Have another look on save game,find a string, where it could be fixed.
If you have Rulwe in party locked, you need open your save with editor (
You must be registered to see the links
)then find string in character field(started as
"_actorId": 9,
"_name": "Tentacle Monster",
"_nickname": "",
"_classId": 13,
"_level": 25,)
field that you need looks like
"_required": true
Replace true on false.After these changes load new save and you will able replace rulwe anyone else.

I got the same thing but it only happened once. Had to travel back to the castle by traveling to Oakshire, as the "Horse" item couldn't be used as the game thought I was still at the castle. Weird glitch but that's what solved it for me.

THANK YOU!! Was driving me crazy I couldn't get Rulwe out of my party, I just ended up not dealing with that quest.
Another thing I have a problem with, is why the battles in Act III suddenly become so difficult?! Enemies have an insane amount of health, can do ridiculous amounts of damage, and can wipe out one of your party members within seconds. I'm not joking. For example, during Zent's companion questline, I had to fight two storm elementals and they completely wiped out my party within a minute, and the fight before that was just as ridiculous, and during Roderick's questline, the boss has an insane amount of health, can get into an evasive state, and can regenerate a huge amount of heath after every turn. The problem with it is that it takes too long finish it, and it won't die. Like, why won't it die? Why can't it die? Even when I set the difficulty to easy these fights still give me trouble.
Say is there a fix to reset the UI? I got missing letters in sentences (like its replaced with a blank space) and the save/loaing screen is completely Fucked
