My eyesight isn't that great. Does anyone here know if there's a noticeable difference in quality between the 4K/60 and 1080/60 versions of Gatekeeper 4? I'd like to save storage space if I can, unless the quality of the 4K/60 is better.

Download both and see for yourself. Some people can tell the difference, some can't, or barely, or don't care. Personally, I find it very easy to notice, and another thing that's a huge plus for me is that's it's 60fps. Another spec some people don't really care for, but others do
The 60fps are a huge difference, that for sure.
30fps is "cinema-style", while 60fps is like RL (IIRC 60hz is the frequency when your eyes and/or brain realize something as a "liquid movement").
But to 4k i have to say: it's not worth it as long as you don't have very good eyes and an above-the-normal-big-screen.
I have an 60" screen and i have no need for 4k - even if my TV is capable of it.
The difference is minimal and the file-size is mostly absurd.
Maybe it's rewarding for your 5 or 10 most beloved clips/movies, but that's it.

It's about the efficient use of something, it's about the necessity, it's about the environment, and yes: sometimes it's about the money too.
Why should one waste ressources in form of money, technical equipment, time and so on for things that one doesn't really need?
I could store everything in 4k-quality, sure, but then my harddrives wouldn't last since 4-8 years.
Hundreds and thousands of dollars more would be gone, just to keep every movie or clip in my storage at absolute top-quality - and to watch it 1x in the mentioned 8 years.
For a maybe 4% better experience i had to pay 400% of my actual storage-budget.
And then energy. Natural ressources. An additional PC because the current one couldn't hold so much drives...
Wasting so much ressources of any thinkable kind for a fucking 4% better experience?

compressing takes resources too and 720 is pretty shit especially after a lossy>lossy compression. imo 1080 is good enough for most, 4k for the best stuff and vigilant deletion of subpar stuff with like 10+TB is reasonably optimal. even 50TB can be filled up so you can't really avoid deletingInaro Samenbank How about you take this discussion to DM's? I'll make the trailer for this alternative version tomorrow. And tomorrow night there will be a vote on the ATWT pose. This survey will last until January 6th. You'll have plenty of time to vote.
We also worked on the GK P4 BTS video story this week. It's 80% done. I'll start with that in January.
Of course, there will be a year review and 2025 plans post. As usual. Also, I'm moving to a new studio in the spring. I'll bring you information about that too.
