There was a significant presence of Arabs/Muslim for around 800 years (I think, Spain history is not my forte) prior to the Reconquista and subsequent expansion of what became "Spain" and well ... that must have added a lot to the Spaniard gene pool, + the immigration from the rest of Europe and whatever came back from the former colonies.
Just a looong development schema while we are still in the "I'll just redo the art and add some minor chances storywise"-phase.

The game is more than abandoned, it's just not officially announced because thanks to the enormous potential the game had, it still maintains some subscribers. Because the creator's will and commitment to taking this forward is 0!
Are there any other games like this that take months, many months to release updates? I loved this game too, but get real!

Nobody schedules anything even remotely reliably 3 chapters in advance. That may have been a general plan, but anyone who's been following any devs on this site knows that's not how anything works.
And considering Chapter 3 came out in, what, July? there's no way anyone would actually schedule Chapter 6 only 4 months later.

This is a rework with a new artist, it was supposed to be faster.
I mean, the dev itself said that the new chapter 6 should be release around August 2023 when one patron ask her about it, and u also need to remember that the old artist wants to leave one or two months before the dev announces that they will remakes the game with new artist, she said that the new artist already do the remakes around that time, and then, she choose to release the old chapter 5 with old artist even though its useless cuz the game will be remake after that, and this old chapter 5 takes around 3-4 months after they announced the remake thing, so this remake things should be done a lot faster
From what i see, this is just pure bad planning, the first one, the dev make a mistake before working with the old artist that end up with old artist copyrighting all of his art in the game when he leave (Which is dick move). the second one, she choose to continued the development of old chapter 5, which is useless, and she also need to pay the old artist AGAIN to complete that useless chapter while also paying the new artist that makes the remake of the game (This is just too stupid for me and doesnt makes sense). the third one, she disappeared for a month i think before she announced the remake thing, and left her patron clueless within this period, the fourth one, she choose to remake the whole game, instead of adding a little bit of new story and change all of the CG art to speed up the remake thing, so we can get the fresh new story as soon as possible, but now this process keeps on dragging and dragging for a long time
So for me, this is just pure bad planning, which is pretty expected cuz this is her first project in this industry, but i expected more and better than this tbh

I feel like I need to write something here. As someone who actually does do digital art (from scratch, no tracing) I do think the slow progress with the re release we can observe here must be due to the fact that the developer is stalling, not treating the project as a priority or simply not working on it at all or only part time.
75% time spent working on an illustration is figuring shit out. Here they clearly can rely on previous artist work. Obviously you can't copy the stuff but you already have the reference, colour scheme, composition figured out.
Single detailed background like those in the game will take around 20h to do from scratch. Tracing is even easier as you don't have to sketch, compose the pose etc. Massive shortcut to say at least. Characters is usually a set of sprites you swap and combine depending on a scene. Sometimes you are forced to add an expression or two.
In general when you have a mature project you only need to add a background or two and maybe a new character from time to time.
Story is basically the same as the old version + very minor changes.
Code is most likely swap file names + minor additions of new/ tweaked scenes.
To summarise - There is no way developer is not treating this as:" They are paying so why would I ever hurry things up.

I agree 100% i think that either she has no idea where to go after she gets to chapter 5 or shes very much seeing how far can she go without posting a game update, specially after this new update saying that the planning part is done but the rest will still take a while
