AJCasino: You wrote such a thoughtful response to me, I felt you deserved something in kind. So here goes:
1) I applaud you for showing support to Braindrop. He enjoys working on this game so much, he already has the story thought out and you know that's never easy with the old "pen to paper" saying when it comes to writing a story without the block. Then come up with creative options for choices on top of that, very demanding work indeed.
Totally agreed. I have a BA in Creative Writing, so I definitely understand and appreciate the degree of effort BD puts forth in entertaining us. His Patreon seems to be one of the most successful I've seen, so I know you and I aren't the only ones seeing that -- and responding by ponying up some cash for him.
In any case, I just wanted to do a little more than shout "HEY, YOU'RE AWESOME, BD!". That doesn't exactly help him pay his bills, even if it's probably very gratifying. Since I'm fortunate enough to be in a position to do so, I'm supporting him financially.
2) All of us are awaiting the basketball games, but they still have to get the entire team together. He didn't necessarily struggle against Skye like you said, remember Harper had him evaluate Skye's skills. MC was surprised when Skye chose to power through him for the first basket and then backed off for the jump shot. After that, MC beat Skye 43-19. We still have yet to see the bench players show up, much less have a full team practice so everything's still a work in progress.
Both you and another poster have mentioned that you disagree with my depiction of MC "struggling" against Skye. You're probably right in that it wasn't a completely fair description...but let me explain what I meant by that:
As I said, I feel that MC is being portrayed as being a generational collegiate talent -- on the level of LeBron (had he actually gone to college), Jordan, or their ilk. I can virtually guarantee you that trotting out a walk-on in a dress against any of the aforementioned players would have resulted in a far more lopsided score. I sincerely doubt that they would have managed a single point, to be honest. You (and the other poster who mentioned this; I'm sorry, I can't remember who it was off the top of my head) bring up a good point when you say that the game was supposed to be an assessment of their skills, but in each time MC has done this against his future teammates, there's been some point or another when he's been genuinely pressed. I know it's being done for the sake of exposition and to establish their characters...but I just don't find that plausible. He should basically be punking the best players in the nation. Walk-ons should be less than nothing, to him.
In any case, it's just a minor quibble. I'm probably the only person that cares about it, anyway.
3) Everyone has their personal kinks, but as far as the girls go how can you go wrong with so many tasty options? Bailey is super cute and sweet. Zoe for some reason has that old Taylor Swift look with how the hair and face is that makes her adorable. Shauna (female) is just adorable with those eyes and hair. Stacey what can you say, redhead with freckles makes her look even more beautiful. Natalie is a sweetheart, that new haircut really brings out her eyes.
I completely agree -- and I hope I didn't make it sound like I dislike the choices MC has for the girls in his life! There's so many amazing women in this game. Since others are sharing their favorites, here's mine:
9. Stacy;
8. Shauna;
7. Bailey;
6. Harper;
5. Natalie (I know I'm in the minority here, but I much preferred her original look);
4. Elizabeth;
3. Jamie (Best girlfriend ever);
2. Alexis (I'm mildly surprised she doesn't make more "favorite" lists);
1. Zoe.
(What can I say? Nine's my favorite number
)
In closing...you have my sincerest condolences,
Braindrop. I have no family of which to speak, so I can't even imagine what this might be like for you. You and your aunt are in my thoughts.
