We've actually gotten more team members in the last year and have one focusing on extras. The DLC characters were always part of the plan, and we're still getting work done on the main story. Thanks to having more people on the team, we can branch out a bit more and continue with similar progress. I, personally focus on the marketing and oddjobs. I had a few windows issues that prevented me from working on shots and that sort of work, so I focused my efforts elsewhere. The save issue you mentioned has since been fixed and we will do our best to ensure it does not happen again. We're beginners. It's our first project with Ren'py, so we are learning a lot as we go. Thankfully, we have found many fixes and good people to talk to when we run into problems. I'd like to thank them, including some people from this community for the support and assitance over the years.

These are all assumptions. Allow me to clarify. I seem to remember having had this discussion with you before. Pretty sure you know why the restarts were necessary, because I've explained this to you before. But I think this is an opportunity to pull back the curtain for everyone else who might be wondering similar things.

First point, about the restarts. WCA hit 1.0 on June 23rd, 2024. That was when backend systems were finalized, Season 1 and Season 2 were combined into the same game, and the game was fully released in its current state. There hasn't been any need to restart in over A YEAR.

Before 1.0, you were playing a product that was in beta. The backend systems in any version before 1.0 in any piece of software will be unfinished, and by playing a beta, you should understand that things require fixes, and fixes may result in restarts. It was a beta. A TEST. We could have kept the beta builds to ourselves and not let anyone play it until 1.0. But we didn't. We let you play it. For free. If you don't like that, I highly recommend you avoid any software with a version number that is less than 1.0.

There IS a goof in the call stack, but because the game runs fine and this doesn't cause any errors for players, I've opted not to fix it because it would force another restart, and I promised the community we wouldn't do that again after 1.0. Y'know. A year ago.

Second point, about DLCs "draining time from the main game." I have published our roadmap several times. I'll do so again here.
Roadmap.png
As you can see, we have a concrete plan for alternating Side Story patches where we add scenes to the Side Stories of the girls pictured, and Main Story patches where we drop an entire episode at once. The 1.8.0.0 patch will be the end of the main story, and from that point on, we'll be focusing on filling out all the Side Stories.

Any DLC work happens when we can't work on the main game, either due to one of us waiting on the others to finish something, or just plain burnout. So your assertion that the DLC content is "draining time from the main game" is patently incorrect.

Sometimes it's better to ask questions when you don't understand something, rather than to make a bunch of assumptions and go spreading misinformation. Another thing I should share with you:
image_2025-07-22_003803937.png
This is from our internal kanban board where we track what tasks need to be done and what is completed. As you can see, Senia only has 89 tasks, while Episode 5 has a full 288. Percentage-wise, sure, it looks like we've been doing more work on Senia than on the main story. But in reality, we've done nearly double the work on this next main story episode as as we have on Senia's story.

To break this down, Senia has 22 total scenes and Season 2 Episode 5 has 70. More than 3 times the size of Senia's side story. Episode 5 is massive, and there are some special things we're having to do to resolve a lot of the things people have been waiting for, such as Nook's situation, River's, and Cecilia's. There are individual scenes in this next build that took me 6 hours to do. 6 hours. For one scene. And Episode 5 has 70 of them.

For comparison, S2E4 had 15 scenes. S2E3 had 18. S2E2 had 18. And again, S2E5 has 70. Episode 5 is so big that I'm honestly considering releasing it in 2 parts. And even with that size, we've managed to complete nearly half of it in 2 months, which is FAR faster than I'd have been able to do when I was solo. We are TEARING through this episode.

Lastly, I don't really get why you're complaining about DLC characters at all. If we were about to release our 11th DLC character and the main game hadn't had an update for over a year, I'd understand the complaint. I've seen devs do that, and yeah, I agree, that'd be kinda shitty. But the last update to WCA's main game was in May 25th, 2025. It hasn't even been a full 2 months since then, and Senia is our first DLC character in 4 years. We'll probably only release Senia and 1 other DLC character (MAYBE 2) by the time we get the Main Story finished.

