Combat is early WIP.
Upgrades just push the "maximum" ceiling. Reputation is what controls the profit.
Upgrades stack up.
Building upgrades+improvements+talents+skills+proficienties+reputation+energy+mood.
At the early game, you make ~500-800. By day 50 2-4k. Everything maxed out. 4-8k. There's a difference.
Also, why are you trying to be a completionist in a game that is still WIP?
I design game systems with end game in my head and the game is far from the finished state.
You don't need S+ skills, max talents or max establishment upgrades at this stage of development. B-ranks, mid upgrades are enough to make good money. No one forcing you to grind. If you don't like grind, don't force it upon yourself. Once you reach the last bit of current story, take a break and come back once another couple of updates roll out. It's not necessary at this stage of development to max/buy/train everything that is available.
Sex training is quick, by day 50 you can skip lobby and live off from passive outcome.
You earn "only" 5-7k a day. That's a lot. It would be silly of me design a game with multiple upgrades and establishment which can be upgraded to the max in the first week.
And finally, I can't make a game to fit everyone's preferences. I don't think the game is grindy, but there are people who would rather play my game as pure vn, no gameplay, others report that they replayed my game three times no problem.
I can't satisfy everyone. I design the game after myself. What feels right.
What I'd like to change is to add a better "tips" system. A lot of people probably skip EN, Mood and talent importance and think my game is too hard. It's not. By day 50 game becomes stale as you able to buy everything up, train girls to at least B-A, and generate more money than you need. At least with previous knowledge of how to play efficiently, but it still should be OK for new players if they take their time to build some stuff and take care of courtesans.
Though I appreciate your feedback. I won't deny, the game is far from perfect. I tweak and change my game a lot and I will continue tweaking it until it's done to offer a great experience without mundane repetition.
Though it's a brothel management game. Some sort of daily grind is just a part of this type of games.

He probably has his reasons, and we can only guess what the real problem was. Perhaps he began to dislike the idea of NTR, or maybe some weirdos cried too loudly, these are just speculations. Still, I agree with everyone who says you should expect this sort of thing from a brothel‑management game.

How stupid are people??? People back than working in Brothels was not fucking NTR! It was a job back than a legitimate job of woman! I don't like NTR but this isn't NTR and calling it NTR is brain dead! The NTR haters have gone way too fucking far when a legitimate job in that time is being called NTR! The anti-NTR crowd appears to think they 'own' all 'potential love interests' who must remain chaste and pure except with the main character, always, forever.
They should stay far away from any brothel game or game that isn't dedicated full harem, but instead they show up everywhere and scream.

Chill, dude. Personally, I don’t think it’s NTR per se, but I understand where they’re coming from. To me, NTR basically means the love interest gets fucked by someone else, so essentially just cheating. But in this game, there’s no relationship between the love interest and the MC.irc.

Nah his furor is reasonable imo, this pernicious attitude has spread far and wide on the site and the avn ecosystem, strangling creativity of new games.
I'm curious as well - in general I've heard from many who enjoy management/pimping style games and this one has a cool setting. I'm surprised we dont see more of these, I don't have a good reason tbh

Are you talking about like a fanmade plot and ending and everything?
Would have to pick up the dev's code, as well, no?
Maybe I'm dim, but I don't see much reason to pick this game back up.
Though I do technically like this one more, because of the tons of animated stuff here, instead of stills during work hours, like it is in REFINE rn.

The current situation on erogames is rather.. sad. Flooded with AI slop or more of the same. I have the feeling that more complex games arent worth it and RenPy Novels (good ones and bad ones) bring more money in. But maybe I'm just pessimistic and I overlook good ones

The Dev has abandoned it. And stopped working on erogames completely. So nothing would stop anyone who has the skill and muse to finish/complete/whatever it. I mean we all can be okay with the "Remake" thats completly different, but looking into this thread I see many are dissapointed with the "Remake". So I wonder, why didnt anyone started to finish it themself.

Refine is complete, or as complete as it's going to be and the dev has since quit making games entirely.
The part that I'm always stunned by is going to a game where you manage hookers, and getting irate that the hookers hook.

Yep. And it happens pretty much in the thread for every single game that's a brothel or has prostitution as a focus. It's bad enough when the tag is on the game and people act surprise, but it's even worse when it's in the game's description. And I'm really tempted to put complainers on Ignore when a word like "Brothel" is in the name itself. It's like, "Dude, do you even know how to read?"
Porn game players that read?? Thats an extremely rare species.
But yeah its a pity the game stopped so abruptly.
