The girls were breathtaking.

I really, strongly prefer realistic looking girls, with realistic proportions, wearing normal clothes. It comes across much more like watching someone's story, than it does like playing a porno.

Things escalate vert fast (especially if you do the dock route), which both makes sense, due to the intended short length of this project, but also doesn't, due to establishing the existing relationships at play, and how the events in the story change them. But, because the project is what it is and aims to be as small and self contained as it does, it still works. And the characters, even without much time to get to know them, feel organic, as does their relationship with each other.

It kind of bugs me that, by choosing one route or the other, you seemingly block two of the characters from hooking up with each other, but the choice to do a separate path for how they end that night makes sense too.

From a STRICTLY "this is my personal taste" perspective, I'd be worried about how I (me, myself, as a player, with what I hope to experience in games) would feel about an expanded project with these characters, though. Because the idea of playing through their time in college, knowing those girls would not be available to me as per the relationship established in this story, it would mean any LI's I pursue would be temporary or hookups, and it would mean knowing the girls I was hoping for in the end would be having their own hookups.
But, again, that's a "me" issue, not a game issue, art issue, or story issue.

So only 125 renders and already completed? Is it worth downloading?
Yes. Art is great, and it aims to be a short story. It's 10 minutes to do both routes. This isn't aiming to be something big. It's just, more or less, a self contained story that serves as a tech demo for their art and writing, so it seems. If appreciated in that context, it's wonderful.

Short and to the point. A good sampling of what these guys can do. The character interactions and models were natural looking, which is my preference. Well done!

One critique: The renders were too dark. I realize it takes place at night, but there are ways to portray darkness without the renders being dark. I found it hard to make out details.

Looking forward to the next game.

Would have been better if there is a partner swap, or atleast 1 guy boning the two girl and leaving the other without action

will there be a android version?
There are many visual nove/Sandbox games on the internet which do not have a android version. Luckily we can play the windows version of game right on Android using the app called "JioPlay". If you want to try it there's a link below just download and install it.
Also with the games which have been ported to android are usually normal version of game ie without any mods. It's very hard for you to add mods to a android game after it's ported. Using JioPlay, we can add these mods just like we'd on pc and play normally

The Dave-Jessica storyline was better and more realistically written with the teasing and story flow being natural. Sadly the Nathan-Rebecca storyline went from 0-100 in no time and felt artificial... the tone felt jarring for those two and kind of gave me whiplash.
Really glad you liked one of the storylines :)

And I agree that the Nathan-Rebecca storyline does ask a lot from the players.

The "tl;dr" reason -> I wanted to give something to players who wanted some "action" in the game and I chose the 'Rebecca-Nathan' route to do that.

---

When I first pitched this project, I told the artist this would be a very short game.

But when I finished the first version of the script, it felt like the erotic element was completely side-lined.

That did not sit well with me. (I mean, at the end of the day, this is an erotic game.)

However, I also felt that adding too many scenes in the last minute would be pretty selfish of me.

So, in order to give a decent length sex scene in the game (without increasing the number of renders), I chose to re-write the whole thing.

I decided to establish Rebecca and Nathan's characters & relationship through their little "argument" and hoped the players would infer and accept it as somewhat good enough reason for their actions.

---

But, like I said, I fully get why their interaction might have felt jarring to some players.

Perhaps a more capable writer would have found a way to do that more naturally too. But I really did try my best to make it work with the limitations we had (set on ourselves).

However, I can guarantee the same problem will not exist in our next game, as it will be a long-running one - where we have enough space to let every relationship grow more naturally :)

That's a pretty valid concern.

We don't know if it's the best solution for it, but we do have a plan to give the players a sense of wonder (and control) over the next story irrespective of what happened in 'Before you go'.

1. The upcoming game is more of an alternate universe, rather than a prequel. It explores the idea of "What if there was a 5th friend (MC) ? How different would their lives turn out to be?"

2. Jen and Rebecca will not be the main love interests of the story. There will be options to pursue Jen & Becca if the player wants, but the main love interests are a completely different set of characters.

Hopefully, this will allow the players to enjoy the game without worrying about the ending of 'Before you go' :)

The hand-holding doesn't really signify anything sexual or romantic in the moment.

It was just to imply that they are an extremely close group of friends - who are comfortable with these kind of skinship without worrying about any hidden implications behind it :)

So, it's to showcase the author's work. Will there be an actual MC in the next game?
Yes, the next game will have a new character as an MC :)

Judging by the screenshots, it doesn't look any different to most 3DCG VN's for the creative team to showcase .... So I'm guessing it's the story and possibly how it's worded.?

Unfortunately, even as an alternate universe, you've established that these two relationships are what happens. Some people may pursue them regardless but quite a few will skip them.

I am glad you realize that and plan for there to be more love interests than these two. I don't see a need to play this game if it is incredibly short and it doesn't have any tie to your new game because you want it to be an alternate version of events. It would be better to just make it all in one world and that this is the way things end for these 4 people... Obviously just my opinion, look forward to seeing your next game.

Appreciate the insight into your thinking process! I kind of guessed that the limited writing space and the requirement of including a sex scene was the reason. From your thoughts about the matter and the way you approached the Dave-Jessica plot, I have complete confidence in your long form writing. Looking forward to your future works! Btw, have you thought about doing non-erotic games in the same vein? Like say a romance or comedy game? From your writing, I feel like you would be quite good at it.

UPDATE: The explanation I have given below is no longer valid in the current game.

At the time of writing this, I originally had a route planned where
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

However, the more I worked on the future plot points of the story, the harder it was to do without increasing all the minor story branching. So I eventually scrapped the idea completely.

So, (though I was being very sincere at the time of writing this comment) - this ending is no longer canonically connected to the main game. BYG is now purely an alternative universe.

---

My bad, I may have oversimplified things when I said 'alternate universe'.

It's not that this game does not matter at all, but rather it will matter IF the player wants it to matter.

---

Think of this game as a sneak peek into one of the many endings the main game will offer.

IF THE PLAYER WANTS, they can choose a route that will lead to this exact ending for Dave, Nathan, Becca and Jen. (In which case, the suspense would be how these characters got here and what is the MC doing at this moment.)

IF THEY DON'T, they can choose one of the other routes - which will lead to a completely different ending for the very same characters. (In which case, the suspense would be literally everything.)

---

That being said, I can definitely understand your concern that - this game doesn't offer much to those who're going to play the main game.

In that sense, this game mostly serves as a tech demo or a teaser.

However, we have really tried our best to make it work as a self-contained story. So that players (who are not interested in or do not know about the main game) can play it as a separate story and still leave with a complete experience.

---

Really glad to hear you're interested in our next game. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it when it finally releases :)
