I truly believed that after all this time, most of us had developed a greater sense of maturity and fairness.
I understand that this is a pirate forum, but we must still consider both sides of the issue. If we cannot exercise even a minimal amount of restraint and wait a few days before receiving an update for free, we are ultimately undermining the very source that benefits us all. Mr. Fable has shown nothing but fairness and generosity toward this community.....from patiently answering the most basic and sometimes stupid questions to consistently providing the latest updates. The least we can do is extend him the same respect and patience by refraining from immediately leaking new releases.
Respect is not a one-way street.
If this pattern continues, there will come a day when no updates are provided at all. Let us be honest: no one enjoys working for free indefinitely. He would not be the first developer whose efforts have been destroyed by such behavior.
Dude, do you realize that this is not the problem for a long time? There are plenty of people willing to pay for content, including here. Do you know what's stopping you? "External factors". I would gladly shower the author with money through a subscription, but now from my hole I can only pay with crypto, and then through a shit ton of problems. I would gladly take the alternative route and pay him for the game on Steam, but there is no early access for such games anymore. If he divides the game into seasons and asks for 20-40 bucks for each, I will buy it, I like his game.
There are still enough people who can subscribe and do this AFTER visiting such forums, because they liked the game and want the author to finish it.
I like the premise and approve of it. There are just a lot of things that prevent it from being implemented. The person who uploaded the update asked to subscribe if you can and you like the game. That's enough in places like this.
And
Mr Fable, are you thinking about releasing it on major platforms? Steam or maybe GOG. Your game doesn’t have what payment systems and other crazy people are now complaining about, but I, and I think a couple of other people, would be happy to pay you for your work.
No, you very clearly don't. It's also not as destructive or an end-of-the-world scenario as you're framing it as. If people want to support then they already are doing so or will do so eventually while the other half will just wait for a "hero" to show up. It's also just goofy to try to take a moral standing on what you yourself acknowledge is a PIRATE FORUM. Is it a good thing? No, not really. But it's also not some tragic "the game is going to DIE and the dev is gonna STARVE to death now" thing. Sometimes people leak early, other times they don't. Shit happens. It doesn't mean the game will suddenly make zero earnings.
He can express it, there is nothing wrong with that.
