Huh, that's odd as even if the todo of enthralling wasn't there, if you did enthral the next quest about talking to your sister about mesmerism should have kicked in as it doesn't need the original to be there to get added.

Do you recall your sister talking you through the enthralment process? It ended with a link entitled 'Begin the Games'
Have you practiced your Mesmerism with your sister, after asker her about books on the subject in the library?
i didn't see the option to ask her about the subject in the library, and i have not practiced my Mesmerism yet.

Zephery Thanks for your review. You raise many good points.

The combat system:
This has been untouched since I threw it together. I've not done any work on balancing or ensuring it works well, it for now just works. But thanks for your analysis it will help when I get to it.

Scheduling:
Again all valid points, and something I need to look into, however as I'm still adding events and new interactions to the locations I'm certainly not 100% decided upon where and how often people are in certain places. I always get caught out by how much people love to grind the stats, they exist and they help but they get way more focus from folks than I design in a way. Something I certainly need to take into account.
I may look into adding options to ask the person about carrying out options whilst they are in other rooms, or perhaps allow you to say do yoga on your own, but it's less effective than when your sister is there once you've had the initial lesson. Like I said still adding things to the game all the time, I spent a while just firefighting so things fell behind in the content side.
As an example I have adjusted the sisters schedule for the conservatory to ensure there is always at least one time slot where she is there every day.

Coding:
Yup.. I mean I can code and I can do some fun stuff, but when i get an idea I focus very much on that, and sometimes (often) it can impact another area of the game I hadn't anticipated. At this early stage I am often re-writing whole sections of the tech behind the scenes so I can get to where I need to be to tell my story. It;s why I rushed to the US location as I knew I would need way more things there, and they would be the things that the rest of the game depended on so I wanted to get there to set everything up. Maybe it was a mistake opening that area up to folks, but I figured people would see a 0.2 release as very much an alpha things, perhaps that is wrong, or other people versioning systems have them believing other things. I'm very much a 'nothing will be complete until 1.0' kind of guy..

Anyways, as I said thanks for the valuable input. I do take everything on board even if it doesn't show up in the game immediately.

Major change to release schedule!

My plan with this game was to release my changes in what I've been calling Nightly Builds so that the latest updates could get out there sooner and people could play with them and let me know what they thought. It was a way to look into the design process and perhaps a chance to influence the game somewhat

However these releases were never meant to be finished products. I had assumed the version numbering would have indicated this, but that was clearly a gross misjudgement on my part so for that I am sorry to those that have come to my game expecting a finished product. The releases were certainly not anything I would consider 'review ready' code. However it seems that that is not the expectation, or maybe even the desire of the community here. (No offence to the reviews I've received, the content of which is all fine, I just didn't think I would be getting reviews so early in the process)

So, moving forward I will no longer be updating this thread with my daily-ish work. I'll still be here checking and replying to any feedback but I won't be adding anything new to the game build. I'm going to go away and finish my plans for the Family Home area, get all the locations fleshed out with their events and ensure all the characters have their chat options. This will also require me to continue working on the US area as anything I do there needs to fall back to the Family Home for consistency.

At a certain point I will decide that the Family Home area is in a 'beta' state and will re-release the game as a 0.1 version that will cut off at the trip to the US. Hopefully this will better meet with expectations, and will become the road plan moving forwards. For anyone interested however I will still be updating the MEGA folder with new versions as I go, but these will be marked as clear pre-release versions.

Again sorry to anyone who feels they got burnt playing my builds so far, was not my intention to annoy people with an in-progress game. Clearly I need to work on my presentation of what it is I am sending out.

Also, again, thanks to all for the feedback so far, it has all been taken on board even if the effects of that might not be visible in game yet. It was my main reason for releasing anything at all, the hardest part of working alone is that lack of other viewpoints.

For those not interested in going over to hypnocollective, heres the newest build avaliable there:

It is:
Version: 0.1 (Build:0061)

Change log is there aswell... But as the dev does a new change log almost every day, it is massive.

Not sure why everyone complains about the lack of money --- If you save up $600 for the most expensive book in the shop first, it lets you buy the other 2 cheaper books for free.
*not exactly, i have -$679 * (who cares about debt when you already have the books)

Thanks for letting me spend money I dont have! Capitalism !

So this reached build number 58 on Hypmno.

Will you release this here too?
I will, however the game was coming in for a lot of flack as I was releasing effectively test builds and people were expecting 'closed releases' here so I chose to stop updating here until I have a nice cut off point for a release, but anyone interested in following the more active releases can pick them up from the nightly folder as Pagdor mentioned. The in game change log will keep up up to date with any changes, I try to keep everything as transparent as possible.

Hmm, now do I fix that loophole or build a story line out of it.. being in debt the Le Roi family can be a dangerous path...

Just dont make it retroactive and I am good. :p
(I honestly intended it as a bug report)
Didnt you already mention that they stay neutral unless directly provoked though?
What's a little debt amongst friends after all...

so far I really like the potential of this one, it also helps that the pictures you use for the Uncle and the Grandfather makes me read in the voices of Liam Neeson and Christopher Lee

I understand the wanting to make the game aspect last longer but the grind is getting a tad too much for me. After finally figuring out the sister not showing up in the conservatory bit, i.e for me at least the 'relax in your room' is bugged for me. I have to click it twice for it to actually move time forward.

The clicking is also fraying the nerves. Once again I understand wanting to develop the game's surroundings but there's too many places I have to click through to get where I need to go. Maybe adding a pop-up out window to where you see a list and can just click to go there. Like the pit without having to go through 4 places to get to the pit.

Lastly this is a porn game and it's been almost an hour and no porn! Sure I can take the easy way and restart it then use the fast forward but what's the point? Maybe, I'll put this on the back burner and check it out later down the road when you've fleshed it out more.

For the navigation, I found that at most times, in the upper right corner, it says "Map". It's exactly as it sounds, and as you describe wanting. Took me way too long to realize, myself, so I thought I just share :)

Yeah that would be welcome if it was actually there. All I see in my top right is Menu l Saves.

Edit. Ok I see I never updated to the current version. Which is a big improvement map wise, but I still have that relax in your room bug I previously mentioned.

That second part, I can't help with. And oddly, the map thing isn't always available, either. Might have to do with time blocks, but can't be certain yet.

That's not a bug, the relax in room moves forward 100 time blocks, and there are 200 before early morning becomes late morning etc. Once you have the map (Unlocks on the thirdish day) you can use the time skip on there to move time forward faster. It currently hides when you go to the bar as it would have created issues, however I think that is no longer the case so I will remove that limitation at some point.

the last nightly build is dated September 6th. Do you have a new Mega-Folder for your builds?
I very like this game, can't wait for new Versions.
