Do yourself a favor and visit an art museum, take a look at the people in the distance on the big paintings with lots going on. They're all vaguely humanoid shape with blurry/non-descript features. Blurry and messy doesn't not mean "AI" it means "not that focus, but a detail the artist felt relevant to include".

AI can do a decent job of getting background features clearly defined when you take the time to tell it to, sure. Not contesting that. But in game you have a lot of things going on that AI doesn't do well:
- image is not front and center, but rotated in perspective like you're looking at it from the side
- different styles between the portrait itself and the framing and background the frame is on
- vague details that while not the focus, are present and identifiably human head shots even though they're little more than blobs

Sure, you could get an AI to do this. But it's unlikely it would do it particularly well nor does there really seem to be any reason to suspect the artist that is very much present and working on other parts of the game is not also working on these beyond "wow, that's a lot of art. sounds like a pain in the ass so it must be AI" like this wasn't the level of detail and effort artists have put into their work for centuries before AI was a thing.

(Edit: Also, to be fair, you are right in identifying it's a lot of exhausting detail. I wouldn't even fault an artist for using AI to speed things along on miscellaneous details like these that are needed but not terribly important game assets. That's why we have tools. But that is A. not a reason to tag as AI CG as originally suggested and B. jumping to conclusions about how the artist is doing their work without any real evidence beyond "well AI can look similar" like AI looking similar isn't the entire reason for AI arts continued existence.)
i really dont understand why youre being so defensive. i and others have named some reasons why we are suspicious. regardless of your/my personal opinion, it is the general policy of the f95zone website to properly tag things that contain AI generated content.

and as i said in my previous reply, we cant prove shit. your arguments are as good as mine. i was more trying to get a response from the creator, and if applicable, get the game properly tagged. thats it!!

1. Thank you so much for the comments and the kind words!! I'll try to answer some of the questions as best as I can ^^

2. The statue naming bug is fixed, I'll reupload and update the links soon!

is this all custom art/rigs or part of an asset pack?
3. Yup, all custom and made by me! Sometimes if I find a good low poly model I use that as a base, edit and fully retexture to fit into the environment though.. The characters are all custom by me

Did someone say NTR? Will this game have NTR? I will nuke myself if so
4. I had to look up what that means but no, I don't plan adding any NTR to the game

5. Huhh guys, you really went wild with the AI topic..
Just to clarify I'm doing everything I can to create magical and detailed 3D environments (by hand!!). I love adding tiny easter eggs, objects and posters that tell their own small stories or even refers to some of the girls in the game or hints future plans and updates..

and yess, technically I could paint every single poster and portrait completely from scratch (I already edit or paint over basically everything anyway ^^ ), but that'd add a huge amount of extra time to the dev process and honestly.. for small background details, that just wouldn't be worth slowing down the whole process for (right..?) ^^

By the way the maps are kinda frankensteined together from multiple versions and I handpainted over a few times, so I guess that's why it caused such a debate. They are just placeholders atm anyway, I'll be commissioning a 2D artist this or next month to create three beautiful, magical maps

The AI tag just wasn't really clear to me I guess..? I mean after spending like 800+ hours modeling and texturing everything in 3D, it just feels a bit off to label it the same way as fully AI-generated games when mine is like.. 98% handmade >.<

but all good though I totally get why some of you brought it up! Rules are rules I'll add the tag :c

6. About the writing: I'm mainly an artist and will probably work with a british writer in the future to improve on the writing quality!

7. I wanna thank everyone who complimented the art, it warms my heart!<3 It took quite some time and experiments to find a workflow that's kinda fast but also looks cute :3

I wouldn't get too "upset" about the AI debate, I'm not an AI lover (mostly for RL reasons), but your project clearly shows you weren't "just good at AI prompts" and have more than enough creative chops.

Good luck with the project mate!

When looking through the preview images in the OP the art style reminded me of the games by Lionhead Studios! I do like the look of this and the story overview sounds quite interesting so I'm going to add it to my Watch list and, hopefully, I'll remember to download and give it a try over the weekend. That "Developer Notes" spoiler in the OP is also very damned impressive! (y)

Potion Pixie Best of luck with the project, rather surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet but you can get a Developers badge by opening a ticket:

Reading the dev's reply, I'm ok with being "close enough". It did seem to me too accurate/consistent to be AI, apparently it's just very heavily instructed & corrected AI.

And therein lies the problems that AI image generation solves: time, resources, burnout. Personally, I am not for or against AI being involved in games, as long as the end result is good and not insulting to players. Assuming the dev is bullied to forgo AI and do everything by hand continuing on, is this feeling of moral superiority worth it against the ?x more time between updates and the increased potential of project burnout and abandonment? Compared to what egregious examples I'm sure we've all seen, this one's AI images barely raise an eyebrow or feel out of place.
Dev is King and their decision is absolute and final but, for me, if quality stays the same, and it saves time and money, just keep doing what you're doing.

I am fine with using AI for low-priority assets. It's obvious that the girls and the rooms are all lovingly handmade, I don't really care if some posters or the world map or the UI were made with AI.

We need more games that have their own unique art style, so I hope WGW becomes popular.

Where are the first pair of panties (presumably Lily's)?
Found them! Lily's panties are given to you by repeatedly clicking the book titled "Dont Touch This Book" in the library's main room, on the very left of the screen on the stool.

How many panties are there now, two or three?

So far, I've found the ones in the library and the ones in the greenhouse.

Is there another one?

Heyy guys I saw some comments about me not being the dev so just wanted to clear some things! You can't post photos (especially teasers/more suggestive) on Patreon of someone else and claim its you, I had to verify myself there as well! I know female devs are kinda rare in these spaces but I grew up on animes videogames and nerdy stuff and I do like cosplaying so yeaaah we do exist! Anyway I'm hoping you enjoy the game I'm creating, thank you for being here ^^
