the ue5 game version keeps crashing in play for my inlike ue4
Because they gave a false timeline for UE5 conversion when they definitely knew better. They hoped it would be better off than it should have been but there was no way in hell this would have made the time table they gave. They simply pushed out what was done to meet that time table. The reality is it was all a really bad decision and they should have never given such a time for the sole sake of hyping for holidays, nor should they have released such a problematic update that will only upset and negatively impact their supporters. It was, all around, a very stupid decision. Hopefully dev learns their lesson about such promotions and improper updates, assuming they can take sincere feedback without wounding their ego. I don't know them nor have I kept up with this thread so I've no idea what kind of people they are but this entire conversion was mishandled and there is no way they ever thought this was a reasonable expectation considering what it entailed at their level of experience.

For the time being you want to strictly stay on UE4 unless you're very bored and want to tinker with the update, for minimal benefits for now.

Harsh criticism aside, I think the jump to UE5 is a good move as UE4 is simply too limiting and UE5 has a great deal of potential. They're one of the earlier projects to do so, in fact even with the shitty state they're one of the only devs on it at all as of current with all others simply projecting into the future with unknown ETAs. I'm sure they will get it smoothed out eventually and I'm confident the move will be worth it considering what UE5 is capable of.

On a totally unrelated note I hope devs are considering allowing for the importing of custom UE5 models at some point on their list of to dos. I know a lot of people want this. At the very least, I hope we see improvements in the current models as they're, if I'm being brutally honest, so fucking ugly I wont play the game until this is fixed. Fortunately, this is very fixable and once fixed the game has plenty of other stuff going for it but it really has to have its core aspect, sex and character visuals, at a satisfactory level and it simply isn't right now. Its a shame such a solid project fails in such a critical area, and so severely at that it can't be easily overlooked, its pushing away some of its potential playerbase.

when you start the game the VR headset goes to black screen.
After you enter a game (sandbox, etc), press CRTL+0 to render in the headset, then it goes to VR rendering.
Do you use SteamVR ? Since the UE5 builds, SteamVR doesn't start anymore when I launch the game. If I launch it beforehand and use the VR shortcut, it switch to the headset (valvle index for me) but it's broken. Only one eye is kinda working.

The previous builds still works.

Any ideas ?

I have problems with VR as well. I kinda got it to work by going into the room setup options on steam VR and using the standing only option instead of room scale. However, i dont know if this will fix your one eye problems since both work for me.

Another problem is that the camera controls are now all messed up. While before you could easily move around using the mouse, now the camera seems to orbit around a point in the middle of the scene and you can barely move that point around it seems. Also, that point can't be moved down towards the ground. I can only get it to roughly hip height, which means that you can only look at some of the scenes from above in kind of weird angles.

I hope some of the patreons will address that and they will set it up like it was in UE4, but i dont think that fixing VR stuff will be high up their list of things to fix.

Bruh UE5 first version seem doesn't fit with my potato PC by waiting an hour the loading to start menu game... Anyone got same problem like me?
Same here: never ending loading screen. I have an old Geforce GTX 750. Maybe that will not run any longer :-( Do you got any update on your issue?

SteamVr is not in use anymore with the UE5 build.

I messed around with AI art and made few AI generated pictures of old characters I made in the WL

after tweaking in game model's skin color a bit it became pretty nice dialogue box for an example map:

Pretty nice way to make maps a bit more immersive I reckon. Added example map if someone wants to check out badly made (but simple to understand) dialogue system. One can also do multi branching dialogue with this one quite easily but idk how performance hogging it would be to have like 100 buttons on the map in comparison to some more complicated event system. Still this seemed much easier to create than event system which makes my head to spin.

EKL How do I get characters to follow me? I don't know if there's something in the way, but when I take them out of pose mode and tell them to follow, they don't come and get stuck on something.
