Why couldn't the dev simply finish the game before putting it onto Steam? A complete product straight onto Steam, or is the point that he plans to cash in from each season separately and if he completed it beforehand, then the potential buyers might be rather reluctant to invest if they knew that they'd need to buy 5-6 separate seasons for the full experience?

This game wasn't bad and had quite a few unique strengths imho, the way how the scenes played out was pretty well done and the pacing of the scenes was great as well (in combination with the models it was a pretty great 8/10 experience), but as always a good product has to be milked and the income has to be maximized, even if the dev hasn't had a good work ethic for the last few years (1 update per year isn't really sufficient, especially if you get paid enough money to do it full time) he wants to get paid like a CEO, and I guess i cannot blame him at this point, cuz if you hit it off on Steam/GOG it might get you far more money then you'd ever be able to dream of on Patreon...

But I still think that the dev either should've first completed the game, or worked on an update while also reworking scenes on the side. Right now he's 100% going in on the milking which might turn off anyone on f95 who might have considered supporting them on Steam/GOG.

The Devs have a history of stopping payment when not meeting deadlines. Not sure what they do now since 24 came out but, unless you have facts to back this up, I recommend you vote with your feet and leave.

There's one more update left, possibly two. Once the redo of the few early eps and finishes the game, he'll be puttin it on Steam. At least that's how I understood it when CheekyGimp talked about it.

I'd rather the developers release a finished version of episode 25 soon than a remake, I've been waiting for years for this and I don't want to have to wait a few more years for the finale

How so? That's exactly what I did, so I agree with him. It's not hard, just get a few doctors to back you up and a couple other hoops to jump through. There's agencies that will do most of the work for you for a fee (and sometimes even that is waived). Not to mention mental disability is far easier to go with than Plan B, letting a train remove your limbs.
Was that plan passed down from great-grandpa Loli to grandpa Loli to dad Loli to son Loli? You sound so proud of yourself.
I did it the wrong way I worked for 43 years. Man, I can't look at myself in the mirror now.

I'm going to guess that CheekyGimp is doing what he thinks is best for his future earnings.
It's not like he feels any responsibility to the whining members here. Just a guess. :sneaky:

After looking at the Patreon numbers, I can't say that I sympathize too much with any complaints about low wages. 4300$ per month is 3x! what the dev of Thirsty for my Guest earns. And he releases 1000+ render updates every two months with dozens of animations. 4300$ is top 1% earnings for an avn.

Redoing the renders like a maniac can lead to burn out. Best mental health when enjoying the work. Upgrading images is a grind.
Are you really acting like $4,300 a month is some kind of gravy train? It's not. After Patreon's cut and taxes they would have nowhere near $4,300 left per month, probably significantly less than $3,000. The fact that $4,300 is in the top 1% just goes to show how unhealthy an industry patreon development actually is.

Look at yourself and affirm: unlike that other guy, you are not a waste of skin and air.

50 year old man being a dick and getting in petty arguments on a forum for porn games. Genuinely one of the saddest things i've encountered. Christ.
I'm old yes and still human last I checked and humans are pretty fuckin petty. The entire human race is nothin but petty ass parasites. Have a wonderful night/day/mornin.

The first chapters really needed a rework, especially for a Steam release. Not to sound rude, but the renders were awfully bad. The lighting and skins were all over the place, miles away from the quality they are nowadays. I will wait for them to finish season 1 to replay tho.

here is my unofficial Android port of Where The Heart S1-Beta.
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

from now on my Android ports of Ren'Py games have a 2nd, persistent save location like Windows. if you uninstall an app, the save files and persistent data remain intact.
therefore the app needs the permission to access the public external storage (or a new one on Android 11+), because it has to read and write outside its own external storage directories.
you have to grant the permission or the app is shut down.

have fun and please report problems (you can reach me ).

My assumption is that Patreon will take around 30% and then the remaining is split for the team as he is not a lone dev. So it's most likely nowhere near $4300/month for Cheeky himself. But as I mentioned a year ago, the issue is that it became below minimum wage "per hour" in which the amount of hours worked is decided by himself. So he could simply reduce the amount of hours worked per month if he wanted to increase the "per hour" wage. Ultimately, the monthly income stays the same.

My biggest disappointment is the timing of it. We all know that the game was very close to the end. I thought Cheeky would've owed it to his patrons of 4-5 years to first finish the game before moving to Steam project (whether it's WTHI or a new game). But I guess the lure of Steam money is too strong. Not blaming him for chasing the money, I can't remember what porn game it was I saw on Steam that celebrated "1 million copy" sold. No idea whether that's a lie from that dev or not, but if a game really can sell 1 million copy on Steam for like $10-$15 price, that's significantly more money than what one get from Patreon.

Just play the S1 beta / demo
Amazing renders remake & animations
All girls more stunning / beautiful
Especially Jenna ( she doesn't look pale like previous build , but no problem for me )
Zarah also more attractive than before
Thanks for the update
Real shit, the remake is pretty good. Although not on the level of something like 'Shut up and Dance'.
Just hope they can pump out the chapters quickly.

The game is Fresh Women, I think it sold in the range you gave. But it is not a solo dev it's a team of 3-4 out of Brazil. Even at the low end of $10 a copy after Steams cut and government greedy sticky fingers still a nice chunk of change.

Patreon take 8% and there is transaction fees (for the banks). They are a team of 2, they might have commissioned some things to third party, and they plan to hire a 3rd member

Just hope they can pump out the chapters quickly.
That's why he said he'll quit his job and work full time on this game and future one
