Starting to feel repetitive when its the same locations, pace and sprites day after day and the characters just get more intimate with each other and thats the narrative, that is PERFECTLY fine and dandy if thats what you go for but the chapter was over in an hour and a half, four moths real time feels like a lot for that, there are some new sprites and about 4 new locations but that couldnt take that long, I miss stuff like the museum visit in a previous chapter, now I am not demanding anything and I have no idea how much time the dev has in its hands to dedicate to this, Im just curious, and Im just happy this game exists but I will still critique it when I feel a little let down.
Yeah, I missed the part where you were complaining about how looooong it takes between updates given how "little" work is involved. I don't think I missed the point. It's sad you feel let down, but you have to be patient like everyone else does. Art takes time, in some cases more than others.

This is my first game that I support on Patreon. I think the 3 main characters are the sweetest of all games I have played so far. The depth of the characters is really incredible. Also now the update is the hammer. The most erotic scene I have ever been able to enjoy in a game. In the end the 2 sisters.
The 2 girls have such a charm, with their edges and corners, I just love them.
Also the narration of the creator is really great. He expresses with few words so many feelings. Perfect. Of course it's a long time between updates but please continue in this quality and then I'll wait longer for the update. I just enjoy the game and will play through the new update again now. Keep up the good work.
Sorry for my bad english

I guess this update was pretty good? Starting to feel repetitive when its the same locations, pace and sprites day after day and the characters just get more intimate with each other and thats the narrative,
Like any Series or Sitcom on TV since TV's got invented? Game of Thrones and Kings Landing come to mind instantly.
that is PERFECTLY fine and dandy if thats what you go for but the chapter was over in an hour and a half, four moths real time feels like a lot for that, there are some new sprites and about 4 new locations but that couldnt take that long,
If its not your day job then thats quite fast if you consider only free time and weekends aside from having a real life and being a 1 man project. Employees cost money and they ain't come cheap either.
I miss stuff like the museum visit in a previous chapter, now I am not demanding anything and I have no idea how much time the dev has in its hands to dedicate to this, Im just curious, and Im just happy this game exists but I will still critique it when I feel a little let down.
Critique can be about the museum stuff or immersion about the girls doing something with the MC on a weekend like going swimming or hiking in the mountains and thats all fine. But you feeling let down is on you and what you wanted this update to be.
BUT you have to realize 2 things. Making new places to explore means more work for Naughty. More work means longer wait times for the next update.
The other thing is that by adding more locations you need new dialouges and new events happening which means more writing on something you most likely already have finished from start to end before making the game in the first place. So while its maybe a good idea it would increase the workflow.
Just let naughty do his stuff and i promise once its done you will like the game alot.
Doing a great job with the three coworkers, I hope they get more screen time
Not feeling Brooke much, she is ok I suppose kind of a tame personality which makes her pale in comparison to the rest.
I hate the 3 coworkers and love brooke as a friend. Like the crazy bitch everyone should have in his friendlist. Especially if they are lesbian xD

naughtyroadSomeone who has never developed a game will never understand the ridiculous amount of time it takes to create each scene, including lighting, posing, "fixing" clothing, debugging scripts, and everything else that goes into a game.
Just one little example of a scene that can take a ton of time to stage ... Denise holding the pair of cum-stained panties. That requires a dForce simulation to "drop" the panties onto her hands so it looks like she is holding them. A single scene like that can take several time-consuming simulation passes on its' own because dForce doesn't always place the object exactly where you want it or how you want it. I have had scenes with even more simple dForce simulations than this that took 3-5 passes along with tweaking. Scenes that look deceptively simple can literally take hours between dForce simulating, lighting, rendering, and re-rendering (if it didn't render the way you thought it would based on the preview). This is just one of many reasons why things can take lot longer than it seems like they should. Multiply all of that times four, because there are four separate dForce simulations in the scene that I mentioned: holding panties up, holding panties down, examining cum right, sniffing cum left (i.e., 4 separate dForce simulations).

Loved the update and love the pacing, LofL is one of the few games around here that gets the progression right. You aren't grinding the same 3 events to get your 'love' stat above a certain number or having sex moments after meeting someone but nor does it feel like bashing your head against a wall as nothing happens. You are constantly making small gains and clearing psychological hurdles. Waiting for the next update with great anticipation!

Thanks. I went through Episode 4 again, and there is so much in there that is not only outstanding from a story perspective but also from a game creation perspective. There are so many custom scenes, and animations are not limited to sex (or almost sex) but include many other animations like Denise's sexy booty dance and the infamous Banana dance scene. Even the dream sequence has a really complex scene where Charlotte is holding a model of the room where Macy and Denise are interacting. That must have been a bitch to stage and pose, given everything that is going on in the scene, and I don't even want to think about how long it took not only to pose it but to render it as well, with everything going on in the scene. I can see why naughtyroad said their machine has been non-stop rendering for months.

Yo thanks for the developing incites, I'm curious though, would it be possible to sub in photo shopped panties denise could be holding instead of using dForce? Would that look like shit or be harder in the long run? Just curious because i don't know shit about developing this stuff.

It could be done, but then you have the situation of having real artifacts (the panties) in a rendered scene, and the panties would look real and not rendered. I am sure if someone worked really hard at it, this could be done, but I'm not sure it would save much time in comparison with just doing the dForce renders. A lot of developers do take renders made in Daz3D into Photoshop for other reasons like tweaking lighting, contrast, resizing, applying gaussian blurs (for low light renders to smooth them out), just to name a few.

You could photoshop anything into the final images, but it wouldn't really look right. I think Naughtyroad wants everything in his story to have a continuity in the way it looks visually. If you want good quality, need plenty of time for development.

That being said, I'd hope developers use this Shelter-Inside time to be as creative and prolific as possible. (y)
