The real problem now is less that season 1 is terrible and more that season 2 is written with the rework in mind and doesn't connect to the original season 1. There is a lot of inconsistency and a bunch of characters who show up out of nowhere and act like they've been around all along.

The answer is that incest was very much intended before Patreon banned it. The fact that he's continued playing into it is down to any number of factors:
Contrarianism, since people are annoyed by it
A semblance of consistency, since Cedar was already established that way
Tone-deafness, dude is just autistic and can't understand why people are annoyed by the teasing
Stringing along a few people who think it might eventually happen, in truth, I even find myself thinking that after the game is finished (lol) a patch could be made with the incest content, to circumvent Patreon, but then I remember who BD is and I just chuckle to myself.

I would tend to believe it's your first choice. He's publicly stated he's a contrarian, I assume that's why you said that. Which is the exact reason we constantly see the duck lips or why Cedar constantly says "bru bru" every chance she gets. He knows people are annoyed by it, and purposefully adds more to troll fans.

I don't think he teases the incest because it annoys people, I think he does it because he knows so many people want it. He has no intention of ever adding it and only does this to draw that reaction of getting so close to that line, but they never do. Again, to troll his fans who want a relationship between Cedar and his "mother", I can't remember her name.

I said this before, but if BrainDrop, if for what ever reason , did decide to cut down the number of girls the MC can have relations with I vote ( for what ever it's worth) is the following (Excluding Jamie and Shauna as they are pretty much core characters)

1. Bailey
2. Tia
3. Jasmine
4. Zoelle (I think that's Zoe's mother) She finer than her daughter
5. Rachel (Just as top 5 is always a good amount)

But the numbers will only grow , I don't and can't seen BD removing any characters!

Opportunism , greed . At first milking something for the longest time , since he knew people were jonesing for it . And then some more , once Patreon striked , and he knew that he would no longer do it , but still dangling the hope in front of those people .

Personally it reminds me of exactly how the Dual Family Dev did things.... even the same derision to their customers, followed by ghosting everyone.

To be fair, when you're on Patreon it's not the smartest move to tell strangers online that you're going to break their rules.

I think the smarter approach is to strongly deny everywhere and to everyone that your game is about incest or that it will be part of it and then just release a patch anonymously, you could even fake being mad about the patch too, lol. Or, simply use something else than Patreon and create whatever you want to without having to worry about anything.

There's a certain dev, which I won't name for obvious reasons, that's been around for a long time that does something like that, to the point that some of his Patreon supporters are convinced his games have nothing to do with incest.

Of course, one of the problems with Braindrop is that he never hid the relationship between the characters so patching in incest would be a lot more suspicious and time-consuming because it would need to add actual renders of scenes with those characters. Another thing is that nowadays it seems like he's lost interest in the game and just sporadically updates it so he doesn't lose supporters so he's not going to put his cash cow in jeopardy for very little possible gain.

Not buying it really .Even then he could have toned down the undertones in interactions with Azel and Cedey . those are weirder than even in games featuring incest lol . Hell even with the real mother , when the decision to not feature incest was already in effect . Imo he wanted to avoid those patreon issues sure , but while still baiting hard , the unaware incest fans . Not to mention fanning the flames for those hoping for a patch or change of heart

Maybe I'm giving him too much credit, but I think that incest was definitely planned in the beginning, not just bait. He has certainly been bainting it for years now, after he confirmed it wouldn't happen, so he's not innocent of this. But I think that if Patreon hadn't cracked down on incest, it would've already been included by now.

I still laugh my ass off every time I remember that this dumbass actually said that his family play his porn game.
