Games are meant to be enjoyable. Find one that you enjoy while you wait. I have like 200 here I've downloaded and yet to play, they all look interesting, some might be crap, but I can do plenty of other things while I wait.
Indeed, i´m playing Diablo 4 now , so i´m busy while i wait :)

And my beloved Regium fans. Yeah, sure, things were much better with him, and the MC was the Edgelord Chad, not the pathetic emo-crybaby-limp-dick like now, and the jokes were funny and juicy, not like the pale crap that was left after the edits and in general we were one step away from fucking all the LIs and shoot up a fucking college. But Ocean has deprived us of all these joys. :Kappa:

Just please don't forget one little thing: Regium has left this ship four (or five?) years ago. Summer's Gone is now entirely created by Ocean, and the old one you loved was abandoned by its developer many years ago. Alas. It's abandoned. Seriously, don’t torture yourself, Ocean won’t return everything as it was under Regium, find something more suitable to your taste. Or accept the changes.
This reminds me to the Halo saga, the change from Bungie to 343... It was better Bungie? Of course, but now we have 343, take it or leave it, we can´t do anything about it.

But Ocean is not that bad, come on guys... I didn´t play Regium version but Ocean is doing a good work, worse or better than Regium? I can´t talk but Ocean is not bad.

You forgot to check people's reviews about Regium. When he was developing SG, no one talked about “Slow Burning” and that the dialogue in the game was boring. But they write this about Ocean all the time. Well, this is not surprising, after all these years people are tired of waiting for the plot to move forward and begin to develop.
OK, I'll take the bait.

Your reply has NOTHING to do with what I said in my post. All you are doing is deflecting/moving the goal posts.

1. Reviews are like assholes... (you know the rest of that saying). I've seen objectively average games on F95 get rave reviews simply because the game ticked the right fetish boxes. They are subjective, so moving on.

2. This thread has 1,683 pages. Only the first 38 pages (2%) relate solely to Regium's Chapter 1.

3. Development time / "Slow burning" is irrelevant to my post because I presented evidence in the form of dialogues and renders from the original SG Ch 1 (Regium's) that people could view, compare to Ocean's reworked SG Ch 1, and reach their own conclusions about.

Anyway, let's look at the development time / "slow burn" question.

Regium released one - ONE - chapter of SG on 8 May 2019. That is all. Regium has no (as in ZERO, ZILCH) track record in development cycles to compare with Ocean because Regium made no subsequent chapters of SG.

Ocean took over the development of SG in 2019 and he released Chapter 2 on 11 January 2020 - eight months after Regium's first and only release.

Here is what Ocean wrote in the Chapter 2 changelog:

Chapter 2 now got completely reworked (It was never published) from scratch. Over 1200 images were reworked.
You may notice some quality changes while playing Chapter 2. This is because Regium and I both did create visuals. (He did around 100. and I did around 1300.)
I (Ocean) know more about rendering than he does and we decided to both render visuals to speed up the process of the rework. Which was a Quantity > Quality decision.
A choice I would normally never do.
Let's look at some objective information about the two versions of Chapter 1 (ignoring render and dialogue quality):

As for reminiscing about Regium's Chapter 1 - it contained one - ONE - lewd scene; a minor one where Summer showed her breasts. That is all. No one has any idea what would've followed and when, had Regium continued development.

Regium's version, while declaring both paths, was better focused on the dark path where the MC is a sociopath who can shoot a woman, commenting on his actions in the same tone as he asked Mila for a cigarette. Probably the author was trying to portray a guy completely dissociated from his feelings and emotions.

And I can only give my opinion, but I got the impression that the game was heading towards something like Raptus. Again, this is just my opinion, but it's based on what Regium has posted here and on Discord.

Perhaps this can be compared to alternative movies, which, although have their fanbase, is unlikely to be shown to the mainstream public due to taboo topics and disturbing scenes. I don't believe it had any chance of getting onto, say, Steam.

And for the people who like to play the dark path. Chapter 5 is just.. damn. I questioned myself after finishing it.

I truly don't understand why some fans of Regium's darker version of SG spend most of their F95 time ragging on Ocean in this thread instead of heading over to the Raptus thread, playing the game, then commenting about it there afterward.
:KEK: :KEK: :KEK: Out of reactions.
As I said, a mystery more cryptic than the prophecies of the ancient Aztecs.
I can only assume that despite all the criticism they couldn't find anything better. Heck, I wont deny it, I myself would be glad to find a game that I would like as much as SG, but without fucking tabletop games and with updates every three months and the amount of content for several hours in each update. But alas, since 2019, I haven’t found anything. There are many good games, but I have never seen one that replaces this one. :HideThePain:

No, it was not focused on the dark path. The MC was more sunken and broken, so it was more likely to understand a dark path (but the path that Ocean had in mind), but the light path would be even more bright, because it is the healing from the depths of the abyss. Anyway, I understand that others say "Regium's version" but... don't we agree that the story was always Ocean's?

Correct. It was never Regiums story....

Until Chapter 4, it was the Ocean's script. I mean, back then they only had the script for five chapters ahead (when only the first chapter was released.) Then Regium began to make changes to the Ocean script. Ocean said he reversed them when he took over the development.
But the spoilers that Regium told, although there were a few of them and they were pretty vague, one can conclude that he planned the dark path to be really dark.

Regium's version
I don't think something like regium's version ever existed. ocean himself said that the only thing regium did was to render a few images for the first chapter. whatever you saw was always from ocean

I mean Regium's version of the first chapter which is reworked by Ocean now. What Ocean said about him making most of the renders was related to the second chapter.

I don't think you got it right. there was always a faq where it was explained what role regium had and I'm sure he had no influence on development. he just rendered chapter 1 but everything was always created and written by ocean. try to find it if you are active on his server

Well, there's a good chance we'll see something dark in WiAB. I'm repeating my old post, but what we have in WiAB right now is potentially the perfect premise for a tragedy about criminal family and moral fall. This is more my personal wish than an observation, but I'd like to see the story move in that direction.

SG by the fifth chapter turned out to be really fun, light and easy to read. Even the appearance of Bella's sister at the end didn't add much drama.
