Because the gallery isn't updated. It's mentioned in the release notes that it'll be updated at a later point.

Im having an issue with MC's name on 0.8.1, using the hotfix and nothing else. Sometimes its right, sometimes it looks like this
Sometimes it also shows a different name I used before, even tho I changed it in both persistent files (in the Renpy folder inside appdata and the one inside the saves folder). Like when its MC thoughts it just changes back and usually it takes a restart to a screen without a MC dialogue to fix it.

Yes. Things don't turn out very different, but the choices definitely aren't pointless ones and likely will have a bigger effect when we get to the endings.
