Righty oh, so I did have a question. I don't know if it enters spoiler territory for future story or not so don't quite know what to expect buuuuut.....

With Katie also becoming a power and obviously not able to be a chosen, any relationship there is likely to cause some conflict with the guys wife and any issues affecting them also knock on to his chosen and the realm as a whole.

Is there any way to keep things just friendly with her and get her own chosen?

I'm guessing she'll have her own chosen at some point anyway.

I just have a sinking feeling that trying to start something serious with her will come back to haunt him at some point. Katies temper has been pointed out more than once and usually when things are mentioned like that it's a foreshadow to something.

I can't see her playing second fiddle to anyone for long and I think a relationship with Katie has potential to cause war with the clan.

I might be wayyyyy overthinking it but that's how things look to me.

Chosen are generally restricted to gods. Powers can be mortal. The MC is surrounded by young mortal Powers. Katie is but one.

Katie doesn't want something serious, fortunately. She's more prone to fun frolics. She's more a "best mate with benefits" type gal.

Except she's in love with the MC, her gran is pushing him to sort things with her and I don't think that's going to sit well with Emily.

Dev also said in an earlier post that Katie can have her own chosen.

Katie has a Spark, she can't become a Chosen. She can eventually get her *own* Chosen, though.
She didn't want anything serious at the start but a lot of things have changed.

I don't know if you've played book 2 yet, but it's something that comes up. And things do change.
I got to the point where her gran tells him he needs to talk to her and how Katie feels about him then I bought it and now starting again.

It was that talk that gave me the foreshadow of doom feeling.

Katie from book one was all casual and nothing serious etc...

Katie from book 2 seems entirely different and a lot of things are changing. Emily being okay with the chosen is one thing, Emily being asked to be okay with a full on side fling is another entirely.

That and if Katie does feel like her gran seems to think and with her temper, I just don't see her being happy being a part time lover for long.

I might be overthinking things but we all know things never run that smoothly and there is always tragedy somewhere.

If you're replaying, watch the dialog. A lot of it has a lot of foreshadowing. Pretty much anything Chloe says, of course, but I also try to sneak in things around the place. One place that might be worth re-watching is Katie at the Xmas party (where she gets drunk with MC).

There's a bit more development with Katie in the current version but I reckon the situation isn't resolved completely yet. It looks a bit like this Roundtables version of Lancelot and Guinevere. Fortunately Emily is very perceptive both in that the MC's love for her is unquestionable as well as what's going on around you and how people feel.

Still it's always funny when we have to confess what we'd done to Emily. Loved the scene after recruiting the orcs.

Yeah, I'm going on book 1 only so I haven't seen Katie's further evolution. I've been waiting for book 2 to get close to completion. I get frustrated stopping half-way.

since Xochi isn't Dylans maybe the MC and her can restart the the Aztec pantheon for if they win the war and re-populate Mexico. Blood of the Oldest and an original Aztec god would make strong pantheon. I noticed when in elseware in the paths when you camp and Xochi is in the party you can't talk to her, not sure if it's a bug or intended, would be nice to see more of her story.
No Rest Reward for Xochi or Matthew yet.

Oh right, the bit where she's passed out drunk and says "It ain't me fault, mom... The cat had it coming." Should Kath be worried?

Simmering, but not boiling. I definitely wouldn't call it a resolution either.

That may be all we ever get with that situation. Katie isn't 'chosen' and never will be, but she's not a casual side thing either like Owyn's other indiscretions. So the tension is still there and likely will be a thing throughout the books. I really feel for Katie in this.

In a sense Owyn owes Sarah a debt for setting him up with Emily instead of Katie.

Sure ...

We'll repay it by giving her her well deserved final rest. ;)
Kinda sad it went that way for her.

She started growing on me early on, she was quirky and I started to like her. I was hoping she'd be one of those daft characters that turn up every so often as comic relief.

I will admit though she does make a great antagonist. She does fit the role of lunatic necromancer quite well.

I remember seeing your post about that, Ava, and having to hold myself back from spoiling anything about her arc.

I'm honestly not sure if she was always crazy or if we made her so with that royal flush (or whatever it was) we dumped into her.

Yeah, back when she was just a teacher giving assignments. Aside from her whole branch of magic being somewhat sketch. I mean I liked Torman, too. Back when he was a teacher...

Arguably we might have pushed her over the edge. An edge. Given that she was already blackmailing us at that point.

I think she was always a little bit crazy but, again, it was foreshadowed .... Droid seems to like those foreshadows.

It was mentioned she'd do anything to stay young and take what bit of power she could get. It should have been obvious she'd take any offer for more power.

I don't think we broke her, I think we showed her what true power feels like, she wanted more and her crazy side took over.

I just got done playing through the current stop point to chapter 2, and I must say I very much enjoyed the story. It's got combat events to grow the character, choices as it is a VN, and plenty of sexy scenes.

Now I played through first without the walkthrough, although I did check it about the black roses.

I'm thinking about playing through again, this time with the poker hints turned off, my only question is where to really grind money in chapter 2? I worked a hella lot in the bar, and spent a pretty penny upgrading gems, but it seems that after mowing down critters in the paths and selling excess gems, I'm getting more by selling the ingredients to Chloe.

Also I'm glad I skipped selling ingredients once to Chloe because then I saw she offered bigger gems for more ingredients, I may get my gems that way rather then buying them from the quartermaster.

Anyway this is a hell of a great story you've got going on, I can't wait to see more.

I seem to have run into a problem, the Demon hordes are on their way to Camelot and Emily says to meet her at the round table, but I get stuck in the great hall without any icons for going anywhere - not frozen but no fast travel - no indicators to go
Is this a glitch or just the end of this update???
