The skittlings are bugged for old saves in this version, they never try to grab krysten and when krysten says there are more them coming in fact no more skittlings appears. I had to make a new save just to in fact see that you need to wait almost 10 turns to a skittling to try to grab krysten just to see them hugging.
That’s right, the grab system in version C was a bit squiggly due to me focusing on the art stuff, but keep your save! Fortunately the bugs were fixed for Version D (out now on Patreon wink wink), though I’ve also upgraded the provided save in version D if problems arise.

Sorry about that, but I can’t update version C because… well, I already did, into Version D :geek:

It might interest anyone reading to also note that Version D has an increased the grab rate, and added the introduction of the difficulty selector, which allows players to determine how many times per round Kyrsten can get grabbed (only once, multiple times per round, every round). It’s being bug tested by my subscribers this month, but I’m extremely happy with the overhaul.

As for seeing the hugging, well that’s that censoring I mentioned.

Evening all, the newest versions of the game are now up on my Patreon and SubscribeStar pages – and I’ve just posted for an update here on the thread!

For the latest version of the game I’ve finished adding in a tonne of lineart that updated the Grab scenes to actually look pretty damn decent if I don’t say so myself, which I do.

Going into March I’ll be colouring them in and finishing off all the other Grab scenes that need some TLC, before finally getting back to the main story in April.

Fun fact, literally a week ago, RPG Maker released an official version of the grid/tactics system that I use for the game, which I will also be installing into SnakeByte Blue for April. As this is an official patch to the engine instead of a custom plugin, it should make the game much more stable and even allow me to actually solve/fix any bugs that arise due to it being officially supported (the author of the plugin I currently use has disappeared for about 3 + years now).

It might take a couple of weeks just to relearn this system but I foresee it being a huge relief to all the random bugs that SnakeByte Blue has during battle.

When your teammate gets grab she becomes useless through the battle. You can't use her anymore, even after killing enemies, she is stuck in perma grab.

A big thanks for the Bug Report, I happy to say that my Patrons also noticed the "Rio getting perma locked bug" when they played through Version D and I’ve fixed them in the Version E release currently available for paid users, and will be released for free next month of the 27th of March.

The Bandits don’t have sprite work yet because I’ve been reworking things from the ground up starting back at the Manor, and working my way back to Cycle Town updating art and assets as I go, so I hope you’ll stick round for the updates.

maybe I'm just a noob, but why do my saves never work with some games? like I save properly, multiple times, I close the game, and the next time I open it its like opening it for the first time again.

Better delete the whole stuff. Moving the girl is inpossible and fighting is a real pain in the ...... And now she is fixed in the wall and no way to get her out. And at the top of it : save don't work.

maybe I'm just a noob, but why do my saves never work with some games? like I save properly, multiple times, I close the game, and the next time I open it its like opening it for the first time again.
Hmm, not sure why the save files are not working.

May I ask, in the game’s folder under the “www” folder, should be the actual folder named “saves”. Is it there? If it is, is the Save folder empty or are the actual save files showing in the folder but NOT in the game itself?

Also are you using the provided save file (in the Extras folder)? Because if that save file is somehow corrupted I can fix that right now, but otherwise I’ll spend some time looking into this.

Hi, why is “moving the girl impossible”? The game is designed to work with both just keyboard, AND Mouse and Keyboard (as well as controllers) – so I need a little more information; which map is it you’re getting stuck and unable to move? Perhaps a screenshot?

I did a little map updates recently moving things around and making spaces bigger/easier to see, and thought I caught all of the bugs that spawn you on an impassable tile, but naturally a few bugs fell through the gaps. I’ll get that sorted for you as soon as I know where the bug is!



And another report of the save file not working. Is it the same as above, or is there some kind of error message coming up in the game?

Just thinking out loud here, but RPG Maker did do an update in-between the free version of the game (f95’s version) and the current version I’m working on, so that might be the culprit, but that’s just a quick google search, I’ll have to look into it properly later and get back to you all.


