Perhaps but the point he made and that I backed is that they shouldn't have ever bothered doing the whole sandbox thing, we know they are doing story, but they may have gone further if they always focused on just that and didn't bother adding sandbox (which must have taken some work to implement even if it's pretty bare bones).

Wild Life's sandbox is amazing and is loved by the active members in the official WL server, it's clearly well received. Just have patience, they are working on the story and give updates on progress almost every report on Patreon. Sandbox guarantees longevity for Wild Life versus just doing the campaign for (x) amount of hours and being done with the game. It's definitely a great addition.

The level is just the dropship that is avaiable in the vanilla sandbox editor, and I added some nice light meshes with the area lights. The characters are custom built with the included editor.Where did you get this information ? What kind of update would that be?
I thought the next thing they gonna release is the UE5 build which will take some time I suppose.

I can't really tell you with certainty but the devs always promise an update every 3 months sooo mid december is would be a patch expected given their routine schedule

Sure, if that's what you like, but the argument to be made is that most of the player base of this game according to discord and also this thread. Is that they prefer the sandbox, you're in the minority here. Thus, them making sandbox was not a bad choice.
