Upon finding out it was a black MC your first thought was "How can I make the millions of people that use F95 think i'm an idiot .... I know, racism"....

Well done you.
I imagine that's similar to people who object to seeing the MC at all and throwing a fit when they have beheld the MC's face. I remember the reasoning being something like, "Yada, yada, yada,... can't connect with the MC... yada, yada, yada...". I used to think it was because they realized they can't literally self-insert (some body parts don't reach as far as one might like). Turns out it was just a bad moustache day in the German bunker or something.

Hopefully not a racist but rather someone seeking immersion.
Idk cause like it's funny how op drew the line at a non white MC when there are literal aliens in the game. Something tells me immersion ain't the issue here XD But in all seriousness, there are a metric fuck ton of non POC MC's on here so OP can go ham XD

Game development 101, immersion can be critical to the experience. Some people find immersion through VR, others by relating either to tasks at hand (actions), emotion, story, all kinds of reasons. Doesn't seem unreasonable to want representation (Jew, Gentile, Black, White, Gendered). Would be nice for all games to have some ability to vary immersion for players. Granted certain technologies like Ren'Py are primitive and rely on pre-rendering mostly, understanding and patience help, but I could easily see immersion being the issue and reason for a pass, I don't see the hate for that. Then again, if it's racism, then flush the turd. (Just seems like it was assumed their reason was racist rather than immersion/accessibility.)

If this was as much as a problem as those certain people like to make it seem then I wouldn't have any games to play on this site since 99% of them have white protagonists.

Somehow that hasn't stopped my enjoyment.

Yeah, I don't think it usually is an issue for most, but I have seen people complain about that. I play some games where it's a female protagonist, but I'm a male. Does that mean I identify as a female now? No. I find the story interesting and play because I like the MC and other characters in the game as well as the plot, pacing, etc. But I guess some folks can't get beyond that.

Inclusiveness rocks. :) Shouldn't be complaining about skin color, rather about lack of options for self-preferred playstyle (immersion, etc).
Not really. While more options for diversity in the MC's appearance would be ideal, for anything made with a tool like Daz you'd need a separate render for each variation. Suddenly a scene that includes only 15 images requires 90 so you can include male and female genders in three different races. It gets out of hand very quickly.

Thanks for the insight, I have a new found respect for games that offer choice, speaking of choices I also know having choice in a game can also lead to things getting out of hand as well.

If it turns out it's okay for people to complain about skin colour for MC's then i'm going to every single male MC thread to complain it's not female.
Well...
I mean...
It's most likely a-okay if you complain when the MC has a certain skin color.
So... Enjoy spamming the other VN-threads here.

Well, people are already complaining "it's gay" in Every gay game thread so...

The problem for these complainer is, "Not every game needs to be made for you".
In terms of making Porn games, "Inclusiveness" is not always good, as the focus can be massive diverse

This was already covered in my one post that you replied to. On a side note, many developers don't realize they can use overlays much more efficiently, even animated ones. I can agree that it isn't cut & paste simple as a developer myself (non-Adult games) and we're probably not there in general VNs for maybe a decade or two before it becomes more common to see these kinds of choices.

For what it's worth, there are non-whites who play as white characters in games and still enjoy the games withour complaint. Same goes for comic characters like Batman or Superman. For a LONG time that was the only option and often still is. And guess what? They got used to it. And despite not having the same skin color, people can still relate to and or like a person's character. Otherwise only whites would like Superman and the original Spiderman, but that is obviously not the case.

In the rare instance the MC is not white and a person wants to play as white, well.... there are other games to play.... more than enough if that's all you want lol.

To the best of my knowledge they don't, only when someone specifies a "release", right?
That should be correct. They also aren't supposed to show up on Latest if the "release" is just a bunch of fixes, adding a few minor bits of text, etc. That's what this update was, though, so TBF this shouldn't have shown up on the Latest page, regardless.
