I got bored and decided too look how much effort they put in to NTR since 0.4. While skipping through scenes for my surprise there was sub path where MC get this shit together, try be smart and cool, and claim girls back one by one, despite don't mind to share/use them with others for own perverted benefit. This type NTR I don't mind, I now I wonder how many games with NTR have same or similar comeback routes.

It does not have to do with one person or windows/mac/linux os.
It has to do with the following Goddady certificate
You must be registered to see the links
If a user/system has already opened a web page with that certificate the download will proceed and the game will launch normally.
If a user/system has never encountered a page signed with that certificate unity will stop the download since it does not find the certificate in the system and considers the connection insecure.
Bellow I attach in the file "Godday cert.zip", the reg key of the certificate. Extract and doubleclick the file "Godday cert.reg" to import it in your system certificates. (= No more blackscreens with the spellbook)
edit: firefox does not use the system's certificate store and this is the reason it fails for firefox windows users

IT DIDN'T RESOLVE.
HOW TO ADD .REG FILE TO SYSTEM CERTIFICATES.
I EXTRACTED AND RUN THE .REG THEN RUN THE GAME .EXE FILE FILE BUT THE BLACK SCREEN ERROR DIDN'T GET RESOLVED.

Hi! We made some changes on how the game updates itself and some other improvements:
- removed forced file check on game launch
- added auto-update notification
- added auto-update function for game client
- improved auto-update function for game content and game client
- added offline-modus for free content
- and other (minor) improvements.
How to update game content and/or game client?
First of all, the game won't check for the files anymore when it launches. It will start and go to the main menu.
In the main menu, it will check if there is a new version waiting. If it founds one, it will ask if you want to update it. If you don't want to, it will also ask you one time only if you wanna keep receiving notifications or never warn you again about this.
If you choose to never to be warned again, you must do it yourself by clicking on the button check for updates.
If you choose to update, the game will close and launch the updater, that now can update everything, including the game client. Therefore, you won't need to download any patch again. Once it's done, it will give you the option to launch the game again.
For backers only, to play the content of the month, you still need to be online and login into your account, every time. This offline feature only applies to the free content.

I started playing this recently so I don't know how this stuff works. But is there content that is only available to patrons, or do free users get the same content but have to wait longer than the patrons?

Right now, all the content is available for everyone, because this month we worked only improving the game funcionalities.
Next month we are gonna get back with the usual scheme that make the content being released for free 30 days after it was released for backers.

Forgot to mention that we released for everyone the new funcionalities like the Gallery and the new Save System.

Since the game removed the DRM for free content and replaced it with an offline-modus might it be possible to update OP and allow the game to return to the "Latest Update" section again? As far as I understood the "always-online" requirement was the reason for the ban.

I forgot to put a loading on that screen.
When the game starts, or you load a save game is when the game loads the maincontent. And because it is big now, it takes about 10 seconds, depends on the PC.
We did that when you load a savegame... Just forgot to put it there too...

One question how i use my old save ? say to import old save but nothing hapen. Probably i dont do something right, what path for save have this new version? or maybe someone can tell me how to put my old save manually , and where. Thanks in advance.

After such a long time the update ban has been lifted and The Spellbook is back on the latest update section and OP updated as well! Congrats to przewodo and Naughty Jim!

To receive new updates you either allow the game to auto-update or you download the full game - yes the full 4+ GB - each month.

From which version are your old saves? Do you see your save folder in "Games_Data/Streaming Assets" folder?
