First thank you for the update. Second is there a specific way we should be adding it to the steam folders because through steam it still asks me to purchase it? I tried the verify option and clearing cache for steam which should have worked.

You don't need Steam. Leave Steam out of it. It was extracted from Steam for PC users to play without Steam. Just play it normally like every other game on this site.

So I have now played some on the new update. They have put thought into it. I tried a new game since my legendary armors were gone and also would like to see the update from a fresh start. So lets just say

- its way more grindy now, the update has focused much on gathering, you gotta gather way more resources as of the new update, which makes it more grindy, which also forces your player to put yourself out there. To me personally, I was fine with how it was, i dont think we need more complex crafting recipies and more resources to gather/convert - the game was more balanced the way it was in that aspect - I would have preferred if they had actually put more emphasis on acutal gameplay - discovery and fighting mechanics instead - but thats my opinion.

As some of us feared, stamina is now even worse than before - and that paired up with the more grindy gameplay for resources and recipies, it gets very tedious sadly since you have to sit down every 30 seconds. Something needs to be done about that, like maybe keep the stamina drain when facing enemies, but when faced with the increased grind of gathering, it disrupts the gameplay a fair bit sadly, this was better before the update (and even then it was almost too much at times). So that needs to be fixed, or enable to manage your inventory while resting or something, or just buff the effects of resting, something needs to be done to balance this out - its too much as of now I think.

So my gameplay reaction to this was sadly to cheat (get armors and swords or at least tools and crafting stations - to offset the increased grind + stamnina degen and just sandbox around levelling up offensive abilities instead of gathering abilities).

So for me I lost a bit of interest in playing another clean save game because of all this. Maybe I should just continue my lvl 67 character I dont know. There are improvements in graphics and in sex scenes for e.g. - so its not all bad, but I think they focused too much on the wrong things - more content and discovery would have been what I had preferred but instead they focused on other aspects - which are fine, if it hadnt been for the stamina issue which really wants me to neclect the whole gathering aspect of the game because you spend way too much time being idle - its a game I dont wanna sit around and medidate after each tree I cut down.

You are the hero we don't deserve. Thanks mate I know this wasn't just a copy/paste effort. You made the Steam version work for us as well as the updaters and I am very appreciative :)
Very well said. Thank you again QuickWithIt!

Have the animations improved yet? I remember playing not long ago and being surprised at how awful the animations still were after all this time.

Well after trying this build - in some ways I like the evolution and stability seems to be slowing improving.
  • The bug w the sex anims seems to have been addressed by having the PC undress /lose armor. Which isn't bad (but one does have to remember to get dressed again)
  • Generally I think I am liking this more and more. So now my complaining (in context of generally seeing the game getting more stable and better overall)
  • Stamina: yeah, while I did not mind the stamina impacts of earlier revisions this time it's gotten a bit far. I have a level 105 PC (yeah... from 8.6 era) and even she has stamina challenge. I will try restart character probably but this goes a bit far.
  • the new crafting I like in some ways - and things that are annoying (hello Cooking Oil and goddamn bottles!!) I can buy in the village so... okay - I have the habit of harvesting like crazy by spamming E while moving around so getting fiber to craft cloth and then cloth to cloth boots actually isn't hard and quite profitable both in money and in skill increase)
  • The grind though on getting sand now seems totally pointless - I think it was originally to force people to get out into desert but now you have cactus and insect meat. Hopefully he gets the msg and adds sand or at least glass as a buyable (having the buyables I think mostly mitiga
  • But I do hope the Dev hears the msg in Discord (more new stuff, less fucking around with crafting, and I see multiple people asking for sex moves of various types - sex combat, defeat etc - hopefully he hears msg that okay neat the new stuff but... dammit substance in the next update, not retweaking crafting again.

