I don't really get it, either. Most of the girls are clearly willing to do group stuff, enjoy other girls, and ADORE the MC.
The only reason to not have a harem ending is...because.

So I haven't played the game in forever, just ran through the remake and I gotta say, Monica is a fucking hypocrite bitch. Which would be fine... if the characters in the game acknowledged it and treated it like shitty behavior instead of just pretending she's normal.
Case in point, she straight up sexually harasses a guy literally young enough to be her son. One who she basically raised as her own child. Now far be it from me to cast aspersions, its a porn game after all. Buuuut where I draw the line is that while she's doing all this suuuuper sketchy behavior she absolutely flips her shit if he want to date either of her daughters. Not two time them. Not mess around with them. If the MC shows any open interest at all, she slaps him down hard and tries to make it seem like the MC is the one being inappropriate. Again, it would be fine if the game pointed out that she's basically being a lonely creep who obviously wants to keep this boy she groomed just for herself (its funny cause its a porn game).
I almost always play maximum slut so I can catch all the content on one playthrough and she does look great in the new renders, but I think since I'm repeating anyway I'll do someting different this time. Should I shut her down hard right from the get go? Or lead her on waaaaaaay far, then nail and bail on her and replace her with her own daughters?

I get you. I came to the conclusion that it's probably overzealous signaling. So we understand there will not be a MC, mommy, daughter, daughter foursome. I just started choosing the responses that made her happy and that trait disappears... Well, right up until she finds out you are fucking both of her daughters. Heh

ill be glad when you get back to the actual game so we can get to the actual ending of the VN it is bad enough we can only end up with one woman at the end except for one who is cool with you having or sleeping with more than 1 woman otherwise you have to pick 1 woman but that i can get over it although grudgingly and get back to actual story instead of remaking the whole game . but it is what it is i suppose

The game's female characters are almost universally accepting of polyamorous relationships. That's just the way WtHI has been written to this point. In the best scene of the game so far the MC is with 3 girls at once, everyone has an amazing time, and nobody has any regrets. Almost every girl in the game is in at least a BGG threesome with the MC and enjoys it. Again, this isn't my opinion. This is the way the game-world has been constructed to this point.
I'm not saying its realistic in our world to have a harem and keep everyone happy indefinitely. But this is a game. You can bend the rules a little...as we already have clearly done in having a single random male hook up with 15 different women on 50 different occasions in the course of...a month?
Monogamy is a cultural norm, and not the "correct" choice anyway.
As of the pre-remake old game latest episode you could have a happy relationship simultaneously with no less than
-Jenna (who literally LOVES watching you fuck other women)
-Debbie (so long as you also pick up Lily)
-Lily (as long as she likes you enough)
-Katie (not sure what variables she requires though)
And possibly Jolina as well. That's four to five women, nearly half of the games LI's, and far far cry from monogamy.

The correct choice depends on the individuals involved. Monogamy is the "easiest" option because every person you add to a relationship increases the complexity of that relationship and the chance that it fails. However, there have certainly been times where polyamorous relationships succeeded.

It's as is it sounds, a lot of the game has been remastered and a few things have been changed in the script. But all 24 episodes have not been completed yet with the remaster. It's more or less the same game with updated visuals and some script changes/changes in the story (nothing major).
Also, none of the "fun mods" work with the remaster, once the remaster finishes the "fun mode" will be updated.
Go into your data folder (appdata) and delete the hidden save directory (and ones in game directory) and see if that fixes it.

I did say "relationships" and not "encounters". That's my bad.
But let's count them.
The following characters have satisfying "encounters" with the MC and at least one other female: Katie, Jenna, Debbie, Lily, Wanda, Angel, Jolina, Zarah, and Monica (just the ones I could recall quickly).
That's pretty much everyone. These characters are written to be exceedingly agreeable to sharing the MC.
