Hard to say from that, but for now, we do not have much of her side story done. She will get a few scenes after the next update, though. The main focus is the overall story. The optional character romance relationships are a significantly smaller part of the overall project, especially if you only choose a few.

The early parts of Eshtel's story (S1) really doesn't mesh with the S2 stuff. I'm guessing most of S1 romance related/adjacent stuff of Eshtel still needs to be rewritten??
I did see the post on the giving away a LI rubbed people the wrong way and needed a remake, and seems like it'll have to be a bit of main story rewrite for there to be a way to make S1 and S2 Eshtel main story elements work

For WCA, story richness and variety are the name of the game. If you only like one out of the 49 love interests, you may feel like you're being forced to interact with the rest, especially in Season 1, when I had no idea how to code and was writing the game as if it were a novel (since that was my experience at the time). I had a Something For Everyone approach to the characters, and I feel like there are enough similar characters that you might end up liking more than just River, so I'd say try it out and see how you feel about it. In the end, though, it's a harem game, and I find that people who are only into one love interest don't really tend to go for harem games.

As far as River goes, though, she's considered a Secret character, as her story is a bit complicated and has a sort of hidden twist to it. People have gotten angry about said twist before, and others have loved it. I suppose the only way to know is to try it.

Yeah, I had to do some BIG changes because, as I mentioned in the above reply, I was writing in novel mode. I wasn't familiar with the AVN community and the massive faux pas that is giving away a love interest without the player's consent. Could you provide some (spoilered) examples of what you feel doesn't match up? This could be extremely useful as far as improving the story quality and consistency. Feel free to drop into the Discord, too, 'cause I'm far easier to reach there.

I appreciate the kind words, and I'm very glad you've enjoyed what we've made.

I feel like feedback is important. On one hand, I'm no stranger to firing back when someone is just needlessly shitting on things in a caustic manner because they find it fun. But real discussion, constructive criticism, and discourse regarding the user experience is not only valuable data, I feel it's integral to the life cycle of a game like WCA. The community makes the game. Without the community, this'd just be some forgotten piece of software languishing on a hard drive somewhere. Input from the other side of the proverbial counter helps improve the game experience for everyone.


I'm honestly surprised at how many people are in love with this simple little world. This is honestly a very shallow world comparted to what I created in The Riftkey Chronicles and in any of the tabletop worlds I create for my players. Our plan is to finish out the main story, then fill out all of the Side Stories and DLC romance routes. We're only gonna start on the next project once we've finished WCA's main story and have made some headway on WCA's Side Stories. After Season 2 Episode 5, we have 3 more main story episodes. I'll repost the roadmap:

We're sort of halfway between 1.4.5.0 and 1.5.0.0. The main story blocks are the ones with the numbers on top, and they show the main antagonist we're focused on. The Side Story updates are the ones with the numbers below, and they show which 4 girls are getting their scene count increased. I've kept the antagonist for the final episode a mystery on purpose. After that, we'll just keep filling out the Side Stories, as I said.

As for our next project, no, it'll have nothing to do with this world. I have so many stories and worlds I wanna work on, and I'm honestly very eager to put WCA to bed. It's been available to the public for 4 and a half years, and I wanna work on something else lol. I want to take everything I've learned from WCA and put that towards our next game.

I do have more writing, if writing is what you're after. I've tossed around the idea of making a VN out of my book series, The Riftkey Chronicles, but I would need a LOT of custom mods done, especially environments and monsters. Not a lot of people know this, but there are three Riftkey characters in WCA. Wither, Saarya, and Maika are all from my book series, and I was very surprised that Wither is far and away the favorite. The series is where the Dryad language comes from, as well as the concept of Arutheni and a lot of the things surrounding the design of Dryads.

I'm working on audiobooks right now because I know flat prose is the hardest medium to digest these days. I WANT a cartoon/anime style show, but that's a long ways away.


I honestly wish our updates were faster so we could have solved that for her sooner. I, too, am quite relieved. She's such a fun character to write.

Thanks for the clarifying answer Dev helps a lot and fair enough can understand you moving on to newer projects after giving WCA a good conclusion...... That need to be creative and do more in a new world definitely is an interesting prospect! Also on you being surprised about people loving this simple world.... can't say for others but yea the reason why loved and eventually supported the game was because of MC lol. Yea the girls are terrific but this kindness from MC was something that found inspiring and wholesome, so stuck along in the project in '23 and it has been a pleasure to see this game develop. Am confident though you must have planned great things in WCA so am assured it'll have a satisfying conclusion(and a epilogue if you make it). Appreciate the links also will definitely browse them as love your writing so similar works are always welcome!

It's a process, definitely. Quality over Quickly, and Quality over Quantity are what I try to aim for, but I also want to deliver things within a reasonable time, so I do edge toward the happy medium.

Yes, for now, those are the only two. People have requested that we put most of our focus on the main game, so we develop a single DLC at a time on the side so as not to neglect the main game.

You also have access to all of the Pinup Packs, and I believe also the two Pandora's Box packs are free to you, as well. Pandora's Box is an extra spicy set of renders, and each pack has a fully animated HMV that I made, so don't miss those

[PROGRESS REPORT] Fingers Crossed for a New Fight Idea​

Hey, all! Been a little longer than I'd like since the last progress report, and that's because I was aggressively pursuing an idea I had for the upcoming fight scene.
