These people saying Blender is the reason for bad animations, clearly have 0 understanding of how 3D animation works...
Keyframe animation is independent of any one software, if it looks good in SFM it'll look good in Blender and Maya.
Sure it looks good... If the animation is done in Maya ;)
Then you can import it where ever you like and all is fine.
But of course you meant it that way, if not... well so much about your 3d wisdom.

I can't tell if you're trolling at this point? Keyframe animation has nothing to do with the software. That's like saying a runner is only as good as the shorts they wear, the software will provide flash on top when it comes to the final render (I'm talking materials, lighting) but IK and FK rigs are used across the board in exactly the same fashion. I cannot put it clearly enough, if you place a character's foot at coordinate 0 in Maya and move it to coordinate 1, then edit the curve in the graph, you'll get exactly the same result as if you do that in Blender. The animation will look just as smooth or as stiff in either program.

Now can we please get back to the unmoderated bashing on Wildeer for legitimate reasons, not this nonsense you're spewing from a complete lack of understanding.

I find him pretty amusing :)
Contributing to this discussion with his attitude was sure clumsy and childish, on top the ability to stubbornly missing the point, like you said...
But he managed to unintentionally deliver the answer to the issue with blender content creators:
------------------Blender only have those basic animating tools----------------

Maya and most other 3d packages on the other hand do have more then that to create professional animations.
But if one is a "blender fanatic" there is of course no way one can widen his horizon... ;)

Blender and Maya user for 3D animation here, and I guess I'll have to clarify. While it's true that Maya still have a bit of advance for this job, what you are saying isn't true. As Asstute said, the tool isn't the reason why an animation would look bad, It rely almost only on the creator skills. Sure photoshop have better tools than let's say Krita, but a good artist will deliver a good result in both cases.
For 3D animation, both Maya and Blender have pros and cons, and even if Maya have more "experience", Blender can do 90% of what Maya can do. Maya have animation layers out of the box (while blender need a plugin), better handling at high poly-counts in the viewport playback, while Blender have some shortcuts in the graph editor Maya don't have, and more stability overall (just a few examples that come to my mind). Just look at the latest open movie project "Sprite fright" and tell me it's a bad animation.

TDLR: It's not about the tool, it's about the skills.

First of all, need to repeat myself...
Its about 3d amateur porn... Of course pros can master any software. On top they work with many programs including scripter modifying them as they need.
So this argument has no weight...

You are ill-presenting the benefits of maya in a very generous way. Possibly to better represent blender...
Are you really familiar with Maya? I do have doubts...
And then your subjective opinion goes on like "what you are saying isn't true. As Asstute said..." Wellll...

"While it's true that Maya still have a bit of advance for this job"
That line did it for me to be honest... really ill-presented.

Sorry, but you couldnt clarify much

Btw. if you think animations are only done with those basic tools, then you shouldnt consider yourself an animator. Ever heard of "secondary animation"? Try that the classic way and you will regret ever being involved in 3D...
Real animations incl. simulation engines, tools that can deliver realistic animations, fluid, smooth and crisp looking stuff like this:

Blenders simulation engines, if you can even call them that, dont even have proper collision detection, friction, bend, stretch etc...
All the physical stuff you need to create something good looking... Real animations;)

So, no wonder that we cant have better things, if people consuming 3D porn are stuck with blender and its ancient way of animation...

IMHO You also provided answer why 3DX animation stagnates.
AFAIKT most of 3DX artists are amateurs that want to learn 3D while doing something "interesting" and p0rn seams to be that while offering:

- learning opportunities (organic modelling, animation, simulations etc.)
- with minimal skill-set opportunity to earn money
- opportunity to build portfolio with NON NSFW content (basically clothed version of animations ???)

At some point, when artists skill-set expands, question about feature arise, i.e. "how much will I earn while doing 3D (non p0rn) as my main job". Looking at sites like: it seams like annual earnings are around 6k / month. Now how many of 3DX artists earn that? Another question: can I expand salary to 10-20k / month when I start familly?

Did anyone noticed that majority of 3DX artists are from eastern Europe. That's, IMHO, not accident, but it's due to ratio of $/EURO vs local currency and doing this as side gig is nice monthly bonus or in some cases, when You earn > 2k $ over average salary in those countries. So nice way to start as 3D artist to build up portfolio.

Portfolio argument - You can't really go to Your new employer and show futa animations...

IMHO it's not about software, but about still-set and time / income / portfolio and at some point You do realise that doing this as 3D game / ads / vfx etc. artist allow You to earn much more then doing p0rn.

Just my 2 cents.

So according to your opinion them being lazy and milking patreons just like wildeerp, too?
I dont know...
Well im pretty sure, people who do 3d porn would love to make more proper and realistic stuff (doesnt need to be long, even 10sec) then those mechanic loops. Not because of patreons, but for themself...
Who wouldnt love to make their own fantasy true? Isnt that the reason why starting this in the first place?

Had a conversation with a nice gentleman the other day and realized, that alot people within 3d porn(viewers and creators) dont have experience with 3d packages other then blender...
Well of course you wont be able to do proper animations then.
Relying on blender and awaiting improved animations, sorry not a chance...
There is no doubt this is the truth, most of the times artists or creators start idealistic trying to make big things but the reality of having to pay the bills and stuff makes them tend to do what can get the money flowing, otherwise they'll starve to death and there will be no content even loops to see.
There are some really bad loops and pictures out there, but I'm really grateful for all the good stuff that's being done with this awesome Wildeer Lara Croft model, it's just too good, he's being improving it with small details that make it better and even shares the assets for everyone to use, kind of feel tempted to install blender and see what is all this 3d stuff all about.

Yes, you actually quoted my answer, which was most 3d porn creations are done with blender and its incapabiltity for better animations.
But then...
IMHO it's not about software...
I really dont understand why people still say that when i even give examples like Mayas ragdoll simulation engine...
Here is another example, an artist using a 3d package other than blender and see what he could achieve:

Newer stuff on last pages...

Hold your jaws tight:
Its done with 3ds Max :eek::eek:

The rest, i agree with your reasearches.

Alright, since Wildeer Studio has public releases, I compiled those in a .torrent (except WIP from Patreon/Subscribstar)