So DLC has zero negative impact on the main game. In fact, releasing a DLC character or two could HELP the main game deliver updates faster, because we'll have more things that people can buy or sign up on the support sites for, and more money means less time at work to pay the bills and more time working on WCA, which will mean faster and more substantial updates to WCA for everyone to enjoy.

If you wanna help with that, the SubscribeStar and Patreon links are in our signatures. If you really want the main game updates to come faster, feel free to pitch in. Door's open if you wanna make a difference.

uh, just so the last thing on the thread isn't a complaint and rebuttal...

I wanted to say, great game! I like the story and and getting/have gotten attached to the characters. Which isn't so common for me, and without that attachment a game is more or less worthless. IMO.

Anyway, thanks for the fun and the hard work.

Which isn't to say I wouldn't love the whole thing to be done yesterday.... but I watch/binge entire seasons of tv shows because I hate waiting week to week. Who wants to wait right? But that's a ME problem, not a DEV problem.

We appreciate the kind words, and I feel that. If I could just put money into a machine and get a game out of it, I would lol. Sadly it doesn't work that way and I gotta do actual work. But we're at the halfway mark for this episode, and it's so massive that we're considering a split release for this episode. Gotta figure out this whole Itch deindexing thing first, but hey, we still have F95 for discoverability, so that's nice.

[PROGRESS REPORT] An Executive Decision

Hey, all! You're gonna notice the progress graphic looks a little different.

1-5-0-0 Update 6.png

What is this "First Half" sorcery? Well, as I said in the last post, this episode is absolutely massive. Probably triple the size of any of the other S2 episodes, and that's without manually counting. We've gotten a ton done, and a lot of people have been expressing regret that they have to wait so long for a release. So we made an executive decision.

We're going to be releasing a little over the first half of Season 2 Episode 5 first, and then the second half later, in a split release. We're 4 scenes away from finishing this First Half build, which is very close. I'm working something special out right now with someone who knows a bit of Timeline animation for a very special scene that you all have been waiting years for. Beyond that, 2 scenes need shooting and bugtesting, and only 1 scene needs writing, shooting, scoring, and bugtesting. Then we do our final test, and if that's solid, we ship it.

While the first half is making its way through the release cycle, we'll be hard at work on the second half. We have quite a bit done for these scenes, so we're hoping that we can push it into the release cycle within a month of the first half going public.

Also, I've done something a little different with this episode. Previously, we've been alternating Side Story and Main Story releases, making them mutually exclusive. This time, I decided to ship each build with at least 1 new Side Story scene per Free Time opportunity. The first half of S2E5 has 6 Free Time opportunities, so it'll ship with 6 new Side Story scenes. That way you have something new to play in each Free Time event, even if you've played all of the previous Side Story scenes.

Lastly, and slightly off-topic, I'm not gonna pretend I'm the first dev you're hearing about the whole Itch deindexing thing due to the payment processors thing. You know what's going on. Best thing you can do for all the creators you love, not just us, is be sure to follow them directly on Itch or sign up for free on their Patreon or SubscribeStar accounts so you don't miss updates.

A kind user on Patreon sent me this collection, where they're adding all the AVNs they could find links to. This might serve as a good collection to browse until this all gets figured out:

You might be able to use this to find more of your favorite creators and follow them directly. Anyways, thanks for reading! We hope you're excited to play Season 2 Episode 5 soon!

That's nice, a bit of good news to start my week.
Thanks for this, giving us the first half of the planned update is great.
Hope you're actually ok with this, and not just trying to appease the masses.
I'm personally a fan of more frequent releases. The only reason I've been doing a full episode at a time is because a lot of the supporters have preferred larger updates, which spaces them out more. I'm honestly really excited to put this out, because I feel like Episode 4 ended on a weird note and I'm eager to move the story past that.

I was also sad that Episode 4 ended...

And I always wonder if it's actually that people like larger updates or it just seems that way because they get to play much more at a time? Then they're happy and rave about the amount of new content, only to come crashing back to earth and realize it's gonna be another 6 months or whatever till they get to play again.

oh bty, I was just re-playing another game (another of my favorites) and there was a scene where the MC and an LI were streaming a show one night, a show called World Crossing Academy. I'd forgotten about that until about an hour ago. Made me smile.

