I kinda like the game but the execution wasn't quite spot on. For example, in some scenarios, it wouldn't load "corridor_log.webm" but I could skip past it. I start out as a human who moved around a lot but focused on the Briallen world and culture. But that did not help me as far as I can tell with Aberoin. Then I graduate having good relationships with the crew so we end up on the Oraga. And I'm the second-in-command. So I though "now this will get even more fun". But no, that is not the case. I passed the mission and then it looped back to graduation day. GROUNDHOG DAY! Repeat!
EDITED- Added hints since I'm noticing some of you have trouble so I'll type what I did.
Hints:
-- Start on easy the first time. You get unlimited rerolls at creation so reroll to make sure none of the the modifiers are negative. When rolling, there's 2 columns there. The left column is the initial stat and the number to the right of it is the modifier which affects how fast you learn it (I think).
-- I hung out with each crew member once a week minimum. What I did was I studied, practiced, and hung out with them. I used ALL the options at least once. It'll take about 30 points to get to the flirting level then flirt at least once a week to keep it up. Except I didn't flirt with Mivak. He was my cool engineering study and sparring buddy. I think everybody was at least 60 points relationship at graduation. If you do some planning, it means visiting your crew takes up 4 evening spots so I would see 2 of them twice a week. That leaves one evening free. I would rotate between them and one time, I had to visit Serena 3 times because she was falling behind in relationship. FYI- she's a hot-headed little brat and my mc had to stand up to that prima donna. But I had to spend at least 2 weeks seeing Aberoin several times to bring her up from the negative. Not sure how a commander who lived with the Briallen as a kid wouldn't get along, but who knows???
-- I attended academy class twice a week until it got to level 11-12 then went down to once a week. Because the max is 13. Because there are 3 classroom spots left, I would switch between doing social and physical classes like this - 2 academy, 2 physical and one social the first week then I attended 2 academy, 2 social and one physical class the next week. By the time I graduated, I was at max in all classes.
-- I always focused on ONE stat per week and made sure I had 3 sessions scheduled and I would rotate them to build up my weaker areas and maximize what my strengths are because they somehow tie into your crew's stats. For example, I started with strength 3 times the first week and then switched to intelligence the next week. The very last week, I was actually at class maybe once a week and was filling it up with training and visiting to raise relationships.
-- I figured it was a balancing act and knew that Instructor Marston had a valid point: If I brought all of them up, the team won. And that's exactly what happened. And I did reserve one time slot per week for relaxation. Which brings me to another weird thing- I rarely had any interaction with the assistant I picked.