I do think that the latest stamina revision went to far - earlier complaints (Bipo et co) I was kinda like well, an energy potion and being more slut route than combat route, shrugged off. But this build my two PC routes, 67 and 105, it's really noticeable. I think a new start (which I will try I think) will be frustrating.

on other hand it is getting more stable and the animations issues are geting chipped away at (haven't though tried dungeon as past record says probably better to wait for big round of bug fixes)

I agree, aside from the stamina apocalypse its actually better than I imagined. Besides the crafting revamp, there are a few additions to this build that are pretty cool. I won't spoil anyone's experience by disclosing what or where they are tho. But I can say that the Royal Blade was added to replace one of the Disgrace spears. It seems most weapon's stats were changed and now the Royal Blade is not as good as the Punisher. I was really hoping to get the Runic Blade instead, but oh well.

And parrying finally got fixed. I'm very happy about that. But holy shit the monsters are hitting hard now and its dangerous to parry with low armor. Even the low level wasps are dealing 150+ dmg and nearly one shotting me. I ended up dominating a werewolf and leveling it to help keep me alive.

Most things seem to weigh more now as well. This makes it more important to level Might especially since keeping a lot of food in the inventory is going to be beneficial. But yea overall I'm liking this update. Haven't had that genuine concern about getting killed in a long time. And I'm not even playing survival mode.

Your statement about trying a new start, is me every single update.
I don't carry over my old characters to test out 'new stuff', mostly because my old characters are completely over powered and can crush pretty much anything they encounter, so nerfs to things don't feel as impactful.
However, ....
When you start a new character, you can really feel the changes. Which is why I am usually bitching and griping about stamina nerfs or armor nerfs or harvesting/crafting nerfs.

Just some random things:

In this version Bronze was changed to an actual alloy, so you need to mine copper, tin, and some coal, to make bronze. Doesn't sound horrible until you realize that a single BRONZE pickax (or ax) now requires 12 bronze ingots to make, it used to be 3 or 4 ingots.
Don't forget that on a new character you are only gaining 1 copper/tin/coal ore per ore node 'level' that you mine. So, a copper node will only give you 3 or 4 pieces of ore.

On a 'positive' note:
Hyped buff grants +4 stamina regen, which is godly in this game. Sit down and rest for about a minute of real time and you should have the hyped buff for about 5 minutes or so to harvest/mine/chop whatever you can. Well rested is +3 and rested is +2 stamina. If you wear the rabbit mask from Isabel's tower and some soup/bread, +75 stamina can go a long ways when you are 'hyped'.

Time to dive back into the game on my new character ... I have to go hunting for Iron.

The armor is bit weird now compared to previously, but I think it might be better. Time will tell, but there is a light and heavy version of armor in their respective range. The heavy armor will usually take a lot of ingots, but the light armor usually takes about same as they used to. However, the tradeoff is that it requires a lot of silk or leather. Silk is a bit of a pain, but iron can be mined while silk farming.

Also, Legendary armor is in the map somewhere I just haven't found it yet. There is also "consort" armor which basically took the place of Royal armor and from what I've seen it looks really cool. I haven't found where to acquire/craft them, but I have found where to upgrade them. I might be holding the clue and don't know it, but I don't wanna ask discord I'd rather search and find it on my own for now.

Also also, armor upgrades don't cost crystals anymore. Now they cost crystal shards which I've mainly found on nightmares, but they are also in the crystal chests. Regardless, they are not limited like the crystals so feel free to upgrade what you like. I'm currently using the Scouts armor which is light armor and its not that great really, but I upgraded it to tier 2 and that was enough to keep me from getting one shotted. Takes a lot of silk tho.

The Royal Blade was added and I had thought that it was reduced in stats because I noticed the Punisher is just a bit better than it is regarding stats. But the Punisher used to be the same as the Black Steel Greatsword except it had more duration. Now the Punisher is way better than the Black Steel Greatsword so I was mistaken about the Royal Blade being reduced and instead the Punisher was hella buffed.