I can't move. And the funniest part is, ı've been playing for 6 hours in total and at this point I saved the game.

The game does auto save whenever you open the menu, but like DarkOg13 says, best to save often as you can – RPG Maker is a harsh mistress even when there’s not a rookie game dev like myself at the wheel!

If you still have the save, keep it, and I’ll get that tile fixed for the next update.

When fighting you have to read each time halve a novel of textes, whenever you know where you are and who is hitting. After two attemps - no more. Still hanging in the wall when you don't skip the intro. I play with gamcore to not corrupt my pc.

Well there’s your problem – Gamcore is awful. Well, I mean as far as game sites go its fine, but in this specific case, Gamcore messes up the RPG maker saves for SnakeByte Blue.

To be honest, you really should actually download the game and play it rather than using a browser, if not on here then via my Patreon or Subscribe Star (both have free Public versions). Personally I’ve never caught a virus of off F95 and trust it fully.

But yeah, GamCore messed up the save file structure somehow – you can see in the comments of the actual site that others have also noticed – so you can’t really enjoy the experience playing through GamCore.



Found out that to move the girl you have to click and then choose a dark point and then click on guard.
The movement of the game during battle is a tactics grid-based game rather than the usual Pokémon-style combat. I did put that in the game’s description, as well as in the prologue tutorial. The tutorial also covers that guarding is the fastest way to restore MP, and the game visibly shows Guard is the only option available when moving the character to a space with no enemies.

I do hope that the tutorial wasn’t worded in a way that was hard to understand.

Well, I mean, it IS an RPG. There’s going to be quite a bit of reading.
Although if you mean the grabs, I did used to have a “Skip Scene” feature, but unfortunately it was causing errors in the battle screen. Not much I can do there until the new engine update is complete (the one I mentioned above https://f95zone.to/threads/snakebyte-blue-v0-03d-public-backalley_gyc.131541/post-13078826 ) - hopefully I can re-introduce the Skip feature in that more stable version.

I just played through the entire start of the game, not skipping the intro, and couldn’t find this bug. Could you be more specific, is it in the first area of the game – before going to the world map? Again, a screenshot would be SUPER helpful.

But, like I said before, it could be GamCore just messing up my game for some reason.

Your game is really fun, this type of bug happened 2 times, the first time I was able to save it, but this time I couldn't escape the bug. I wonder if you can add a feature like teleporting home to the menu? Like an emergency escape. I'm not deleting the save, waiting for good news.

Is grabbing -> instant loss an intentional design? Kinda fucked that you're pretty much always getting an instant loss if the enemy gets in close range on normal difficulty, especially since just about every attack leaves you at grapple range.

You mean when your grabbed u instantly lose? If thats what u mean thats not intended at all, bug

Rio is a particularly bad case since she simply gets constantly grabbed without engaging any content, so it can softlock a game under the "right" conditions.

yh thats a bug, rio's grab are locked rn iirc and the whole grab repeating thing is a bug since thats never happened to me

Hi whittle !

Just to expand on DarkOg13 ‘s comment, of course getting grabbed over and over until you are defeated isn’t an intentional design – at least, not for a single fight, it’s more about being worn down over the course of a stage. ;)

In the version of the game you’re playing, you’re experiencing all the same bugs that my Patreons got, which is because I debuted the Difficulty selector system in version 0.0.3 D – which affected all the combat encounters in the game, so there were some pretty hefty bugs that inevitably popped up that I couldn’t see/address in time for the release, as I have a strict end of the month release date for all versions of the game.

Fortunately, the bugs you’ve described have been addressed for Version E, which will be free for the public on the 27th of March.

In the meantime, may I suggest to make the game somewhat entertaining again, you can switch the game’s difficulty when you are in the “Refuge” (pre-game over screen) to make combat easier, or skip all combat encounters (save for Boss fights) entirely by selecting “Auto Win” before each fight.

I know it’s annoying and I do apologise, but I hope you stick around for the newer releases. This is my first ever game and I like to think with each release I’m getting closer and closer to a fully functioning game
