I'll be honest with ya'll, I tried starting a Dev Report/Preview at least 4 or 5 times for the last 2 or 3 weeks but never really knew what to say. Why? Cause there isn't much good news to report, I guess? It's more so just been frustrations during the development, and I like to try and keep posts positive. So I'm just gonna talk about some of the feelings I have right now today.

I've sort of been stuck in purgatory for a while now. In development as well as in daily life and they sort of blend together making for an exhausting process. Imagine being in a movie and you're just constantly taking a mental beating every few days. Nothing serious or overly dramatic, but just annoying enough to make you wanna sleep it off. And then you come to do what you love and for some reason, everything that worked before begins to work against you. If you're me, you'd probably be looking for a wall to punch through.

Preparing for the revamp has been quite the hassle to say the least. Creating environments, all that kinda shit. Long story short, I'm convinced Daz Studio hates me. Rendering has been extremely inconsistent for me the past few weeks which has caused me to restart rendering time and time again to find something that works.

Remember all those tests I did in preparation for the revamp? All of that was to try to make the rendering process run smoothly. Obviously, that failed. So, the only report I have for ya'll currently is that I'm still rendering Chapter 1 because I needed to go back and find some alternatives. Had this shit not started happening, I likely would've already started the second half of Chapter 3. Disappointing, frustrating, but, I'm working through it.

Daz3D has a tool called the "Scene Optimizer". I'll have to look into using it. It probably could've solved a lot of my problems ages ago but I never really cared for anything that, to my knowledge, wasn't directly impacting my scenes. Obvious dumbass mistake is obvious.

But anyways, I'm getting good results (for now anyway) and the preview above is proof of that.
Earlier this month, I changed some parts of the first chapter, which is also evident in the preview above. In my view, too many games have characters working in a bar or a cafe. I believe this is because of the wide abundance of cafe environments the Daz store has. There's a lot. So this time, Chris and Ayana are working in a clothing store, more specifically a shoe store. Where I live, a lot of people my age work in these clothing stores, so might as well reflect that here. Michelle and Charlotte will still be in a cafe though.

Most of you might already recognize the environment I'm using, but I did edit it a bit to make it look a little newer. There will be more to see soon.

Let's hope for some smooth sailing from here on out.
Keep up the good work! Keeping my fingers crossed. Hopefully when you revamp chapter 2 the footjob will look even more sensual
So? Guys working in shoe stores isn't limited to the US and anyone who lives in a western or industrialised country will find men working in shoe stores.
I second that. Honestly, anyone who lives in a civilization really. All our shoe stores here have men.

Question for ChainZero: there's no denying that Charlotte looks absolutely fucking bangin' in the render from last months dev report, but one thing I've been wondering is if this new straighter hair style is going to be what she permanently has or if we'll see that wavy hair that really suits her again?

Short answer: No permanent changes.

Long answer: Charlotte will be moving between a number of different hairstyles throughout the story, so I can't say any one of them is a default look for her. So far, there are 3 hairstyles I like on her and a possible 4th. I don't think I'm planning on using the straighter hair until a little later though. But there is another curly style that I personally believe suits her even better than this style.

Here it is.

I really like this one a lot. I'm planning on debuting it in Chapter 3, but I also like it so much that I wanna see her in it as soon as possible, so I'm not really sure what I'm gonna do here until I start working on her scenes.

Just to be sure, this is the NON revamp version right? If it is, I am looking forward to the revamp version as well.

Something you should know about me is I can never seem to make up my mind, haha. That image IS pre revamp Charlotte (I rendered this a few months back), but something about her I actually like more than the revamp version of her. Right now, pre revamp Charlotte is winning in my head at about 70/30.

The main reason I chose to revamp her look is cause the denoiser tends to make her skin look too glossy, but I'm trying to render scenes without the denoiser and just apply certain edits in post. So the Charlotte you see above might be the one I use going forward.

Glad to hear that we haven't seen the last of the wavy hair and that her hair style will have some variations, but that short style is...well...let's just say I don't recognise that that is Charlotte and for some reason it makes me feel differently about her. On the one hand, it is still her and who she is as a character will still be there, but it doesn't make me feel quite the same about her as I do seeing her long, dark hair.

The long hair really frames her face perfectly and accentuates her blue eyes because of the contrast of how the dark hair surrounds her light coloured eyes that you become drawn to them. The lighter hair, however, distracts from this and your eyes are drawn more to it than her face and eyes. Maybe if that short style was the same colour as the long style it might be better, but the light colour doesn't frame her face in quite the same way.

No disrespect to you, you know I have a great appreciation for this game, but in all honesty I don't think it suits her. Sorry.

Just checked your patreon page and for the love of god, I cannot decide because they are all beautiful! I would vote for the pre-revamp version if there's a poll.

Had to do a bit of investigation to see which tier provides the wallpaper. ;) Also noticed that Laurel also have a mole in the same location as Charlotte. Interesting...

The wavy hair spells CHARACTER and STYLE!

OK, now I'm confused. Is "pre-revamp" Charlotte the wavy hair Charlotte? If so, why is that she is winning in your head 70/30, yet you said that this short style "suits her even better than this style."?

The wavy hair spells CHARACTER and STYLE!
Yes, these are excellent words to describe the long style. The short style is trendy and hip and there's nothing wrong with that, but the long hair just gives her a real sense of class that the short one doesn't, and it's this sense that really enhances her attractiveness.

Don't worry, I love disagreements. There isn't a discussion if there isn't one. I should state though that the light hair isn't really definitive here. I just chose that just to use it for the render, but I fully intend on making the hair darker. I do like the lighter highlights though. I'll be alternating between them.

But you spoke as a true fan of Charlotte! Her blue eyes are mesmerizing indeed and is definitely intended to be the main draw in of her character.

"Pre-revamp" would be the render I posted. Don't focus on the hair. It's the skin that's different. It's hard to see, but look at the image you posted with the straight hair and curly hair. The skins are different. I just tried to make the revamp version look similar to the pre revamp version to stay true to her appearance. But there's something about the pre revamp one that I like more. I don't know what.

"Pre Revamp" = Smaller, softer beauty mark above her lip.

Revamp: Bigger beauty mark.

That's the best way to tell the difference.

I just spoke the truth. :giggle: If that makes me a "true fan of Charlotte", then that's a badge I'll wear proudly. (y)

Honestly, if it were possible to make a LMD (Marvel reference = Life Model Decoy) of any adult game character, it would be a really difficult toss-up between Charlotte and Maya from BaDIK.

Honestly, that beauty mark, whatever size, is adorable so I'm happy with either. :giggle:

Man, the game progression is well tamed (in a good way) than most adult visual novels AND good character design & rendering. Hope to learn more about these characters and story of the MC. Keep up the good work!
