Adjustable zoom speed during battles, so I don't have to wrestle my mouse just to position the camera
I hate to be that guy, but... You keep calling it a zoom, it's actually a dolly. A zoom is a change in the camera's viewing angle, not position. Moving the camera forward and backward is called dollying.

Anyway, yeah I do agree the change to the camera is a step in the right direction, but it still needs work.

While the camera's rotating speed now being based on mouse speed is good, moving it with right click still isn't. And while you can change sensitivity in the options, it affects both rotation and movement, with the former being way faster that the latter. This means I have to choose between lowering the camera sensitivity to have decent look speed but excruciatingly slow movement, or still slow but bearable movement but a camera orbit that flings itself around 720 degrees with a tiny flick of the wrist.

The X and Y rotation also have wildly different sensitivities, the camera rotates left and right much, much faster that up and down. This just feels very off.

Last but not least, dollying the camera with the mousewheel out of combat feels extremely buggy. Oftentimes I find myself wanting to move it closer, but mousewheel up makes it move backwards instead for a few notches, acting very jerky, until it's moved a certain distance away at which point it actually does what I tell it to do.

(If I had to guess from my very limited game dev experience, it seems to me like the game tries to remember your preferred boom length setting, but does not lerp the camera's actual distance towards it unless you're actively manipulating it. The default "setting" also appears to be a good distance farther away than the actual default camera distance, which is quite close behind the character. Thus why any manipulation makes the camera dolly back no matter what for a while after loading into a new area, I guess?)

Oh, and it was much worse a few versions back, since whenever the camera collided with walls, it just got stuck at that closer distance, bringing back the buggy mousewheel dolly in full force. But then, I dunno if that was a deliberate band-aid solution for that or something, but now it doesn't happen since the camera just clips right through walls, which is it own polish issue I suppose.

So, tl;dr, to make the camera feel decent in my humble opinion, make movement be affected by mouse speed too, adjust sensitivities to be more consistent, fix mousewheel dolly outside of combat (and if you succeed, make it collide with walls again), and speed it up in combat (or change it to something that lets it be moved by the mouse).

Everyone understands in context what they mean by zooming. Nobody calls it "dollying" unless you're trying to be technical. :LUL:

I love how people is like "how come you do not have these quality of life improvements that this other games, made by teams of up to 100+ people had years ago?"

I'm only one person, I can only work 200 hours per week on a game, instead of 10000+ hours that youget when you have a huge team and budget.

Give me the budget to hire that many devs and you can nitpick as much as you want lol

Finishing touches will be done and polished whenever I get the time for it
Zed, nobody is expecting triple A huge team budgets, you already have a fantastic and unique game. It's just feedback and people telling issues they encountered that lessened that experience, which is what you said you come here to see.

If you are starting a new small restaurant and someone comes in and likes the food but complains about the crack in the wall where they ate, you don't go "well give me a big budget like the big restaurants and maybe I would fix it!". You make do with what you got, whether that is saying you'll work on getting it fixed for next time, or you say you can't get it fixed right now because you are fully focused on renovating the kitchen, or that you looked into getting it fixed but it would cost way too much and is not feasible, it all still comes across better than the first response.

Is it possible to do just a quick tone fix for the initiative bar?
Would changing "Hairstyle X" to full on image previews be possible or require so much work it delays meaningful updates significantly and so it's worth putting it on the backburner for now?
Can camera rotation/zoom speed be sped up or an adjustable option added to not be so slow? Is this an easy implementation for you or does the backend code make it a much larger ask?

If you truly want the support and sales to get the budget to have a big team, and it's safe to say we want that for you too, then realistically, it would help not giving snarky and sarcastic answers instead of simply answering legitimate feedback.

The people that you rescue say they'll be at the home base, but I haven't been able to find them. Is there a step that I am missing?

Edit: I figured it out. I just had to leave after the first time back at base and then come back.

Can't seem to open the game, stuck in a black loading screen and then it eventually crashes
The game is very resource hungry, on max settings, total VRAM usage hits almost 10GB.
You can see before/after starting the game:-
Before.jpg After.jpg
Generally speaking for most games these days, Minimum VRAM your GPU should have is 6GB, preferably 8GB.
Minimum RAM your system should have is 8GB, preferably 16GB.
Virtual memory on SSD should be double your system RAM, unless if you already have a lot of system RAM.

Try applying the registry in the attachment(extract it first), it sets the game's graphical settings to the lowest and resolution on 720p@30FPS.
Then launch the game and see if the game loads.

As I tested with it and total VRAM usage went down to 3GB, so even GPU with 4GB VRAM should be able to at least launch the game. Usage may increase when playing, especially on certain stages, so it may crash later depending on how limited your specs are.

by all means still wanna try this out, but has the performance stuff been fixed a bit? I had SOME lag on the lower settings of this dev's other games, but this one was borderline unplayable.

The Project has this Bug, approximately, from Version 0.3.0 .
Try to click on the Shortcut twice and don't touch the Mouse anymore...even, don't move the Mouse.
Approximately, half a Minute...should go on the Loading to the Inscription "Press the E Key".
Until, this Inscription is not displayed, don't touch the Mouse.
I have the same problem.
If I open a Project and move the Mouse, then try to click, then the splash screen appears, then the black screen and freezes.
If I click again, then "Operation has been terminated".
And if I don't move the Mouse, then after about half a minute, after the splash screen, it continues to load, then asks me to press the E key.
