So I know the privilege squad are going to shout me down for questioning their righteous furry; but here goes.
I feel like the anger is because people expect this VN to be delivered like clockwork and it never is. The problem isn't really that you aren't getting what you want when you want it, but rather, the problem is that you expect something that isn't going to happen.
WVM will never have a regular update schedule. Screaming into an echo chamber about that will not fix that: Nothing will fix that.
WVM will never have incest. Screaming into an echo chamber about that will not fix that: Nothing will fix that.
That clockwork schedule is only expected because Braindrop introduced that schedule. Those type of expectations would be unfair if it came out of the blue. Either way, those were the guidelines he wanted to use for the year.
And that’s the point… these are his expectations too. Which is why he is so disappointed in every dev log when his own expectations aren’t met. Have you seen dev logs from other games? I’m not sure if it’s supposed to read like apology letters or transcripts from a therapy session.
Games like The Genesis Order or Grandma’s House also follow a similar clockwork schedule. But the thing is, they garnered a reputation of consistent releases and rarely delay release dates. Hell, on the NLT Media website there’s even a live countdown for the next update. Those games are confident in this type of clockwork schedule, mainly because the developers premade a chunk of content/renders to be sprinkled throughout the coming weeks, without the worry of feeling left behind.
As for the incest complaints… well that echo chamber is a whole ‘nother type of breed. (See what I did there)
