That doesn't affect the basic principle.
PAY AS YOU GO.
If you need 6 months, the process must be:
"I pledge to pay X amount to be charged WHEN AND ONLY WHEN update drops."
Thats how the problem is solved. Thats how many contracts in real life work.
PATREON has the wrong CLOCK. The system clock must be UPDATES. Not TIME.
Then that wouldn't be the responibilty of the creator, that's YOUR own choice.
You can easily cancel all your pledges and note down your amount, then when they release another update you can pay that amount times the months he worked on it.
Easy, done...
Patreon isn't perfect....not by a long shot.
But the only one responsible for your pledge and you paying, is YOU...
You have 100% control over it.
If you don't like it, leave it.... Simple as that (People know that i am not a fan of Icstor, that's why is no longer pledge to him)
But if he finishes this game, i am going to pledge all the months that i missed.
And like my friend
@Walg said to me.
Without the montly paying system, a lot of devs wouldn't even be out here today and a lot of games wouldn't either.
So again, patreon isn't perfect... And there are enough assholes that will try to take advantage of people, but in the end... YOU are the the one in control of your own wallet.