That must have been Crimson High! Vertigo and I did a collab. If you play Mouse's side story, you'll get to watch a scene for CH. Vertigo also is responsible for WCA's phone and texting system. We wouldn't have those without him.

Now that you mention it, I did think that texting familiar looking/feeling. I started playing CH early last year, and only found and played yours after the new year this year. So I'd forgotten the WCA mention until last night. Always like those easter egg type things.
Figures two of my favorite AVNs have devs that are friendly.

[PROGRESS REPORT] Pleasant Surprises Abound

I wasn't expecting to have another update so soon, but it seems the things we were fixing ended up being fairly simple. Here's where we're at:

image_2025-08-02_035021899.png

Lot to tackle in this one, so I'll try to keep it short.

First, we're in final testing phase for 1.4.8.0 which will be about 60% of Season 2 Episode 5. Soon as that's done, I'll submit it to Estrada for the Android port, then start the release cycle. 1.4.8.0 is built using Ren'py 8 (Python 3), whereas 1.4.0.0 was built with Ren'py 7 (Python 2). Senia and all DLC characters will be built with Ren'py 8, so you'll need 1.4.8.0 or higher to play them.

Speaking of Senia, you'll notice she's done. We'll be adding her to the release cycle alongside 1.4.8.0 so that people don't buy her and then have to wait for 1.4.8.0 to become available to play her. We're also planning a couple of giveaways soon, and she'll be one of them, so keep your eyes on the Discord!

Now, the details. What were we fixing? Well, there were a few reshoots where Nags and I didn't notice parts of bodies were phasing through desks, chairs, hats, etc. So those had to be reshot. On upgrading to Ren'py 8, the $ renpy.cutscene function started blackscreening and I have no idea why, so all the voicemail videos had to have their code changed. Some of the patrol sequences featured characters that were missing, so I figured out how to set conditional variables to show certain patrol images if those characters are missing. Lastly, there's a very, very special scene in this that I needed some help animating, so I contracted someone to help me out with some Timeline animation. It's not top of the line cinematic, but I hope everyone enjoys the extra effort.

If anyone can figure out what's wrong with the Cutscene function, lemme know, 'cause that was cleaner than using the Scene command and then a Pause for however many seconds the video is supposed to last.

Anyways, we'll need a few days for everyone to test the full build and all the side stories, and then for Estrada to get the Android port made if there's nothing else to fix. Then we'll have it in the release pipeline and on its way to you! I was hoping to have it out by my birthday (July 30th) but well, I was fighting with GitBash so that didn't happen.

We've also demonetized WCA on Itch, so people can't leave tips anymore, and we ended up getting reindexed there. If you'd like to say thanks, you can always hop over to our SubscribeStar or Patreon pages.

That's it for now. Back to work. Real excited to get this out to you all.

August 2025 Calendar with Birthdays + 4K Render

Little late with this calendar, but I think you'll forgive me. Main game is higher priority than the extra content, and we do things like this when there's not something important to do in the main game.

image_2025-08-03_035327512.png

Here's our August calendar! Unwatermarked version and 4K render attached at the bottom of the and posts (<--click the words to go there).

From left to right:
  • Ms. Clements (Lillian)
  • Shoo
  • Kanako (Confidence)
  • Jade (Fancy)
I'm kinda floored with how this Kanako outfit came out. I know I've used it in a previous Pinup Pack, but it was too good not to put it on the calendar. She's kind of a sleeper, and I'm here for it!

Regarding the main game, I have the PC and Mac builds done, as well a the updated Fantasies Collection (because of a new H-scene we're shipping to you in this next build) and Senia's finished DLC. All of this will begin making its way down the release pipeline once I get the Android build from Estrada. Just a little longer!

[RELEASE] 1.4.8.0 Main Story Update

GOOD. LORD. This episode is massive, no two ways about it. We have about 60% of the full episode done, and we opted for a split release because of how huge it is.

