Chapter 1 is the first stand alone game.
Chapter 2 is at update .21 so far.
You do not need to play 1 to be able to play 2.

Chapter 2 patch .21 is the complete chapter 2 game so far, its not a patch.

As a quick experiment, I deleted all my Autosave files (which tripped things up in the past) and tried opening prior saves with 0.21: it could only open the last 0.20 save entry. Except for that last one, no prior save point is accessible by 0.21 - it either goes back to the Main Menu when trying to load or throws an exception and needs to quit.

By contrast, 0.20 can still open all prior saves points.

So, something is has changed and/or is broken in 0.21 when it comes to backwards save compatibility, I feel.

well she seems to be changing, btw i started to play again chapter 1 and it seems the bugs of the photoshop with Richard never got fixed? no matter the choice i always get the same outcome as if i did agree to let him take the photo.

One thing that intrigued me about this update...

was the Rachel scenes. With her breaking up with Brad, and on her way find D, makes me wonder how it'll play out. I figured before that if she continues to be a factor in the story, it'd be a villain role. That there would be no possible redemption angle for her. But the way her scenes were framed in this update actually made me think it was possible. She actually seemed somewhat remorseful. I mean I still think it's highly unlikely to happen, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't interested in seeing it play out. A fully reunited family, "closer than ever", could be interesting. But yeah, surely not gonna happen.

You say intrigued, I say scared the shit out of me. Rachel is 25 pounds of crazy in a five pound sack. But there does have to be a villain. I don't know how the Harem can possible work out, but I'm hoping.
