This is kind of a surprise to me. Usually the bestiality and monster stuff gets so many likes, it's hard for a boring vanilla fan like me. So for an artist to cut down on the monster stuff is pretty funny.
While it's a shame because ZM was truly among very few who did high quality bestiality animations, being unhappy with what you do isn't healthy in a long run. I do sincerely believe it's matter of just discomfort rather than "I got big, no more bestiality because I love money and its risky."
That is backed by the fact that I've barely seen him plug his substar or patreon. Hell, his main base is on substar too so he can do whatever the fuck he wants.
Finally, post didn't mention the results of the poll. According to the latest result, most people voted him to not make 1 more animation. Meaning Hermione is likely the last bestiality animation he'll do.
(Kinda shame, I voted for 1 last anim so we can have final horse one)

He isn't cutting down on monster stuff though. Just animals. More so supported by fact that this month according to the schedule on discord we're going to get Triss + Leshen. He's even stated that animal-like monsters are fine.
Does Unicorn count as monster? Don't think so, since it's explicitly stated in books that they are extra-dimensional, sapient, sentient beings who have been long at war with elves. So, it will still be Ciri that is doing such stuff xD

Those were just examples tbh. He'll continue making monster animations as usual. Very likely next month we'll get BG3 animations with monsters from his polls. To my knowledge, ZM seems to have a secret stash of monster models.
I am pretty sure half of these aren't available anywhere like smutbase or similar.
I think the news sucks just because the majority of his content, like literally 75% of it at least, is beast and monster. So saying he is going to stop beast content might make it seem like vanilla is going to see more spotlight, but honestly monster is just going to win almost every poll now I'm guessing. He built a legacy of popularity from this type of content and then wants to cut out half of it, he should expect quite a few people to be disappointed. Of course I'm not saying he shouldn't do what he wants, its his decision of course, but not everyone has the luxury of working a job that they love 100% of every aspect about it. As a porn artist I would imagine it makes the most sense to please your fanbase, and his vanilla content is not where the majority of his fanbase lies. Just my thoughts

You are 100% correct about the polls. Every time there was during the polls monster vs bestiality, monster won. If he didn't have a ban system in place, monster would win every poll too. Majority of his fanbase is there for monsters, me included.
That being said; he has a lot of animations with humans that also did exceptionally well and were pretty great. Example would be the recent Panam anim.
I bet fair amount of people are disappointed but lot of seem to just respect ZM's preferences on it. More so when he's been breaking his back to make all those animations.
