The big difference is that the devs of those other games make it clear when they anticipate for releases to happen, and they have pretty clear expectations of what should be in it. Much the same as Grandma's House.... You don't get massive updates, but they are pretty close in size each time, and he has a set schedule for his drops, which he doesn't miss. He seems to be fairly active here and presumably on his discord.
Braindrop has an issue that has been explained a few times over above this post. He sets a release date, then misses it. He promises 1000 Renders, and only drops 250. He promises open, transparent communication and ghosts everybody for 2+ Months.
It's not a terrible game, It just has an absolutely garbage person for a dev. All this is made worse by the fact his supporters mostly don't hold him accountable for his shitty behavior, and just sit back simping for him hoping if they go hard enough, he will recognize them and release some content.
