Might make more sense for him to redo/upskill on a completed game like Karma using their favoured game engine godot/unity and then get back to this or restart it from scratch. I reckon the source code must not be in the best possible place hence the abadonment.

I didn't like Karma game's scenario much so I vague remeber it. Having said that, I don't think it was used in Karma. Might be worth checking it out for yourself.
As far as I'm concerned, it hasn't been abandoned because on discord he posted an announcement of a new update on September 16, 2025

But Karma has a completed tag, so what more is he doing with that game and he should have more time for this game

He doesn't have an actual plan in motion. He's just doing whatever he feels like at that time and taking it from there.Work on this game, remake the other, take a break. When people are this inconsistent, they don't know what they really want.

- 3 new Chapters,
- 800+ new Renders,
- About 25k new words,
- You now only get 5 chances to get more information about Mark.,
- The Jessica flashbacks are implemented.,
- Jessica got a bit more feisty, you can mess your date up.,
- You can chose to call Alex instead of Jessica.,
- A bit more lewdness with Toms starting scene.,
- Grammar corrections, some music adjustment.,

I don't see how Karma has anything to do with this game?
For some reason devs invest time/effort for Xmas special so who knows. At this point i'd consider a restart of the project an attempt to make their new engine stable with a compatilbe save system otherwise its pointless.

this dev is weird af why tf is he still working on game that no one cares about !?? everyone loves winter warmth and they waited for new updates for long time and now this !!
Right? Who cares about Karma - I mean it was an okay game... but felt more like a short 'get off the ground project', not a big world like WW.
Does anyone subscribe to his patreon? There's a new post there, maybe there's something about WW in it?
