I struggled understanding what you're trying to say, but I think I agree ?
I'm also not judging people for trying to make ends meet. I'ts hard out here. It's just too common to loose sight of why you originally wanted to make a game, especially if it's profitable. Milking is easyer than making a new project after all. It's just so tempting and human to want that stability. Dev's get too compfortable for their own good sometimes.
Not that I'm saying this Dev has done this, just speaking in gerenal.
Anyways, it's always sad to see talented individuells go, whatever reasons they may have.
No offense. A technicality, but isn't it referred to as being, professional, getting paid for it? So like in the Olympics, until the recent Olympics, professional, versus the Olympian. Of course they get paid anyway, but not as much upon representing their country. They were enthusiasts, and hobbyists, they did it for the passion and even the career of it, heart and soul and dream, and not the money. The bigger difference until the likes of tennis, depriving opportunity of amateurs, and a few other sports, which I don't agree with, supposedly the amateur status, and that difference is the professional in their big corporate clubs and events, got paid a lot more, and an amateur was representing their sports. Although many after medals become professionals.
Applying that thought, what exactly is it when they're releasing content for a payday, otherwise they often don't keep up with it? In any event money often became the motivation. Until it corrupts? We cannot fault anybody for trying or profiting, and absolutely, it's a shame when it doesn't complete an entry. As gamer you want to complete a game.
