Alright, some thoughts:

This game is pretty much a carbon copy of AZL on the most basic levels, you could almost call it a clone if the devs didn't say it was a spiritual successor. Even the main house' layout is more or less the same. Honestly, I like it since I really loved AZL. It combined two of the things I love most in fiction: zpocalypses and rampant sex. Kinda sick of shota protagonists though.

Side note: Wonder how they'd explain the whole "not turning into a zombie despite getting attacked" bit. The zombies not really damaging you further after a hit is obviously either a bug or deliberate beta restraint, but maybe there's something there.

I really find ScarlettAnn's art hot, and was really sad that Prince of Suburbia is "onhold." However, I have to admit there isn't much variety in faces and body types. Wish there comes a short-haired character too, Abby in AZL was fucking smoking.

The biggest complaint I have so far would be that the looting system plainly sucks ass. Limiting them to only a few spots with randomized lists AND taking days to restock is pure bullshit, especially in a game that has resource management. Guess bringing along another character is supposed to help alleviate that, but even that seems random. I got a "low water" message around the first restock and was almost panicking until the game decided to throw me a bottle(literally, it gave me ONE water across all of the salvage spots). That needs to change or get expanded in future builds.

Being able to set the women's relation to you is also an interesting mechanic to try and get around Pateron's new wussy rules, but it kinds makes the writing a little flimsy. It's so obvious Leslie's the mother and Rachel's the older sister. Using the preset "Maid" and "Tutor" labels made things kinds awkward. I'm honestly more than a little curious what the backstory is that sent you to a summer camp with your suposed maid and tutor; is the protagonist a rich as fuck orphan or something?

Finally, is this really supposed to be set in the same 'verse as Town of Passion? Nothing in that game told me the greater world has guns, or even electricity, in the slightest. Maybe Passion Town is really cut off from everywhere else, but it's kinda jarring. Not that big a deal, but pretty jarring nonetheless. Suddenly the Goddesses seem really small in scale.

So that's it. Hope updates are fast and substantial. Really excited for more.

The zombies not damaging you is a bug.

There's no backstory to explain that, it's literally just a patreon stopgap. Yeah, it means if you don't change it the writing comes off weird but you're not really supposed to keep it as-is.

Try "overgrown: genesis", while it isnt very big, it is well made with some good hscenes. (zombie-meat warning though/partly bestiality if you arent careful)

Honestly didn't think of that. Makes sense. Guess we'll have to wait until either game gets to the point of referencing the other before we can start piecing them together. Something like ZR's location turning out to be the same Valencia was standing on would be pretty cool, I think.

Only one or two in the western market and developed by people in the west I guess. But you're really undercutting a good amount of games made by the Japansese.
Besides, the western porn game market is in the early stages, it'll be a couple of years yet before we get any games that add to more genres.

Yup. Speaking to @nguyen, have you actually played any of the games I, or Daxter, posted (with female protagonists)? Parasite in City is arguably the gold standard for zombie platformers. Anthrophobia and O:G are quite good and are still in development. Virus Z and Zombie Survivor are decent. Hell, really the only English zombie game worth playing with a MALE protagonist is AZL and that one was abandoned anyway.

Well yes and no, the sex scenes with male protagonists in zombie games are mostly with humans.
If it's a female protagonist, it's the opposite, less with humans, more zombies.

I'm a huge fan of female protagonists in general, however, I prefer human sex in zombie games rather than rotting flesh inside women lol. Gives me the creeps. That's why I loved AZL, it kept the story decent. Just my opinion.

Haha, that's one of the only reasons why I disliked AZL, actually. The ambiance is incredibly different from what you would realistically expect from a zombie apocalypse. It's more of a incest-shota/kiddie feel, focused on having a growing, lusty harem, and the zombies are more of a side theme instead of the actual focus. Still a great game, and yeah, getting banged by a zombie would be a turnoff to some, but it's not realistic to me. Check out O:G, and compare that to AZL...it's sort of like comparing Dead Rising with The Last of Us, if that makes sense. And of course, it's not to knock your preference. We like what we like.

Since this is a thread about Male Protagonist and I have been shamed a lot already here every time I say in a female protagonist game that it would be better as male protagonist, I will say here what I can't say on Femlae Protagonist threads.

Games with female protagonists are lame! Either we have to watch a character in which we grew to like to be corrupted, raped, etc., or the game make we hate her, hence we hate the game... Third option, we play as perfect female and have to go around seducing male characters, from the female perpective... Yeah, might be good if you are a woman, or gay man...

Anyway, Male Protagonist game, if you don't like it do not play it.

My thoughts here. I'm a little more concerned with this game than AZL, since AZL was worked on for a LONG time. Nergal gave up in the end, yes, but before he did, AZL was basically done. AZR looks to be a poor man's AZL; it's obvious there's going to be very little emphasis on story and it's, as Siren has already said, only going to be a side-project while s/he works on ToP. Hard to get hyped about it, or even compare it to AZL in terms of how good it'll be, even with ScarlettAnn adding the art again.

While I laugh at that idea of the PC being rich as fuck orphan (He will become the Batman of the Zombie Apocalypse), its kinda bit an easy way out of Patreon's new rule about the incest thing. I mean, they aren't really incest IF the other characters aren't labelled as something of a relative. Plus to get more leeway from Patreon's eyes, the game made the players decide on what Leslie and Rachel will be.
Even if the story makes it look like Leslie and Rachel are the PC's Mother and Sister, the creator can simply say "I didn't say they are his Mother and Sister. As the start of the game implies, its up to the players to decide what they'll be so if they decide to make them as the Mother and Sister, I am not violating any rules here."

Siren is a fan of Nergal's Zombie Life and made a little sideproject he is doing in his free time with a similar concept, hiring the same artist, ScarlettAnn, so this is basically a clone and he never hid the fact actually For those who liked ZL yousee.

AZL had interesting story, expecially for a porn game, and believable characters that weren't trying to jump on MC in first few days. You actually had to corrupt them little by little and that's what made that game excellent, at least until 0.7 version approximately, where Nergal chose quantity over quality.
And what do we have here? First appearance of zombies is terrible: MC just goes to breath fresh air and voila! - it's zombie apocalypse now! Characters are boring and cliche'd: a typical mother, oh, I'm sorry "Maid" and "Tutor", who's obviously a sister with a typical and boring "older bitchy sister" character. First scene with mother is a copy of Town of Passion's scene which is a copy of A Zombie's Life scene - bathing with mother. First scene with sister? Don't know if I should laugh or cry: on second day of zombie-fucking-apocalypse they come to some old shed with (sic!) glory hole and MC just decides to stick his dick in this hole and his sister, I mean "Tutor" decides to suck it. Why? Because why not!
P.s. In AZL even the fact that main hero have big dick explained by virus and here? Nothing. He just a boy with unnaturally big dick... Awesome twist.

Yeah, that's my point. The plot is really nonexistent. I totally agree with you too--I don't think it's difficult to create a plot a zombie game. Hell, you start off with the most obvious trope of a "cabin in the woods" isolation.

Right now, in terms of plot, the entirety of the game is: "Hey, we're at a cabin. Hey, these guys are zombies now. Hey, let's bang." There's no reason for ANY of those plot concepts and none of them are even remotely connected, unlike AZL, which at least had a decent plot. And as you said, the characters are so one-dimensional. Even though you get to choose their names and occupations, they're copy-pasted big-sis/mother from AZL.

However, I'm bashing a demo at 0.01; hopefully it gets much, much better. I just don't see that happening because Siren has even less focus on this than Nergal did with his own game.
