If we're voting, we can throw my vote in for a hardbody focused harem at some point.

I love fit girls and squishy girls too, but I definitely enjoy a woman carved outta marble!

The main problem is really good muscle mommas are so rare in games like this so when a good one pops up it's painful to the soul when she's not one of the LI's.

All the other LI's are great dont get me wrong it's just harems are like burgers. You have your harem and sit down with a nice juicy burger but imagine how much nicer that burger would be with a steak on it too.

A bit of a timing issue:

The quartermaster arranged for Astrid's outfit a week or so before the relationship progressed to the point where the relationship suggests you get it for her. She's received it and sent a message about it, but the relationship prompt remains talk to Q.

On a separate issue, I've met Arya in the bar for a drink (after day 33+) about 4 times without a change in relationship or prompt. Engaging with her gives me a "Max Upgrade, Meet her in the bar" message repeatedly. There's a light chat and a gain of +1 Charisma as a result of said meeting.

My favorite is when my MC and Arya took apart a whole combat wing without taking a single hit, but both their birds were scrap metal when they got back to the carrier. The cutscenes being divorced from the mini-game leads to dissonance.

I did all those. Amber's relationship status goes to 'to be continued'. Arya's just cycles back to "meet in bar". Not a big deal once I know nothing's wrong -- more a cosmetic issue.

This is in wings_of_empire_linux_0_3_0b ... two sequences during the ambush have angle brackets around Rosebud. I don't remember that happening in version 2.

Anyway, just replayed the game from the start, and I don't think the special forces branches you're a former member of have been discussed here before?

• Force Recon screams "classic" special forces, elite light infantry operating behind enemy lines.
• Orbital Recon OTOH seems to heavy special forces power armor of the Starship Trooper inspiration, with jump jets, integrated weapons and orbital drops.

(And either way, you're recruited for sekrit squirrel shit later on)

Originally figured that FR would probably fit better, since if the MC gets involved in any ground/shipboard combat, it would certainly be on-foot - still tend that way mostly, although the existence of a heavily damaged PA on the Aquila has been teased I think twice? so far.

(Oh, and possible minor bug: You can read Cass's contract notes late at night, without advancing time. My read of the system was that anything giving you stat increases will take time, so I think that's unintentional)

Yeah, it's mostly flavor-text so far. The biggest one is the day 20 date with Valeria where he narrates the same battle from two different angles, depending on which branch you chose. All in all it's used ~50 times, so it's a common flag.

I did consider something that leans into one or the other branches down the road some time, but so far nothing concrete.

Nothing; it's just a timeslot so you can return home and sleep.

There's a lot of activities that don't necessarily end with you going to bed, so this is just a liminal slot to "go home and sleep".

The origin of the late night slot comes from Love of Magic, where you could spend time bartending at night. Me sending the player straight to bed without letting them shower first evidently gave some ex-bartenders PTSD.

The fix worked
I was playing with my save from 0.2, somewhere around day 56 or so. When i loaded, it prompted me to go back to day 40 to the beginning of act 3 (i think) and i continued from there as normal. Not sure what i did on day 42 tho, sorry.

You can be sure by going into cheats, jumping to day 42 and skipping morning and evening slots. It should give you the Jade introduction if you missed it. It's a nice event so worth going back to see. Jump back to wherever you are afterwards.

Yeah, if it doesn't consume a timeslot you can do it (but you could do it any other time without consuming a timeslot as well)

ok droid, i know i've mentioned this in a PM, but since i replayed the game AGAIN (shit, this would be playthru......uh, i forget.....25? 30?) but the discussion of "subjective" and "objective" time still SCARES the fuck outta me!!! i dunno if you've ever experienced "losing" large amounts of time, but it SUCKS! like i understand the whole time difference you're going for, but it sorta defeats the purpose of FTL travel if you leave today, "feel" like you travel a day, but you arrive at your destination "technically" a week later! it makes no sense really......it "objectively" sucks!

it would make more sense if you switched the terms and you synced to times, ie- you "subjectively" are on the ship for a day, and "observationally" arrive at your destination a day later, but your destination is where you would have arrived in a week if you HADN'T used FTL.....

Sounds like it's touching some personal trauma; unfortunately.

It's a common enough concept in FTL travel, and it's brought up a couple of times (Day 2 with Astrid, then again with Cass on day 31). You can also see the effects on the ingame calendar as it jumps where they exit back into space after a jump.

Traveling a couple lightyears in a week, and subjectively experiencing only a day or two, sound pretty good FTL to me. Just keep a personal ledger for stuff where the subjective time passed is important.
Much better than traveling a couple of lightyears in a bit more than a couple of years, and the time dilation resulting from that.
(Now imagine the senate&emperor having to travel, and insisting "objective" time adjust to their subjective time, because obviously the world revolves around them. Every jump by the senate ship causing calendars to be adjusted on every world. )
