Sigh. I still feel like removing all that content completely, not even transferring it to just the mirror viewer stuff, was an enormous mistake. It's however many years later and I'm still not sure they've managed to add back in more than they cut out. Cho's had some developments, NuLuna has had a couple things, and otherwise..?

Astoria and Susan still basically pointless characters as far as I can tell.

Is there a joke with his name? Like, sure, jokes can be made with his name in context of this game, but Fawkes is his actual name, and I don't see any joke with it in context of the actual series.

Feeding Fawkes does do something. It makes me feel better. He's a good bird.

Guy Fawkes was an anarchist who tried to blow up parliament. November 5th is "Guy Fawkes Night" where people in the UK light bonfires or fireworks. Fawkes in the game/book/movie is a Phoenix... that literally bursts into fire.

So, there is a joke here, but it was made by J.K. Rowling.
