Sorry to hear - what kind of error?

Also, did you clear out your old saves before using the new one(s)? It sounds weird, but I've sometimes had problems from old autosave files hanging around, for example.
That was the problem. Thanks again lol

Look in the OP. It says the downloads are 0.8, not 0.8b. So that means you need to apply the patch.

Hey people. So I have something I really need to share.

Two weeks ago I kinda reluctantly took another look at adult games. Remembering my younger years (I'm 32 now), everything in this area was simply shitty. I didn't even know why, but I felt like being a little disappointed in it again was something I would be doing.
So I started to download stuff, as you could think - didn't want to even think about paying for something that I was checking out mainly because of boredom and needing a little break in my work. I found a few surprisingly well done games (graphically speaking), so I started to ask myself if possibly it could have evolved, yet I remained skeptical.

I decided to try out a few that had a lot of good reviews, and downloaded a game called Dreams of Desire. And there I got my first big surprise! This game had a real story to accompany it. Yet, it still felt like fuckfest, but it was a little nicer since it was with nice graphics and the story wasn't too bad.

I thought, I must take a look at a few others. Downloaded 3 more. The first one I tried disappointed me deeply. That was complete shit - some of it simply disgusted me, and I'm not easy to get to that. The second was nicer, but still - meh, nothing more. I thought, okay, it has improved a little since back then, but nothing too noticeable. A last one and I drop this.

There comes Melody...
Oh. My. God.

I think you don't realize what you guys have created here. A modern fairytale, that caught me so defenseless I absolutely wasn't prepared for it. Granted, the story goes easy on the main character - he clearly is in luck. Some tends to prefer darker things, these days. As for me, I simply recognized myself in him more than in anything, any media at all I have been using before.

I'm a eager reader, having read a lot since my young age. Really a lot. Lover of RPGs and even occasionally a little D&D game. Cinema lover too. More than everything, I'm a (french) writer, having wrote a fan fiction in a game universe that has been loved and read for four years. When I tell you I experimented with entering a story deeply, it's no joke.

Nothing, or at least I can't remember a thing, has got me as deep in as Melody. There are a few reasons to that and I will try and list some.
As I said before, the main character resonates in me incredibly - being the good guy, but doing some mistakes and not knowing how to react to it, yet having so much interesting experiences in the past, life always ends up giving another shot.
Storytelling is very good, also. Characters are complex, not only directed toward the one goal you usually witness fictionnal figures being mold into. Trust me on that, as a writer, I can tell you not so much people succeed in that area - including reknowned and successful writers.

The music vibes are incredibly strong. As a rock lover since my childhood, I don't think any other environment would have offered the possibility to get this thing to the incredible piece of art it is.

And there is Melody.
I'm completely hypnotized.

Okay, the graphics are good - but that's something a lot of games got right. That's not it. Melody is something else.
Melody is that incredible young woman that you want to protect, yet you feel her inner strength at every turn. She wants to feel protected and that someone cares about her, and like the fiercest flower she then blooms into heaven.

At the same pace the main character did, I completely fell for Melody. So much that I started playing that game like it was really me who made choices, not trying to get any girl I could to get naked as I always did in every game that offered me to do so, but I simply slowly lost sight of every other women in the game.

Melody is one of the finest worked on characters I have ever seen. I'm completely, utterly in love. So much that when I would left home to get to work, I would continue my game on my phone on the way there and at lunch break.

And then comes the really incredible part. All the chivalry displayed by the main character due to my choices gave me strength to go and be even more of the good guy. Playing this game starts to have a really positive impact in my life. I'm more patient and understanding with my loved ones.
The restrained choices I would have in game makes me think more about how to make the good choice in real life events.

So I thought I had to thank you for making this happen. Your work is incredible... i'm playing the game right now, using some relaxing music compilations to accompany the journey.
Of course I will be heading to Patreon as soon as Melody gives me a few minutes to do so, and buy the game there. It's the least I can do for such a masterpiece.

Please continue to do what you do. It's simply one of a kind. Don't fall into easiness for next projects, live up to your talent...
And thank you for everything.

Great post man. (y)

You can't buy the game but you can support the creator on Patreon. :)

Interesting post, thanks for sharing.

You might also consider "Dating my Daughter" by the same producer - similar style elements but with different characters and a markedly fantasy-like storyline.

Currently at week 7 & quite enjoying the story, it's well written and the characters are engaging. It's just a shame Melody and her friends look far too young, especially as I'm guessing the MC is supposed to be in his 40s judging by what is written about his past.

Some of the renders, especially for Sophie, make it look like the girls are in their mid-teens. I shut down the Sophie & Xianne routes as soon as I could and explored the Amy & Isabelle routes.

I really like how the relationship with Melody is developing, but as I said, I just wish her avatar, particularly facially, could look a few years older.

Fantastic. You speak from my heart. Unfortunately I can't express my impressions as clearly as you did. But I find myself in everything you say/write. Great post.
And yes, try after or while you play "Melody", also "Dating my Daughter".
I think the game is similarly fantastic for you. I'm definitely in love with both games.

Please, please do patronize Mr Dots. The hard work absolutely deserves your dollars.

And if you haven't yet already, do try DMD. The F-D thing may not be your jam, but the progression of the story and their feelings for one another come from a similar place as what you've experienced in Melody.

Hey people. So I have something I really need to share.
Hello there.
If you are a writer and love Melody for the story i think it's been some time since you checked the Adult game scene. Don't get me wrong tho.. I love Melody for what it is. Simple story, Choices that changes the story and good looking girls. But when it comes do deeper story it's about as shallow as a puddle of water. You would know if you had been checking around and tried more games. I give you 2 exampels from the top of my favourite list of adult games based on good story telling.
(Acting Lessons) & (Depraved Awakening) Both games are complete and free to DL from F95. Would love to hear your thoughts on Acting Lessons :)

Have fun :)

People recommend games all the time in these topics, though.

The poster did not appear to be a representative for either Dev team.

I just replied to his post. As did others btw. I know this is the melody forum and i talk about this game and DMD alla the time. I was just caught up in what he said and wanted to help him out in his search for adult games with good story. That was the topic in his original post. Melody is a great game with 1 more post on the forum or not. Your chill remark added yet another. :p

As for melody i only have a few complaints and many roses to give. My complaint is that you have to work really hard in avoiding sex with Amy. If your not carefull you get that scene weather yu want to or not. Bad for anyone on the Melody only path. Should be a clear option to say no, but all you get is 3 YES on the screen and then you are forced to have sex. It's a bit weird. (Yes i know how to avoid it. But it's not a logical reasson becasue you have to Lie to amy about Arnold) Normally you have to work hard on getting sex, not avoiding it, haha :) I also miss music in the game. It's kind of weird to have all the story about a superstar music artist in a silent game. Now i'll go chill with Sofia

I thought some type of music would come back this ep. But guess not, Now after reading all the posts for like a year I must agree that not having any music or sound whatsoever is messed up in a music themed game! I don't know what happened with the sound bites there was but......It really is boring playing now with no sound at all. I AM NO.1. FAN of Melody, but that is beginning to suck!