I played through it on Auto mode, and it took me about 2 hours to get through if you include the side content. I know most people read faster than that, so I'm estimating about an hour and a half more playtime.

This Main Story update is resolving some of the longest running conflicts in the story. We spent a lot of time setting these story beats up, and it's time to knock them down.

RELEASE SCHEDULE:

  • August 3rd (Now): T5/T4 Supporters (found at and , if you want instant access)
  • August 11th: T3 Supporters ($10)
  • August 18th: T2 Supporters ($5)
  • August 22nd: T1 Supporters ($2)
  • August 25th: PUBLIC (Free)
IN THE WORKS:

  • Season 2 Episode 5 (Part 2 of 2)
  • Senia Full Release
  • Fantasies Collection Update
CHANGELOG:

1.4.8.0 - Main Story Content Update

  • Petra scene count increased to 3
  • Blossom scene count increased to 4 (H-scene included)
  • Galka scene count increased to 6
  • Nook scene count increased to 3
  • Yuka scene count increased to 1
  • DLC Compatibility change (Senia will be updated soon)
  • Added Season 2 Episode 5, (Part 1 of 2) to Main Story
  • Added conditional code to Blossom's story
  • Added conditional code to Patrol sequences
  • Removed Post Play Poll from end of S2E4
  • Added conditional code to all new side story scenes, requiring main story progress

[ACCESS] 1.4.8.0 Moving to T3 Early!

Hey all! We've had a good handful of signups on Patreon and SubscribeStar, so as thanks, the newest Main Story update is moving to T3 access early! Here's the new schedule:

  • August 11th August 9th (Now): T3 Supporters ($10, found at and )
  • August 18th August 16th: T2 Supporters ($5)
  • August 22nd August 20th: T1 Supporters ($2)
  • August 25th August 23rd: PUBLIC (Free)
As you can see, I haven't just moved T3's access date like I have in the past. EVERYONE is getting it 2 days earlier due to the amount of signups.

Worth noting, there ARE exactly two lines in S2E5 with errors that our T5 and T4 peeps caught. One is in a conversation with Lirum, and one uses the default name (Aurum) instead of the player's name because I forgot to put in the variable. I have fixed those on my side, but haven't pushed a new build yet because I'd like WCA to get out to a larger sample size to see what else might be caught. I will likely make the fixes and push a new 1.4.8.1 build out once it's time for T2's access.

Feedback in general has been very positive. Lot of people have commented on just how LONG this update is as far as playtime, and I couldn't be happier. I played through it on Auto mode, and it was around two hours. Fairly certain all of you read faster than that, so take that number with a grain of salt, but even just this update was something like 150% as big as previous full episodes have been.

Anyways, enjoy the story, T3 peeps! If we keep getting signups, I'll adjust the schedule again and get it out earlier to everyone!

[T3 RELEASE] Senia's Full Story Now Available to T3!

Hey, all! With WCA 1.4.8.0 moving to T3 access on SubscribeStar and Patreon, Senia's romance route has now been made available to T3 supporters! T3 and up can download her and the updated Fantasies Collection for free here:

Senia has 22 scenes and a chapter select at the end that lets you replay any of her scenes at any time once you've finished her story. We're super excited to have our first additional romance route out and available for people, and we hope you all enjoy her!

Senia will launch to the public for $5 once T2 gets access to 1.4.8.1 next week, and T2 supporters get half off all finished DLCs. The .1 version contains some small typo and code fixes that our wonderful T3 people noticed for us. T1 supporters, Free supporters, and the Public will be able to purchase Senia, but be aware that she won't work without WCA 1.4.8.0 or higher due to a difference in Python versions between Senia and 1.4.5.0, so you may wish to wait until the public access of 1.4.8.0 before you buy her.

If you're unable to support financially but want a shot at Senia's story, keep an eye on the Discord. We're planning a couple of giveaways with both Senia and the Fantasies Collection soon, and we don't want to just paywall people who can't support financially out of experiencing Senia's story. She's our first "DLC Character," and we're eager to see what people think of a full additional romance route.

T3 and up, enjoy! T2 and below, I'll see you next week with the public launch!

- Vic
