Silverlining to all this is with Burke gone and Quinn nigh on exposed there’s little chance of Maya/Josy having to resort to prostitution.
Burke isn't gone.

The best Chapter was the Hell Week plot arc by far... humor, sex, romance... But I think we are getting carried away by the emotions of this last chapter, there are still many more to come out (I think) and it can still be fixed, it is clear that this is not a Harem game and I am already psyched. Notice that as I have said a thousand times, the Maya and Josy thing screwed me up, but seeing what I saw in this chapter 6 I liked the part with them as much as being a "friend" ... friendship forever
It's been known this would not be a harem game, but it never had to be. It's more the fact that so many strings are getting tied to the MC in such a short space of time and rather than just allow this to be a light-hearted college game with small dramas where the MC is allowed to play the field with a lot less pressure until at least 2-3 episodes near the end, it's piling on so much drama and giving us really consequential decisions far too soon.

The worst part about that whole thing is that IRL, Tybalt's threatened lawsuit wouldn't work out. DPC dumbing down Jill's character to allow her to succumb to some weak threats is wack asf and bad writing. Jill has the resources to counter a lawsuit from Tybalt and could even threaten right back by refusing to talk to him/converse with him if he were to move forward with those threats.
Again, more examples of how DPC is manufacturing poor drama just for the sake of it rather than doing something that's more subtle and nuanced.

Please DPC, I don't want AL kind of drama, I'm begging.
Even if DPC was still here, I fear such hope is useless now. :(

I had decided to stay away from the thread until after playing the new chapter, mostly to avoid spoilers.

but then i saw you writing too much and i got worried, i read and i'm worrying even more:cry:
We were talking about AL.

Shit like this happens al the time. MC is definitely going to resolve the Blackmail situation and I foresee him pretending to be Maya's BF solving the issue with dad as well. Let's see what happens.
Before this episode, I would have agreed about him pretending to be Maya's BF, but now I doubt that very much because that would be the easy thing to do and creates the least amount of drama, but this does not seem to be DPC's way.

Yeah what you said is the exact problem I have with every game that tries to do a generic blackmail plot it dumbs down Jill's character because she just passively accepts what Tybalt said especially since she is a Royce and her family founded the colege they are currently attending. I hoped DPC would be more original and not use a plot device that can be found in every hentai since the begginning of time.

After this update, I don't think I like DPC anymore. I've been largely indifferent to them with regards to the story direction, writing, etc, and willing to give them the benefit of doubt that they won't take this down too dark a road and pile on the drama, but I think those days may be gone.

It has often felt like DPC is very much trying to stride out on their own here by making a game that is massively different to everything else out there, not just in terms of its story and gameplay, but by wanting to fuck people up as much as people with difficult choices, serious drama, and gut-wrenching consequences. It's almost as if they're trying to punish people for playing adult games and I can almost imagine them sitting at their desk ghost-reading comments here and checking their Discord while gleefully rubbing their hands together like Mr Burns and cackling, "hee, hee, hee, your agony is delicious."

But just to say, as someone who plays the M&J route, it actually had some nice moments in this episode and actually seems like it could be the best one in this whole game, provided DPC doesn't toss anymore hand grenades into it or kill one of them off, and honestly, after this episode, I feel I can no longer rule that out as a possibility.
You know, for someone not liking melodrama, you're acting like a drama queen yourself. Also, i'm not sure why you're so surprised by this turn. AL also piled on the drama the further it went on and now this game is doing the same, so it's not like their isn't precedence for this. Not to mention the big fat disclaimer at the start. If you really expected this to be pure light-hearted escapism, you have no one but yourself to blame.

Wrong so far they are not even a couple.
If Bella hears about Tybalt blackmail she will crucify him.

Honestly, I think the Author is wasting OUR/his/the MC's time on too many side girls.

What's the point in screwing those strippers, that chick in the bar and those cheap HOT whores when the MC's relationships with Sage, Jill and Bella aren't moving forward?

I'm quite disappointed, you know. I think the Author should focus on the main girls (Sage, Jill, Isabella, Josy and Maya).

at the time of me playing it didn't bug me too much because I was in shock from the reveal. You make a really good point and yeah like Jill says to you that Tybalt has money and connections well... Jill you and your family sure do have those too xD I guess DPC wanted to add a twist but it was unneeded. I hope this game doesn't become Acting Lessons 2.0 . Not that I didn't like it I loved Acting Lessons I just want this to be a game of its own and don't become too dark.

You must be on a DIK path. Only scenes I got in CHIC were Josy, Maya, Bella and Jill related. Not one sidegirl.

not so much as a dumb down, or at least I never liked jill because she did that from the start, only time she called him out was on a rooster post
I think its because she is starting to see that tybalt is the kind of person who would bribe witness or some how otherwise exploit his financial situation or the law. also even if he didn't sue he could just run to his dad and get the MC expelled

Yeah it's annoying you would think spending time with Bella might at least give you a bit more confidence to stand up for yourself.
