New Witch Hunter Ex format, unreleased content and results of version 0.24
Hello everyone This time we have a lot of topics and we would like to hear your opinion on many of them, so we have divided the post into segments for your convenience.
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT VERSIONS 0.24 AND 0.25
Well, it seems that most of you have already played version 0.24. We hope that you enjoyed the update! Judging by the reviews, many even liked the mini-game segment. Fortunately, this time there were no bugs or errors that interfere with the passage of the game. But if you do find something, you can always write to us in Discord or create a report through the panel in the game itself.
Meanwhile, work on version 0.25 is already underway! Several scenes have already reached the stage of linart. In addition, this time we decided not to load the update with various gameplay mechanics, so there is a good chance that this update will be released faster than the previous ones. This time, the main difficulty will be with the new sprites, but we'll talk about that next time.
"CUT OUT" CONTENT
To be honest, we wanted to add more content to version 0.24, but at some point we realized that we were already running out of time. More specifically, we wanted to add the possibility of performing on stage for each of the characters. This idea was born a long time ago and initially we wanted to create a pack of pictures in which all the key characters would stand in the same waist position. This way we could convey the "original and canonical" breast size for each of the featured characters. Hence the idea of the "breast contest" and the stage at the fair. with these pictures. But, the deadlines were approaching, and in the end we decided to focus on only three characters performing on stage: Miranda, Tarani, and Lilith (small, medium, and large in the classical sense). But from this, let's say, "cut out" content, we had an idea.
I think many people remember how we promised that after the release of version 0.24, we will offer you a new interactive voting format. Well, the time has come! As you know, we like to create formats where you have the opportunity to influence some of the game's content. This is how the format of the pages in the magazine appeared in the store, which are still being replenished, and in a similar way, the idea was born with the addition of characters from different universes at your request. However, both of these formats have one problem in common - for the most part they do not affect the game itself in any way and do not affect the content, this is a classic "fan service". There's nothing wrong with the fanservice itself, but we'd like to try something new.
NEW FORMAT: WITCH HUNTER EX
Therefore, we came up with the following idea: To create expanded versions of the scenes you like. This will work by analogy with voting for which of the following scenes you would like to see animated, only this time you will be able to vote for which plot additional scenes will appear! We decided that it would be best to organize it like this: You write in the comments below the post the ideas of the scenes, the continuation of which you would like to see. A week later, we make a vote out of the most popular options (possibly supplementing the vote with our own options). A week later, we summarize the voting results and begin creating additional content. As soon as this content is ready, we add it to the latest version (in this case version 0.24) and release it with the prefix Ex (Extra version with extended content. The name is under development)
In short, on the fingers:
- Are you voting for the expansion of the stage
- Based on the results of the voting, we are expanding the segment that received the most votes.
- Creating new content (3-4 scenes maximum)
- Releasing an "extended" version (Witch Hunter Ex) according to the classic distribution scheme
WHY ARE WE OFFERING A NEW FORMAT?
Why did we decide to offer you this format? Well, there are several reasons for this. To begin with, the case described above, in which we have to abandon the creation of additional content, was far from the only one. We often have to remove some scenes from the list in order to meet deadlines. Roughly speaking, we have ideas for expanding the scenes, but we no longer have the opportunity or time to do so, because we cannot supplement the old content with the release of the new version. The second reason is that we would like you, as our patrons, to also have the opportunity to choose which content you would like to see in an expanded format. Not just a fan service, but something that directly affects the plot. Well, there is one more weighty argument to try this format.: this is new content within the "canonical" plot of the game. And you can get it between the release of major updates. That is, it will be a kind of warm-up before the release of a new full-fledged version.
ANSWERS TO POSSIBLE QUESTIONS
- Will this slow down the release of update 0.25?
Let's say right away that this format will NOT affect the release speed of the main content and will not slow down the development process. The process of creating each update is quite fragmented and always part of the team is just waiting for one or another team member to finish his part of the work so that the next person has something to work with. Roughly speaking, the programmer has nothing to do until the scenes are ready, he just waits. And the artist has nothing to do until the script is ready and all the scenes are approved. And in this waiting period, we can easily include the creation of 3-4 new scenes and a small story arc. It helps us a lot that we are supplementing the content for the already created version of the game.
- What format will "Witch Hunter EX" be released in?
It will be released in the classic format, like all previous updates. 10$ in the first week after the release, 5 $ in the second week after the release and a free exit at the time of the release of the next version. In other words, the Conditional version of "Witch Hunter 0.24 EX" will become completely free soon after the release of version 0.25.
- Will it be a regular format now?
