version of the game. Make them different with an inconspicuous markup in the code so you can tell them apart. Or by marking them on some renders. Anything so you can tell them apart. Even if it leaks a second time, you'll be able to identify the rat.

There's definitely more than just one rat. It's why they should just shit can their entire QC team and find new people that they can hopefully trust better. It's going to leak here at some point but they should at least be able to trust their beta testers won't be the ones to do that or at least not until they've got a full release out for their patrons. This "joke" was more of an insult than anything. The fact it's being pointed out as such on a pirate forum is ironic.
Obviously, it wasn't a complete build of the beta. Whoever leaked it, removed most of the files like the executable and the game folder files so nobody could actually play it on here and left an image of "the game is better" in the main folder as a ridiculous joke. Guess you missed the majority of what people have been talking about huh? Instead of bothering to read about what happened, you chose to just insult the dev? Not a good look doing that. This wasn't on the developer, this was on one or more of the beta testers that decided to be douchebags as an april fool's joke.WOW... I have nothing to say...I have worked in the QC department for 3 years after College I know how egotistical you developers can get.
But why call a beta a 50% script missing build?... Why send a build that is half done to be tested QC?...If he QC encounters a bug or a glitch how will they report if they don't know 50 % of the script is missing? Will it not make it hard for you as a developer to correct whit an incomplete build. Anyway, what is a ALFA BUILD for you?
Or are you referring to 50% script as on Dialogue ? because that is sadder...All my QC career was reporting dialogue bugs in my native language

This test build is a joke that contains no images or even a working executable... and even if it did, it also is lacking other key files that would be necessary to even start the test version of the episode. And the reason we are active and vocal about this even before we confirmed it was a joke, is because we have in the past released a public test build to our patreons before (that also filtered to here) and learned what a mistake it was and learned from it. Even with the vast feedback, the headaches it caused for us and players alike down the road wasn't worth it.
A professional also cares about his reputation with the community and that his word means something (even among pirates and privateers)! Getting peoples hopes up we had a release and wasting their mega cap in several cases could reflect negatively on us as some sort of publicity stunt that is both foolish and beneath us.
A professional also cares that when his trust is extended, it is returned. We have maintained a small, tight nit group of testers and occasional contract temps, but at the same time allowed some top tier patreons to rotate in as part of our tier benefits. Which is something we have to reconsider on top of likely dismissing several innocent testers who just happened to be new. All this means that now in the crunch time before an update we are going to have that many fewer people beta testing. Which means it could take longer or that it could have more bugs on release.
None of this is beneficial to anyone in our view. Now tell me more about what it means to be professional. If you find one that is.

Exactly, also a joke is supposed to make you laugh, but this is as much the fault of whoever released this and the "moderator" that put the links in this thread to waste those people's bandwidth.
(I was lucky to look for mod walkthrough and did see it was an "Aprils" joke, then read the forum, but I will be pissed off if I had wasted 3.7gb though not with the devs, because the only ones that can add links here are moderators/staff and uploaders so the fault should be theirs.)

Its funny how this "joke" just changed my mind on playing one on my son today April fools day. but I was not duped as I first checked the link for the update and as a patron of the game I want a full game not a test. and you whom have done this do not understand how hurtful it is as we love the game and would wait as long as we needed to get a full update. your pleasure may have been sated with this but you villainy is that of a viper your need for attention that of a gold digger. and as in the game you too will be dumped as soon as the MC learns who you are. or may be treat you like Natasha during the pool table scene. just maybe.
