Hello, friends, you're picking on each other.
This is how we move forward. My worst enemies are now my best friends.
HHHEE Steve, content, yes, have you thought about an inertia parameter? NOOOOOOO;
You should have started there, my friend, and the self-erasing materials, the arm spacing in the "hands go through the buttocks" pose when modifying a character?
You know we're talking pro, I think you know me, browse this forum a little more, there's hope.
Thanks, Steve.
(Here, take a look for fun , I'll animate your prop test map with your permission, of course...
problem with the Unreal 5 engine. I can check it on my workstation. A shader issue, collisions...)
I'm a French artist, historian, and musician, so that might help. My work can be found in many video games.

Hello to your colleagues.

Because we see time and time and time again developers come here, get leaked here, share here, or whatever else - only for people to say "Oh there is no sex scenes... Game bad." but then, when they add more scenes people then complain about a lack of "real content" and that the game is a "gallery viewer" as above. We even see it on the team I'm working with... It's constant crying with a see-saw effect.

The problem isn't the development or their teams, the issue is the playerbase(s) of said products not being able to make up their fucking minds... Do people want a game with a focus on adult content or do they want a game with a story? Sure - a game can include both, but it takes time - especially with smaller indie developer teams.
While there is some truth to that, let's be realistic here. Most of the games on here are not complex/deep games. If it wasn't for sex, most of these games wouldn't exist. Hence why they're called adult games. Therefore when a dev wants $10/mo for their adult "game" which is unlikely to have any deep gameplay or story, then yes it had better have sex scenes. Again, be honest here, how many of these games could maintain any amount of subscribers based on the quality of their "story" alone if they didn't have sex? I mean what percentage of the stories of these games amount to either dad is dead, so now I'm going to bang my family and/or neighbors or I'm a poor kid who's going to overcome my childhood and bang everything? And the devs hope to be able to milk that for 5+ years. That's absolutely a development problem. Especially for devs that only release a couple of updates a year and you can play through those updates in ~10 minutes. That's just milking your supporters, pure and simple. It's not like the bulk of them have much replayability. You're not going to start a new game and get a completely different story. At best you might get to bang different characters.

Wild Life from the beginning is advertised as an open world adult RPG. It's original trailer was 6 years ago. Early development footage 8+ years ago. The game is supposed to have a 2026 release yet it's RPG functionality is largely non-existant. The only dev notes I see in the last year that are actually gameplay mechanics related is work on combat. Work on combat is important to be sure, but there's nothing about questions/missions, skills/traits, or pretty much anything else you expect to see in an RPG. Like Maya/story.

When you look at how much money they're bringing in compared to the bulk of porn games, it basically it feels like the porn version of Star Citizen from a development standpoint. Yes it's pretty. Yes, it's a good porn simulator. I'll also give them credit for their consistent update notes. But after 8 years does it feel like an RPG? No. If it was being marketed as purely a sex simulator, great, job well done. No sarcasm. But it's not, it's being marketed as an RPG. Given how little time (based on said dev notes) has been spent on actual RPG gameplay in the past 8 years, I don't see how it's somehow going to turn into one in the next 12-15 months. At least not one of any even half reasonable quality.

AdeptusSteve I don't know how hard this would be to implement but I think it would be great if we could edit the facial expressions on existing animations.

Doing so with the posing tool adds an entirely new dimension to each pose, being able to do the same with your animations would be awesome, obviously this wouldnt work effectively for all animations but I think it would be a massive addition to the game.

Would be nice to be able to control the frequency of moaning, too. Sometimes characters are totally silent when they should be moaning their head off.

All valid points, looking from this perspective does change things. Sure.

You know why it's like a gallery like 90% of the games on this site?
Percentage talk, here we go. I'm sure you did the math.

Do people want a game with a focus on adult content or do they want a game with a story? Sure - a game can include both, but it takes time - especially with smaller indie developer teams.

While this doesn't apply inherently to Addeptus, it should definitely be an eye opening message to some of the people here who cry constantly that a game doesn't include whatever they're feeling like that day...
You quote me, then generalize about community here. Every person commenting, does that on their own behalf, sharing their opinion. I'm not talking for whole community, because there is no such thing as "whole community" as some kind of single hive mind. You're oversimplyfying already simple matter: as many people, as many opinions.

When a game does its job - I praise it. When it doesn't - I'll critique it. Why this bothers people so much - no idea.

Yay update.

Time to revisit the same complaints again :)

I am happy with more animations. If anyone has issues with the direction, might I suggest you do one of two things?

Donate and attempt to influence the direction that way.

Stop donating and attempt to influence the direction that way.

Anything else is... I mean I'll acknowledge and agree that it does kinda suck that they over-promised with the genre and gameplay. That was bad. You're right to be miffed. But... It's been that way for ages now.

If that part ever gets fleshed out and finished properly, it'll probably be a lonnnng time still.

It's pretty clear for all to see what this game is currently. It's the animations and character creator. Plus the map editor. If you aren't cool with that, I think you kinda gotta just let it go. Check back in a year or so to see what's up, and otherwise, uninvest.

Like, you can't say nothing is happening. Each update has a ton of things done. So if you don't like what IS being done, STILL, at this point? Don't upset yourself. It's free, it's better quality than a lot of things out there, and it's consistently getting more content. Just drop it, man.
Yet another post that essentially boils down to "if you don't like it, don't say anything". Granted, this one is phrased a bit more politely, I'll give you that. But here's the problem: giving money for the mere chance of influencing development is absurd for so many reasons that it's hardly worth breaking down here. On the other hand, voicing criticism in a public forum, especially one with a dedicated thread for this game, is far more effective. Not only does it ensure that your concerns are heard, it also keeps others informed about the reality of the situation.

And let's be clear: I've been "checking back in a year", as suggested, for several years now. The result? The game hasn't just failed to progress, it has regressed. For a project that's supposedly been "in development" for nearly a decade, with continuous financial backing, that is inexcusable. People absolutely deserve to know what they're getting into before deciding whether to support this.

The developer has been collecting funds through Patreon since at least April 2016, under the promise of building an open-world adult rpg. Almost a decade of funding later, what do we have in terms of actual gameplay? Nothing. People need to understand this. Staying silent in the face of what is essentially a scam(where is the promised game?) is no better than endorsing it. If you want to remain quiet, that's your choice. But I won't. Not when countless supporters are still holding out hope for a project that has failed to deliver for nearly ten years.

This "game" has always seemed too good to be true since I saw it for the first time on youtube in like 2016ish. It's a fantastic animation gallery with extra steps. There's no meaningful gameplay loop, unfortunately.

"...you want our character artists/animators to just idle and do nothing while the level artists and game designers work..."

What if you had them start working on paired grappling animations for battlefuck elements, or basically, any transition from some sort of idle state to struggling, teasing, hugging, dancing, etc. For a project of this magnitude, any degree of interactivity with the world or integration into the gameplay would provide endless fun.

Increase the player's control or lack thereof. I want to feel like the character I'm playing as. I don't want to feel like I'm a person at a computer picking some sex menu item inside a digital sandbox. Immersion is always king above all else.

A disclaimer, I don't know what's changed since I haven't given the game a shot in a couple years now, though, assuming from the recent posts in here... not much has changed. Maybe the teams already working towards stuff like this! In that case, great job, I'm excited.

Hey, I have a quick question. The last time I played this game was way back in 2019, I was wondering how for is the storyline goes and how much more optimized has it become? Cheer to anyone answering my question!
