5. and Japanese locale
6. disabled antivirus
7. The maximum allowed path length is 244 characters - done

This savefile does not apply because it is the Japanese version. Requires Steam version.

Did it work for you after installing the redistributables?!

I used the one that came with Yamizone Revenger, their automatic installer is broken but it includes vcredist_x86.exe which works if you manually open it and not through the installer
