No, not for a second do I believe the nonsense and excuses BD usually makes for not releasing content, but for them to stay silent while losing cult idiots... I mean, paying subscribers on Patreon.
This is simply not how BD operates. I definitely smell something fishy here. Could it be that the announcement of their total abandonment is finally approaching, or maybe in a totally unexpected twist, BD is getting down to serious work!

This whole circus is just pathetic at this point. BD’s constant bullshit excuses are just noise—because let’s be real: you’re more likely to catch him LARPing as Mackenzie than actually ‘working’.
Now, to be fair - mental health struggles are no joke. I'm the last person to dismiss that.
But if he hasn't completely checked out, he could at least pretend to care. These month-long radio silences followed by some hollow "Not abandoned, not dead. Still alive, still working" - which tells us absolutely fucking nothing about actual progress, btw.
Here's the thing: if he just said straight up — "Look, I fucked up pretending I had everything under control. I'm still working, but it's going painfully slow" I'd actually believe there's hope left. TLDR:
I can't believe I'm saying this, especially after seeing the daily "Well, it's groundhog day" meme in discord and then posting something similar, and getting it removed. There certainly seems to be a clique and way too much drama and "in crowd" there. Dysfunction abounds and that's why I just read and interact here instead.
To riff off "Now, to be fair - mental health struggles are no joke.", I can relate on a high level: When my life is going to crap, or when it's going better than expected, my FB presence is always consisting of goofy (to me, ymmv) memes and photos of my cats and/or dog. I mentioned losing 150 lbs over the course of last year (mostly dietary cutbacks to human proportions and steady prescribed diuretics). After layoff in January beginning in Feb being unemployed, I put half of it back on. Apologies to "coming out" of the pantry, this is the first I've mentioned it anywhere.
BD may, in fact, be posting "Hey, I'm still here, and working on it" occasionally while completely submerged in whatever muck and mire he has in his life. We all (to my knowledge) would prefer to have a clean internet/public image, so I'm sure there are things no one here wants "out". If it's a case of "I'll just milk this shit until I have to find another income" or "Holy shit I can't seem to catch up", we'll never truly know what's what.
I just know that I have enjoyed the story to this point, and like the updates that are more in line with (my opinion) story progression as opposed to "Grandma's House" updates where the story is stagnant but he's notched a few more notches on his bedpost.
I'll go back to being silly now lol

Respect for sharing your story — but when BD’s 'mental health' only comes up around missed releases, it feels less like a struggle and more like a strategy. Not saying his struggles aren’t real... but damn, how convenient is that?
To be fair, it's probably hard for him to remember all the lies he's told throughout the years, I think you should lower your expectations (if that's even possible) of him being consistent with his lies. I will believe it if by some miracle he posts it altogether, not chunks and whatnot.
But as per the april 24 report, he had ~750 done. Sooooo he did, lets be naive and say he really did something, 500 renders in over 3 months? Damn that collarbone injury...
But lets be real, he wont release 1200+ renders at once. 1) it is not done, period. 2) even it it magically was, he can milk that for like half a year at least.

I did..It's no surprise if you think about it...He can say this or that happen but without any proof nobody believes him...I know a dev that lied about being in a car accident and that it was the reason he delayed his update.. Well, we've got numbers posted. The real question will be how much of that 1200 renders and 30 animations will get chopped up and piecemealed out to us in 4 to 5 updates.
Seen too many times about "issues with packaging the update so this is only about 200 renders. the rest will be out as soon as i fix some things."
