Twelve chicks with whorish makeup? Not really my thing, but I thought I'd at least give the gallery a chance. Turns out it's not a porn gallery but an everything gallery. Bummer. Anyways, the animations didn't work. Not sure if it's a frame rate issue or what. Regardless, off to the recycle bin with this one.

Are people having playback issues in the game, or is it because they're downloading compressed/modded versions of it?

Some people mentioned that when a video plays, a checkered image appears for a split second. This issue is caused by modded versions of the game. However, I’ve reworked the animations, and they should have a better framerate this time. So, it shouldn't happen in the original-sized version—unless it's a problem with the compressed version. Then there's nothing I can do about it...

For Movies, as long as you're using "start_image" and optionally set the scene to that same image, there shouldn't be any issues with the checkered image.
For image sequences, using "renpy.start_predict()" before showing it, should preempt most issues as well.

Ever little bit can definitely help, but regardless of how a dev tries to compensate there's always edge cases. The above to snippets *should* mitigate some issues, but there are always edge cases in the variability of systems. There are a number of player-side issues that can cause issues to, such as not disabling power saving within Ren'Py... which can surprisingly have a large impact on *some* systems.

When Cyberpunk 2077 first released, other than the T-Pose when driving downtown at high speed, I had no other crashing, noticeable bugs, quests break mid-way, or phone issues. And I don't have a top tier system. But many, many, other players had constant crashing, bugs, and disk streaming issues. Was a nice change of pace to be the edge case for not having problems. :ROFLMAO:

Mr. Herrderr75 what you've just said... Is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point, in your rambling, incoherent response, were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Hol' up, did I miss something?
From v0.4 to v0.4.1a, there are some reworks and extensions, but the filesize goes from 4.7gb to 10.2gb? What did he rework it with, 8k uncompressed images?
I've genuinely NEVER seen such an absurd filesize bump in such a small timeframe.

I know, right??????
Just imagine going through a painful 10 minute download process now so that later on we can download smaller and easier update patches...

It's more "where the fuck is all that size actually going?" type of deal after dealing a lot with files and IT for the last 20 years. I just cannot fathom doubling the filesize in a 0.0.1 update difference.
I live in a part of the world where 1gb download speed is close to the norm so I never give a shit about download size, but I'd actually want something out of having double the filesize all of the sudden outside of some scene extensions and reworks.

Call me illogical but reworking scenes, unless the scene is completely FUBAR, is much better suited for after a project is finished for a number of reasons. One is that it doesn't interfere with current development and second is that you can then release a "definitive edition" or some other buzzword and cash in even more.

I don't mind this rework since it wasn't released as only an rework update , like other do. Since it was worked before Ch 3 was released and just wasn't ready when Ch 3 was out.

V040 had only the Chapter 3 content, with low-quality video files, missing scenes and images. V041 has been completely reworked from the start, with content for the Prologue, Ch1-2 and 3, including content I hadn't added to the game until now.
If file size is your concern, I believe someone compressed it to under 1GB and shared it here—you can download that. But if you're just looking for a reason to complain, I can't help you with that. Sorry...

I'm more astounded how you managed to double the filesize despite all of that without doing something like 4k+ renders and .avi files for animations. This isn't a dig against you, I am genuinely just confused as to how it got to that amount given that v0.4 had some fairly well done compression from the get-go for the amount of content.

If you somehow attributed my confusion as malice, I can assure you that I meant no such thing, I'm more just curious as to what filetypes/compression/resolution etc you're using as v0.4 definitely didn't seem lacking in quality compared to 98% of other games.
